Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Thanks @Cookiedough123. My goal weight is 10 stone, so still a long way to go, but glad to see the numbers moving down. My sister gets married next Aug, so I would love to be at target before then x

TeddyBeans · 30/08/2023 09:12

@Cookiedough123 thank you 🥰 I realise it's a bit of a ballache working in kg when everyone else is in stone but all my pregnancy appointments were weighed in kg and it's stuck from there 🤦‍♀️ 3lbs isn't much to lose though, you'll have lost that stone before you know it!

Is there a weigh in day or do we just plop up our loses as and when we weigh?

Sugarfree23 · 30/08/2023 09:31

@TeddyBeans I tend to weigh myself daily but "official" weight in for me is a Monday.
The daily thing is a comfort that I can see the numbers go down and I know a serious jump is likely to be water, that will fall off just as quickly as I gained it.

Royalsrumbled · 30/08/2023 13:41

I gained 0.5lb but did weigh earlier in the day than ydy xx

Hyppogriff · 30/08/2023 13:47

I’m a kg too as that’s what my scales seem to be in!!
still on hols - back later in the week and will
weigh in Saturday morning and post it then - suspect it will be high as we’ve been away this week and it’s hard to lose on a holiday although I have been running when I can.
Went out for dinner and drinks last night and planned as well for tomorrow and maybe tonight so that’s not going to help! Just have to not have the stuff it mentality in between I guess and do damage limitation.

sleepismyhobby · 30/08/2023 13:48

Can I join
Sw 14 7
Cw 14
Gw 11.5
I've been doing ww online I use doing very loosely as during school holidays I feel of the wagon. Climbed back on that wagon. Today!
Good luck everyone

Hyppogriff · 30/08/2023 13:53

Welcome !

luter · 30/08/2023 16:28

Hello,
I signed up at the start of this thread, but have been away so haven't checked in.

My starting weight (mid July) was 15st 4.
I started the thread at 15st.
This morning I was 14st 8.

It's unheard of for me to lose weight over the summer holidays, so I'm really chuffed.
I've been avoiding UPF (as much as I can) and been much more mindful of what I'm eating.
I return to work on Friday so plan to get into a good routine and hopefully keep losing.

Cookiedough123 · 30/08/2023 16:59

Hi all! Back down to 14st 9.6 today.

@TeddyBeans weigh whenever you want! I weigh every day as I find it keeps me accountable and I find it really interesting watching my weight fluctuate. I also love it when I get a new low and my app updates with the new data - sad 😂

@Royalsrumbled i weigh at a similar time every morning too. I have my morning wee and before I have a drink I get on the scales!

@Hyppogriff enjoy your holiday! You can continue when you get back!

@sleepismyhobby well done on your half a stone loss already!! Brilliant!

@luter how good that you’ve lost 6lb whilst being away! We seem to be at a similar point. Do you feel any difference yet? My gym pants seem to be falling down a little bit more but not enough to change to the smaller size in my drawer 😂

@Sugarfree23 sorry I missed you off as you were the page before 😂 I think you know how you feel as you lose and if you get to your first target sometimes you enjoy having a bit of maintenance time before losing again! I lost weight a few years ago and although my target is 12st now I actually got below 10st. I was tiny but struggled to sustain it. I felt much more me between 11 & 12 stone and better in clothes etc. I have so many clothes from size 10 upto now 16! So I will probably also change my target to around the 11st mark when I get closer to it!

@luter well done great start !!!

Hyppogriff · 30/08/2023 20:25

Well done @Cookiedough123 !!
and I think the wee before the weigh in is crucial lol!
had another not golden evening (spag
bol garlid bread and rose ) BUT i am on annual leave, did a run today and planning another tomorrow. feel fatter tho doh!

luter · 30/08/2023 20:58

@Cookiedough123 - I'm starting to feel it. I hadn't weighed myself for over 2 weeks, so didn't know what to expect. I'd gone up to my heaviest in July, so was feeling very bloated, and that has gone. My clothes were starting to get tight, and they fit now.
Probably need to lose another 10lbs before I really start to notice it.
I did have a big wardrobe sort. I've only hung up the clothes that fit, I've put everything else away and will have a re-sort when I hit 14st.

Sugarfree23 · 30/08/2023 23:05

Oh it's essential to wee before weighing.
My wardrobe goes 12-16's although really I should have been in 18s at one point but I refused to buy any.
Very unflatteringly kept pouring myself into 16s.
I don't think I'll ever fit into a 10 although that said 10s are bigger than they were the last time I attempted to fit in a 10.

Hyppogriff · 31/08/2023 08:03

I’ve kept all my smaller clothes in a hope that I will need them again soon(ish!)

here’s to a good day! Rainy and miserable here today which never helps! But positive vibes to you all today!

Bumblebeebum23 · 31/08/2023 09:34

I'm exactly the same wardrobe full of clothes from size 10 to size 20!

End of the month and back to work tomorrow 😪 bit of a gain this morning 🙄 weighed in at 14st 4lbs. Really wanted to get to 14st 2lb and my 1.5 stone this month, but reminding myself that a 5lbs loss over the summer holidays is definitely a success. Back to routine tomorrow and hoping for a slim September 😊

Original start weight: 15st 9lbs

June loss: 5.5lbs
July loss: 8.5lbs
Aug loss: 5lbs

Total loss to date: 1st 5lbs.

Tally00 · 31/08/2023 09:41

I'll join, I have put on a lot this summer and realised all of my jeans are tight so rather than buying a bigger size I AM going to get back into them.

Sugarfree23 · 31/08/2023 09:43

@Bumblebeebum23
That's fab and consistent losses

I only started trying to loose mid July.
SW 13st 1.
July loss 3.4lb
August loss 3.9lb

Wish I'd got the full 4lb off in the month but really I'm happy enough at that. Just need to stick with it.

Bumblebeebum23 · 31/08/2023 09:52

@Sugarfree23 thank you. You're doing brilliantly too and you are right about the consistency. Although I am not losing huge numbers, I don't feel that I have been too restrictive and it is therefore manageable long term (hopefully 🤞). As you said...just need to keep going.

TeddyBeans · 31/08/2023 09:59

I weighed this morning but won't weigh for another week or so... It's my birthday so cake today and we're going out for dinner tonight and I'm under no illusion that the weight will go 📈 😅

100.8kg this morning so that's good, hopefully this time next week I'll be back to that or lower 🤞

Royalsrumbled · 31/08/2023 10:11

Weighed this morning and came in at 13st 5 1/2 lbs ... 1lb overall loss over 2 days despite the gain ydy!

Well done @Royalsrumbled 👏 and happy birthday @TeddyBeans enjoy your celebrations 🍾 😀

doingmyutmost · 31/08/2023 10:59

Yea please! I hit 15st earlier this year after ill health. Started intermittent fasting in May and got to 13st but fell off the wagon in late July. Weighed this morning for the first time: 13st 4lbs, so not as bad as I feared. Pre-health issues I was 8st 12lbs my entire adult life 😵 but for now any loss is an improvement, though I would love to get back into the 'healthy' BMI (<11st 4lbs).

Hyppogriff · 31/08/2023 18:03

Those are great losses !! And happy birthday have fun!
