Hi all,

I had my 3rd dose on Sunday. I hadn't had any weight loss at all until I weighed myself today. 2kg down, so I'm pleased with that. I have at least 20kg to lose, so in it for the long haul.

I need to investigate buying some needles and a sharps bin (I've been using a Tupperware box in the meantime.

I haven't really had too many side effects. A bit of constipation to begin with, very explosive diarrhoea last night (possibly accounts for the 2kg loss), some indigestion. None of it too severe though. I only really noticed any appetite suppression on Monday after my 3rd dose.

I'm planning on eking out the .25mg pen for an extra 2 weeks to use up the excess, but my first pen took a week to arrive so I will order a new one next week. Who is doing the best value at the moment? I think I will try to order the 1mg pen and use the click counting method.

I don't post often, but do read all the posts, so well done to everyone on their progress and thanks to those who share their knowledge.

We are at a similar stage, I took my third shot on Tuesday. I've lost 5.5lb according to my weigh in on Tuesday and another couple of lb this morning thanks mainly to an explosion on the loo 😂 Minimal side effects, minor nausea and constipation but nothing too concerning.
If you've not used Juniper yet I have a £50 code if you need one.

Beenalongwinter · 06/04/2023 09:09

I have just used the last dose
Of my first pen. What a revelation this experience has been.

I seem to have settled down in to a definite pattern of loss now.

I am now loosing a pound a day although it fluctuates a little depending on liquid intake. The scales are consistently showing a difference each morning 10,9,8,7 lbs which makes eating less easier.

I think the biggest help aha been upping my water intake , which I am doing with mainly herbal tea.

Not sure who I am placing my next order with , Manual have been great to begin with but I may PM someone for a code once I have sone a little more research.

I've got a Juniper one if you need it

Yesterday I took my second 0.25 dose and weighed. I'm down 2kg in one week. I've been cutting right back on carbs and fat and eating more protein, fruit, veg and baked beans. I think I can keep this up. Just one spag bol meal with spaghetti in the week. Eating a lot of chicken breasts and salmon with veg.

CLEO42 · 06/04/2023 10:09

I've just ordered for the first time. I'm a bit scared now having read a couple of PP accounts of explosive diarrhoea! How urgent was this on a scale of '10 minute warning with time to find a loo' to 'disgraced myself in public'?

😊

That's great @LittleDitto, as long as mine comes today I am starting tonight.

Brave starting just before Easter 😂

TheWayOfTheWorld · 06/04/2023 12:00

Dim question - I've clicked on the Manual site but it's men's health. Do they assess and sell to women?

Also wondering what the difference is with My Juniper?

Inthebathagain · 06/04/2023 12:35

What am I missing? Orlistat only being offered after the assessment on manual and there doesn't seem to be an option for the GP assessment for Ozempic.

Please help.

Is your bmi over 30?

Is your BMI high enough? Who is this with?

Sleepdeprived42long · 06/04/2023 13:15

Third dose this morning. 0.7kg lost in 2nd week (2.1kg total). I definitely felt the appetite suppression not as effective this week and I did feel myself reaching for the high carb/sugary stuff again. No side effects really apart from some bloating.

I probably need to shop around for my second pen. Used Manual for first order. If anyone has a discount code, can they PM me? Also any links to the extra needles (can only see boxes of 100 on Amazon!)?

TheGoodEnoughWife · 06/04/2023 13:28

That is a concern @BitzandBobz.

Do you feel you have a better relationship with food now? Are you calorie counting? How is your thyroid?

I think you have done well to stick at it for four months. Although I suppose not max dose till month three.

Are you properly calorie counting everything you eat? Including weighing out butter for bread etc?

im shocked you wouldn’t have lost at that weight even without ozempic. Does sound like it might not be agreeing with you though.

Sameiam · 06/04/2023 13:39

6lbs is still 21,000 calories worth of effort.

Have you had your thyroid etc tested by your doctor? If you are eating sub 1500 calories a day you should have lost more. I’ve lost the same as you in three weeks, with a much lower bmi and pcos to make life harder.

exercise definitely isn’t needed to make the scales move, so it won’t be that you haven’t done much there.

Maybe you’re one of the people who needs to be on the full wegovy dose (2.4? 2.5?) to lose. I imagine there’s a reason the weight loss approved dose is much higher than the approved off label ozempic one. Although if the sides effects are hideous then it might not be worth it.

keto worked really well for me and my insulin resistance but was much more restrictive and still easy to over eat fats if you’re not careful. I did find it reduced my hunger simply because my blood sugar didn’t spike without any of the side effects of ozempic.
