5st to loose, 26 weeks, 1:1 diet

Hallo everyone,

Jumping on here as I have set a target to loose as much weight as possible before Christmas.

Starting stats
16st 2lbs
5ft 6
Age 39
Size 18

Due to other health issues I need a healthy BMI to qualify for a breast reduction and life insurance, both of which I'd like to have by 2024.

Target weight is 11st. Going to start on 1:1 when I'm back from working away next week so I can get my delivery, see how that goes for a couple of months.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

Xx

Morning! Well done on all the losses.
1lb off for me this week, that's 10lb in total over 4 weeks. I'm hoping to start losing 2lb/week now the dc will be back at school and college and I won't be having so many lunches out

Willowview · 04/09/2023 08:57

Well done ladies, all closer to target, cracking!!

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk
(spojitt ) that's dedicated weight loss! Congratulations x

Londonnight · 04/09/2023 11:30

Well done to everyone on their losses.

I am 2.5lb down this week, making a total loss of 4st 10lb.

I am going away this week to a hotel with my mum which is half board, so going to be challenge to do the diet while away. Going to try to be sensible and eat healthy. I'll see what the scales say next week.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 04/09/2023 12:44

Thanks@Willowview I am (for the most part) doing well at counting and controlling my calories. It'll get harder to create a big calorie deficit as I lose weight but I'll just keep the calories and sugar low and see how it goes, resilience and mental health are key for me, and this is going to take a while, I know they'll be plenty of disappointing weeks ahead, so try not to get too excited about the weeks where the scales drop a lot. Having said that I am excited and I do want to hit 135 kg this week or next.

Also what does (spojitt ) mean please? I must have missed that one.

@Londonnight very well done, your perseverance is inspiring. Enjoy your break away with your mum.

Also good going @HippyChickMama 10lbs in 4 weeks is a convincing trend, and well done on the latest pound.

Willowview · 04/09/2023 14:45

Sounds like you have an extremely well balanced attitude towards weight loss spojitt!!! (It's an acronym of your username x)

Bumblebeebum23 · 04/09/2023 15:59

Well done everyone 👏 14st 3lbs this morning, so 1lb off since Thurs (same lb seems to be going on and off this week!). Hoping for at least a lb this week to get my 1.5 stone 🙏

Willowview · 04/09/2023 17:05

Congratulations 💐 great achievement x

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 04/09/2023 17:49

Go Bumble!
Love my nickname @Willowview although I'm a little embarrassed I had to ask lol.

Willowview · 04/09/2023 18:00

Not at all lol on reflection it seems pretty random 🤭🤣🙏 x

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 06/09/2023 10:54

How is everyone feeling in themselves?

caffelattetogo · 06/09/2023 11:26

I am stuck - 3 stone down but I can't seem to get the scales to move. Still doing the same low carb and IF. Maybe I need a change?

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 06/09/2023 19:06

Sorry @caffelattetogo that's really demoralising. Same thing happened to me on a diet 20 years back. What I didn't know then and you may not know now is the amount of calories required to maintain your weight is strongly impacted by what your weight is. Therefore as you lose weight the calories required to maintain that weight also fall.

My maintenance calories are probably at least 2500 (because I'm currently 137kg) which is a big part of why without necessarily eating better than anyone else I'm losing weight quickly on 1200 Kcal a day.

at 14 st a 35 yo woman doing some light exercise a couple of times a week would need 2157 kcal to maintain her weight, but if her weight dropped to 11st she would only need 1895.

Assuming she was eating 1850 kcal of food a day she would start out with a solid 300 kcal a day deficit and lose 0.3 kg a week (about 2/3rd of a poiund a week) but as her weight dropped the deficit would disappear and the weight loss would stop.

A calculator like this one helps me https://tdeecalculator.net/
but if you don't want to get into that you probably need to adjust to eat at least 300 less calories a day to achieve the same weight loss as when you started.

Or dramatically step up the exercise, or a bit of both.

I'm feeling very sorry for myself because the glands in my neck are very swollen and painful. Really hurts 😢. However, I have had lots of compliments on my weight loss this week (after returning to work) so that's keeping me motivated 😊

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 06/09/2023 23:31

yay for the compliments @Bumblebeebum23 sorry to hear about your swollen glands.

Willowview · 09/09/2023 06:28

Morning lovely ladies x

I bought some new scales, have been using Mums, top and the bottom of it, I've put on, but still down overall.

SW 17st 7lb
CW 17st 5lb,

First week fluke not worth mentioning, 2lb down overall.

Thinking of you all x

Bumblebeebum23 · 09/09/2023 08:04

Well done @Willowview 😊 I am still feeling absolutely rubbish 🤒 Went to the doctors yesterday and I have a blocked salivary gland under my tongue. It is so painful and uncomfortable. The only bonus is that it hurts so much to eat and drink that there hasn't been any desire to overeat. I did a sneaky early weigh in this morning and I'm 14st 0.25lbs so over a stone and a half lost now and so close to moving out of the 14s. Really hoping I'm feeling better soon, though, because it is miserable 😕

Hurryupharry · 09/09/2023 08:06

Morning everyone 😎. I am not someone who enjoys the heat. My absolute least favourite thing is being sweaty. It makes me feel grumpy. Yesterday with a combination of the temperature and a horrible cold I sweated all day… I mention this because this morning I am down on the scales 🥳

I can’t remember what I logged as my thread starting weight because I had already been trying for a while before joining you.

May SW 17st.8lbs
CW 15st.13lbs
Next target 15st
GW 13st

Well done Willowview, changing scales can be a pain but you’re heading in the right direction.

Hurryupharry · 09/09/2023 08:09

@Bumblebeebum23 oh gosh a blocked salivary gland sounds horrible. Let’s hope that it clears soon. Fantastic weight loss ⭐️. It’s always a boost to see the next stone number down appear.

Bumblebeebum23 · 09/09/2023 08:17
