Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Monday weigh-in from me, bit disappointed I seem to have gone up half a lb since yesterday. 😕 however over the week I'm down 1lb

SW 13st 1
CW 12st 9
Goal under 10st

Cookiedough123 · 20/08/2023 10:14

Im back from my week away, started off the week being good (for being away!) and towards the end of the week found it more difficult.. but I stuck to 10000 steps every day except for 1. I weighed today and I was 15st 0.6! When I went away I was yo-yoing between 15st 1 and 15st 2 so I’m pretty happy with that. I think I’ll have a few days fluctuating whilst my body catches up on the last few days but overall I’m pleased I haven’t undone all my hard work up to now! I’ll be back for my daily weigh ins!

@Bumblebeebum23 great weigh in! Have a lovely holiday!!

@Sugarfree23 that’s great well done! It’s a bit disheartening when it’s ‘only 1lb’ but it’s progress!

I've stayed stable this week. Was doing fab until I went out for dinner last night. And I thought I was being careful with my choices.

Cookiedough123 · 21/08/2023 10:09

@Sugarfree23 stable is better than a gain!

I’ve weighed again and I’m 15st exactly this morning! So close to the 14 bracket!

Cookiedough123 · 22/08/2023 09:54

Great weigh in this morning as I’m under the 15 bracket! Just waiting for the scales to get stuck or go up again!! 14st 13lb.

Total loss so far 7.8lbs

OP posts:
Sugarfree23 · 22/08/2023 17:54

Having another look at my lose over the week. I'm actually down about .5 of a pound, last week I was just over 12st 9 this week just under 12st 9 if that makes sense.
I'm claiming that half pound or 0.4 of a pound.

ScallyWaggyWoo · 22/08/2023 18:48

To those of you getting frustrated with what the scales say, please remember the following:

shit sleep = high cortisol which causes water retention I.e weight gain
extra carbs (the clue is in the name) = water retention I.e weight gain
exercise = water sent to muscles to repair them I.e weight gain

sometimes your weight has nothing to do with your fat loss. Scales not moving can be a good thing - if you’re increasing muscle mass and losing fat because you’re exercising at the same time, the scales won’t move much.

it is far better to track your measurements, how your clothes fit, how you feel mentally than put too much into the scales.

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/08/2023 11:19

Morning everyone....well a mixed bag of a holiday. Started off the week eating really healthily but then came down with gastro 🤢😢 as a result I then felt too scared to eat anything that could result in any food poisoning and lived mainly on bread, pizza and chips for the rest of the week. Big complaints made but not much that could be done. Such a shame.

Anyway long story short. 1lb down

14st 5lbs this morning

Cookiedough123 · 24/08/2023 08:40

Morning! Well yesterday the scale stayed the same and this morning I was down to 14st 11.2! Hoping I’m far enough away from the 15 number not to see it again hopefully!

Ive been pretty good at sticking to 16:8 sometimes 18:6, I’m back at work in a few weeks after my maternity leave and wonder how I will get on then as I like snacking in a morning!

I’ve managed to avoid my bingeing food - chocolate and brownies etc as once I start with them I can’t stop! I think I’m eating around 1400-1600 I was tracking before my holiday but I do need to start doing it again! I find it hard when I’m out having lunch trying to guess what calories I’m having!

Total loss so far - 9.6lbs ….. 40.4 to go!!

OP posts:
Cookiedough123 · 24/08/2023 08:50

@Sugarfree23 id claim every .1 of a pound too!

@ScallyWaggyWoo i definitely agree I just find it takes longer for me to notice a fit with my clothes etc! Although when they fit better that’s better than watching the scales go down. I find it really motivating weighing myself daily and find it keeps me committed!

@Bumblebeebum23 sorry to hear you were poorly on holiday! My little boy was poorly whilst we were away and it makes it so much more stressful! I’m a massive pizza fan so it would be my heaven to live off pizza although I can imagine after a few days you got fed up!

Down to 14st 10.8 today. Had a little win last night when I kept having to pull my pants up at the gym! Something must be happening!

Next two goals are-

  1. to get out of the ‘Obese’ category and into ‘Overweight’ around 14st 7.
  2. Getting to 14st 7 will be 1 stone lost!! 3.8lbs to go.

Total lost 10lb!
40lb to go!

OP posts:
Cookiedough123 · 27/08/2023 10:31

Another update from me.. I am now 14st 9.4. It seems to be dropping off at the minute after being very up/down the week before I went away. I thought I would go up after AF arrived but still losing. Wonder if it’s something to do with stopping breastfeeding maybe.. not sure!
I’ve found since stopping it’s so much easier as I’m not constantly hungry or thinking of food!
Ive been sticking to fasting although technically I am cheating as I don’t like water so I have juice all day every day! I’m good at closing my window after tea which is usually between 6-7pm. I get to about 1030 in the morning and start to feel hungry and I’d usually snack on a lot of rubbish but manage to wait till I have my lunch which is anytime after 1.

Total loss so far -11.4lbs
38.6lbs to go!

I was out on Friday night and gained 2.5lb. 😵‍💫
Now clearly I haven't eaten 2.5lb worth of calories, in one night even adding in a few drinks. So assuming it's mainly water.

eleanorwish · 27/08/2023 11:18

Hi, I'd like to join if that's ok. I'm on a couple of these weight loss threads. I'm currently at the 'I really need to lose weight, but I'll start soon' stage.
The problem I'm having at the moment is that my DD is about to go to uni soon, so we're having lots of treats at the moment!

Hyppogriff · 27/08/2023 18:32

Can I join please ? Mid- august was my oh my goodness moment when I looked at a few photos friends had taken and didn’t recognise myself and finally plucked up the courage to step on the scales! TW about 63 kilos - I currently have about another 11 to go (have lost a bit so far this month). I just need somehow to get over the mindset that if I slip up once or twice I may as well just give up forever. I have 2 kids and I just would like
to be healthy for them!

Cookiedough123 · 28/08/2023 09:24

So I’ve had my first gain in a couple of weeks today I was 14st 11.2 which is a gain of nearly 2lb overnight. I did expect it though after having a curry!

@Sugarfree23 have you weighed since?

@eleanorwish yes please join! I am not one of these people that say I’ll start on Monday. I usually do a few exercise classes and that then spurs me on to eat better. I always feel like if I plan to eat good on a certain day I fail! What’s your plan?

@Hyppogriff yes join too! I had one of them moments when we were going on holiday and the same clothes I wore 2 years ago now didn’t fit! At least you’ve already started .. I think that is the hardest part!

OP posts:
Sugarfree23 · 28/08/2023 17:29

@Cookiedough123
If it can go on overnight, it can come off overnight.
That said I am back at 12st 9.3 so regained the half pound I claimed to have lost last week.

Never mind it's the start of another week. And I just need to keep trying.

Sugarfree23 · 29/08/2023 07:59

Result - happy days! 12st 7.0lb lost 2.3lb oovernight. Really I must have been retaining water or something from dinner / drinks out on Friday back to the weight I was on Thursday.

Hyppogriff · 29/08/2023 08:00

Woohoo!

Royalsrumbled · 29/08/2023 08:04

Sorry I've been. Awol. Had a a lot of family stuff going on including a bereavement... I weighed this morning and have lost nearly 2lbs. Will be doing my daily weigh in from now on. Hope you're all keeping well! X

Royalsrumbled · 29/08/2023 08:05

13st 6lbs 1/4oz 😅

TeddyBeans · 29/08/2023 08:21

Morning! I'd like to join too please!

Bit of background - have 2 kids, DS5 years and DD6 months. Decided it wasn't worth losing weight between them (a lot happened in the time between them too but that's a whole other thread) and eventually got up to 110kg. Decided to start losing weight about 3-4 months ago and got from 110kg down to 99.4kg. Weight loss has taken a back seat over the school holidays but that's coming to an end now so I'd like to get back on it!

I was losing 1kg+ a week (2.2lbs approx) in the beginning so hopefully will go back to that sort of level. Felt it was sustainable.

SW 110kg
CW 101.4kg
GW 70kg but aiming to get under 100 first and then set targets from there

Keep up the good work everyone!

Bumblebeebum23 · 29/08/2023 08:29

Okay so this morning I weigh 14st 3.5lbs so 1.5lbs this week.

Total loss since June 16th : 1 stone 5.5lbs

Loss since this thread 5.5lbs

Next mini target is to reach a stone and a half

Cookiedough123 · 29/08/2023 09:11

Back to 14st 10.6 today. Hopefully tomorrow I’m back to my low! Had quite a bit of food yesterday which I didn’t end up logging as it was leftover curry and fajitas but managed to stick between 12 & 8. Since I’ve been on mat leave I’ve been having lots of lunches and have to guess the calories which I’ll be doing again today!

@Sugarfree23 great result this morning! What’s your total loss so far? What was your goal?

@Royalsrumbled sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time! Hopefully things get better soon! At least you’re 2lb closer to your target too.

@TeddyBeans I just had a nosey at kg to stone converter and you’ve done amazing so far well done! I agree about setting little targets. My next one is to get to 1 stone lost which I’m about 3lb away from.

@Bumblebeebum23 1.5lbs this week is brill! What’s your goal weight?

OP posts:
Sugarfree23 · 29/08/2023 09:44

My start weight was 13st 1.3 to be precise. Today 12st 7 so total loss of 8lb. 😀

Goal - Under 10st which gets me just into 'healthy' BMI - really I'd love to get to 9st but that might be a tad ambitious - 10st seems achieve able.
