5st to loose, 26 weeks, 1:1 diet

Hallo everyone,

Jumping on here as I have set a target to loose as much weight as possible before Christmas.

Starting stats
16st 2lbs
5ft 6
Age 39
Size 18

Due to other health issues I need a healthy BMI to qualify for a breast reduction and life insurance, both of which I'd like to have by 2024.

Target weight is 11st. Going to start on 1:1 when I'm back from working away next week so I can get my delivery, see how that goes for a couple of months.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

Xx

Ok end of week results for me

hth 1.7kg loss / ltl 2.0kg loss
average calorie target 1450 (1000 kcal deficit) -
Actual average calories 1550 (maybe 900 per day)

5kg over the last 5 weeks, total loss since diet began 10.1kg

High guys so I just got back after my holiday and the exciting news is I didn't need a seat belt extender on the flight there or back!

In terms of weight loss results clearly only an annoyingly perfect paragon of virtue like my husband would be able to lose any substantial amount of weight whilst on holiday, (he's lost 1kg!) but I'll forgive him by the time he's back from the gym.

Ok so a fortnight after I last posted results up my loss is pretty small...
high to high (0.1kg loss) low to low (0.4kg loss).
Current weight 142.7kg (loss from the start 10.5kg)

Hope everyone else is feeling good in themselves.

Hi from Lanzarote 🖐

@Hurryupharry sounds like a great plan. Plateaus can be so frustrating, but keep going, and I'm sure you'll see results.

@howdoesatoastermaketoast a loss (no matter how small) after a 2 week holiday is amazing! Well done. And great news about the seat belt, too 👍

I am back on Wednesday, so I will post my weight then. Unfortunately, I spent the first full day of my holiday with a horrendous sickness bug 🤢 not the way I wanted to control my weight this week! 😭 Luckily, it seemed only to be a 24-hour thing and have managed to enjoy the rest of the holiday.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 20/08/2023 14:44

Sorry about your tummy bug @Bumblebeebum23 ! Being ill on holiday sucks, glad you're feeling better and enjoying your holiday.

HippyChickMama · 20/08/2023 17:07

Hope everyone is okay and well done for keeping on with the plans. Official weigh in for me is tomorrow but I think I've lost another 3lb so hoping to have lost 7lb altogether in the two weeks since starting. I've managed to stay on plan, even though I've had to grab lunch out a couple of times. I've tried to make sensible choices, so I'll have a sandwich but have it with some fruit and a bottle of water, whereas I would previously have had it with crisps and an iced coffee (and potentially a chocolate bar too!). I have a work event in November and I've pulled out one of my old dresses that is two sizes smaller than I am now and hung it on my wardrobe door for motivation. I am going to do this, I need to for my health.

HippyChickMama · 21/08/2023 07:36

4lb off! 8lb in total over 2 weeks Smile
We're eating out twice this week, pub lunch on Thursday after ds gets his GCSE results and then we're going to the theatre on Saturday and will be having an early dinner after (matinee performance) so I'm planning to be very sensible the rest of the week so that I can have whatever I want from the menu without gaining any weight back. Have a good week everyone

10 st 11lb yesterday at weigh in [ started at 15 st 2lb ], that 4 lb off in two weeks. Didn't imagine that I would ever see this weight again. BMI is now almost normal. Feel so much better. Around another stone to go.

Wow! That's amazing! How long has it taken you to lose that much?

Londonnight · 22/08/2023 11:47

@HippyChickMama It's taken me just under 6 months to lose this amount. I have done step 3 on one to one diet the whole time.

HippyChickMama · 22/08/2023 12:32

@Londonnight that's brilliant, well done! I'm two weeks in (Weight Watchers) and 8lb off so far, I hope in 6 months time I can be almost 5 stone lighter (7st left to lose)

Willowview · 22/08/2023 14:46

Well deserved losses ladies x

I'm eating a low cal balanced diet during the day, then ruining well informed food choices nearly every evening by bingeing.

I have Orlistat, and have lost weight with it before, and carried on loosing when I've stopped it, I see it as a kick start, but why bother if I'm going to fudge it all up by bingeing.

I am too, like so many , an emotional eater.

Today I've had yoghurt and banana, and smoked haddock with cous cous and sweetcorn, made with a veg stock cube (yes it was too salty).

Please may I ask for tips for evening, presumably boredom bingeing. I try and rely on delayed gratification, which has worked in the past, and snack SW snack plates.

Hurryupharry · 22/08/2023 16:53

I started a 6 week gym and swim membership last week and so far so good. My weight is edging down slowly. I will do the official weigh in on Saturday, ideally I need to lose half a pound to get back on track with the 1lb a week target I have set ( for Christmas)
@Willowview I have similar issues with evening snacking/eating through boredom or reward for being ’good’ all day. I can’t account for it but my appetite seems a little depleted at the moment. I also feel that I don’t want to ruin my hard work at the gym by overeating. I am not remotely ’woo’ but I saw something the other day about manifesting (?) or visualisation. It struck a chord and I am trying to focus on what my future life looks like ( relationship 95% over ) and how I want to feel and look going forward. What are your triggers for snacking? Anything you could do to break the cycle? I find a bath tends to stop me craving carbs - in the short term at least. Good luck, we are all in the same boat really. Posting on here also helps I think, getting it out of your head a bit.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 22/08/2023 17:44

@Londonnight well done 4lb in 2 weeks is a terrific result.

@Willowview I'm doing calorie counting too, with huel as meal replacements I have a couple of tips to share which are working for me (most of the time)

  1. intermittent fasting (window is 12- 8pm for dh and 10am - 8pm for me) so we just don't eat anything after dinner.

  2. I keep half my calories to eat a substantial 'normal' dinner in the evening with the family so say I have a 1200 target for the day I might do 3 x 200kcal breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack (I find I cope better whilst cooking dinner if I eat a little something about 4pm) and then I'd still have 600 kcal left for my dinner.

Willowview · 22/08/2023 18:43

@howdoesatoastermaketoast thank you, I've not tried eating more for tea, but that ratio would suit me!
Cheers, I'll give it a bash.
X

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 23/08/2023 09:54

@Willowview good luck, hope it helps.

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/08/2023 11:13

Morning everyone....well a mixed bag of a holiday. Started off the week eating really healthily but then came down with gastro 🤢😢 as a result I then felt too scared to eat anything that could result in any food poisoning and lived mainly on bread, pizza and chips for the rest of the week. Big complaints made but not much that could be done. Such a shame.

Anyway long story short. 1lb down

14st 5lbs this morning

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 23/08/2023 12:38

@Bumblebeebum23 I then felt too scared to eat anything that could result in any food poisoning

I think that sounds really sensible, it really is the worst being ill on holiday, and I honestly think any holiday you enjoy and don't put fat on is a big win in my book.

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/08/2023 13:02

Thank you @howdoesatoastermaketoast. Such a shame because it was an expensive holiday but didn't really live up to expectations. Won't be booking with Tui again. Never mind, kids had a great time, which is the main thing. I'm glad to be back in my own kitchen though 😊

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 23/08/2023 16:28

I'm glad to be back in my own kitchen though 😊

I know exactly what you mean ;-)

Willowview · 23/08/2023 20:49

@Bumblebeebum23 sympathy from me too, that's blummin typical! How disappointing 🤒 I think you should treat yourself to something, a half day reading would be my choice, but whatever floats ya boat.

Another lb closer to target!

X

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/08/2023 21:45

@Willowview thank you. It was lovely to have family time. Just shame about the hotel! Back on it properly tomorrow 😊

Willowview · 24/08/2023 08:59

@Hurryupharry good morning, sorry, I don't know how I missed your reply, thank you. Sorry to hear about your relationship, but looking forward positively to your future sounds ace, strong lady.

I think boredom is my trigger. If I read at night instead of watching shite then I might stand a better chance. I tried eating a bigger tea last night, and that helped.

I am also crap at drinking water so that is today's goal, I may set an alarm.

I appreciate the group, it will help me. I've done SW in the past and know support is key.

X

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 24/08/2023 09:36

Indeed how are you doing in yourself @Hurryupharry? Losing weight whilst things are unsettled and unsettling would be more than I could manage I think so I really admire your attitude and fortitude.
