Hi all. I can't seem to get hold of the 0.5 pen. I have already gone up to 0.5 dose with the extra dose in my 0.25 pen. Health Express are sold out and everywhere I looked would only allow a 0.25 pen as I was a new starter in their eyes I think.

I ordered from Manual yesterday and I called them. They said to go back to a 0.25 dose. I'm just wondering if anyone has gone down in dosage and it still work for them?

Quickmeds has the 0.5 pen in stock (but not 0.25 or 1). There is a generic message on the 0.25 about ozempic being suspended but since it isn’t on the 0.5 I’d try your luck? Take5 should give you £5 off as well.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 26/04/2023 10:34

I got a 0.5ml pen delivered from Health Express yesterday, does it come up with a sold out message or just not present the 0.5 option in the drop down?

I had selected No on the 'have you previously taken any medication to help with weight loss' question so the 0.5 option wasn't available just the 0.25. For some reason I interpreted it as any other different types of weight loss meds.

Hi 👋🏻
I started last Wed night and am thrilled to be 4 lbs down already! Def eating less due to less food chatter, and not many side effects apart from horrific nausea after drinking wine. Will inject again tonight. Can't wait to actually start to look different but know I have to be patient

OohBurnDavid · 26/04/2023 11:18

I started last Tuesday night and am also 4lbs down. Happy with that and happy with the reduced appetite and cravings.

SayHelloWaveGoodbye · 26/04/2023 11:32

Tentatively writing my first ever words on MN! I started Ozempic last Wednesday evening… It’s so nice to be able to go to fridge and not want to stuff my face with the chocolate that resides within! No awful side effects, funny taste in my mouth sometimes and the occasional volley of burps 🥴 For a few days I was almost forcing myself to eat- no appetite at all. I’ve lost just over 5 pounds, so am delighted! 2nd dose later today so will see what happens….. 😬🤞🏻

I interpreted it exactly the same! Had to email them and they said you need to put you’d had the previous dose. Once I did the dose I needed came up.

Janie934 · 26/04/2023 13:07

Took my second dose last night and so far no side effects....hoping that continues.

Lost 7lb in my first week, which takes total loss (I starting calorie counting a few weeks prior) to 12lb.

In a non scale victory my resting heart rate has fallen from 86 to 72 over the last month. I'm not sure if it's the weight loss or the daily walk but either way I'm happy.

I've previously ordered through QuickMeds but they're still having stock issues so someone kindly shared their Juniper referral code with me yesterday. I'm currently on 1mg and they were happy to prescribe me another 1mg rather than be treated as a new starter on 0.25mg. Ordered yesterday and should be getting new pen tomorrow, assume I'll get a set of scales too....not sure how i explain that one to other half as he doesn't know I'm on Oz still!

polopolopolopoo · 26/04/2023 18:12

@RebelGeek76 that's good news that you can go straight to 1mg and great news that Juniper have stock 👍👍

SarahC50 · 26/04/2023 19:04

Just takeny first 0.5mg injection owee it was nippy. Really hoping I don't get a return of the vile side effects I had when first started x

Has anyone found themselves feeling the cold more since starting ozempic?

Good luck, the box is also enormous! Way, way bigger than the quickmeds one, was such a waste.

I asked this very thing last night! I'm in week 2 now and last night was very cold! Not like chills, just cold.

Glad it's not just me. I normally run warm but for the last week I've been cold all the time.

I havent had other side effects so only just occurred to me it might be connected.

FMLWTF · 26/04/2023 22:27

My gosh, this is me too. Absolutely freezing at the moment. Last night I slept in pyjamas with a hoodie AND my dressing gown!

Beenalongwinter · 27/04/2023 07:49

My juniper order has arrived, the box is huge but the scales are fab . I will Share a photo later.
Pm me if you need a £50 Juniper code.

I took my fourth 0.25 dose on Tuesday night. I'm not noticing much effect and the food noise is back. I think I'm ready to move up to 0.5 dose next week.

I have a question for those who've been on Ozempic a while and had minimal to no side effects eg didn't feel the appetite suppression until fully titrated up and have still lost huge amounts of weight - what was the biggest change for you (That caused the weight loss) ?

For the record I am putting in the work by counting calories and exercising at least 3 times a week already.

@Peridot1 I'm tagging you as I seem to think you may have had a similar experience

Peridot1 · 27/04/2023 09:13

Hi @UsernameFail - I think for me it was quantity really that made the most difference. I had had a really bad relationship with diets etc over the years and had ended up feeling quite bad about it all mentally so I didn’t want to go back to a place of counting calories etc so I just ate normally but my appetite was much less. If I bought a sandwich I was happy with half of it and I’d have the rest for another meal. My evening meal could probably be served on a side plate and even then I might not finish it. As I knew I was eating so much less I did try to make sure it was healthy and balanced with protein and lots of veg and some fruit. To be honest I’ve drunk wine throughout. I love a biscuit with a cup of tea after lunch and I still have that most days.

with regard to feeling the appetite suppression I felt it straight away really but I started on 0.5 as that was what the supplier I used recommended at the time for weight loss. My side effects were and still are mainly constipation. Occasionally sulphur burps and heartburn. Slight queasiness if I need to eat.

I haven’t done any exercise. Although I have just signed up to a 60 day strength training programme - and then got injured in week one so that’s on hold!

Hope that helps. Have you listened to the Zoe podcast? It’s definitely worth a listen. Or you can read the transcript of it.

UsernameFail · 27/04/2023 09:30

Hi @Peridot1
Thank you for responding so quickly.

I read the transcript of the Zoe podcast and thought it was excellent! I've often questioned whether I had an 'off' button with food and now I know there's a hormone that does this.

I too have had a lifetime of diets (first diet age 8) and swinging between healthy and unhealthy eating habits, comfort eating, general lover of good food. I've been calorie counting since Dec but due to being peri the weight hasn't shifted.

I know I have to trust the process but im finding it tough when I've had four days of being ravenous.
It will be interesting to see what happens next week when I move up a dose.

RausageSoul · 27/04/2023 09:40

Hi team! I'm due to move up to .5 but my supplier (rightangeled) are out of stock! Does anyone have a juniper code?

I think FRIEND50 still works, they aren't doing the refer a friend thing anymore so you don't need anyone's name.

Peridot1 · 27/04/2023 09:41

No problem @UsernameFail. I can imagine it’s hard being hungry when you assume everyone else in it isn’t! But as you know 0.25 is low. But you’ve done the right thing following the process. Make sure you are eating enough protein and healthy fats. That will fill you up. If I’m hungry in the afternoons I tend to have a piece of fruit and a Babybel cheese. Or a slice of ham spread with Philadelphia cheese and rolled up. And a cup of tea. Tends to keep me going. And I usually only need that if I haven’t had enough protein at lunch.

MiniCooperLover · 27/04/2023 09:41

Had my first sulphur burp yesterday !! It's a shame it was as I was fast asleep and I was so shocked I thought I was going to be sick so ran to the bathroom but thankfully nothing happened. Think I had too many carbs yesterday (and a glass of wine last night too) and they disagreed and caused it. Tired now ..
