What a money making racket juniper/manual etc. are. Ozempic costs the NHS £73.25 for 4 weeks treatment.

Which is roughly the list price for Wegovy so I’m not expecting massive price drops. Such a mark up is ridiculous. Hopefully bigger players like Boots et al. will force price drops as there will be more suppliers.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 22/04/2023 19:37

FRIEND50 works for Juniper. They don't do codes that give the provider of a code a discount too anymore, so you won't need anyone's personal code or details.

Fortheloveofus · 22/04/2023 19:38

When is Wegovy coming on market? I'll have to Google about it. Will most of us still not qualify for it?

iontheprize · 22/04/2023 21:06

@EightMonthsScared I've sent you a PM

Hi all, joining this thread now. My ozempic package arrived, (a few days ago), and I am yet to take it.
I have a horrible craving for sugary/ sweet foods. Will this turn that craving off?
Tia

It has stopped it for me. I had two wine gums earlier and that’s the only sweet stuff I’ve had in five days. I would never usually stop at two.

Movinghouseatlast · 22/04/2023 22:20

It's totally stopped my desire for chocolate, after 50 years of being unable to go a day without it.

RausageSoul · 22/04/2023 23:51

I've lost all cravings for snacks, and more importantly my vape! I've seen some other accounts say the same too

WhyDoesItAlways · 23/04/2023 00:03

I lost cravings for vaping and diet coke. I still occasionally get a sugar craving but don't eat nearly as much as I used to.

RausageSoul · 23/04/2023 00:07

It's actually liberating to go to the shops and not fixate on the crappy snacks. Same for fizzy juice, I was a Pepsi max fiend and now it just makes me burp and I don't even think about it

UsernameFail · 23/04/2023 08:06

I too have lost the cravings for sugary stuff.

I am presently injecting on a Monday and want to move my day as I'm finding it's wearing off by the weekend.
According to instructions it says: the day of administration can be changed as long as the time between two doses is at least two days (<48hrs)

Does that mean I can move my dose to Weds or do I take a dose on Monday and a dose on Weds?

AutisticLegoLover · 23/04/2023 09:04

Ffs it doesn't wear off! It's a cumulative effect building up in your body over time. It's been posted on these threads many times and links given about how the drug works. Appetite suppression is a side effect just like nausea. Some get it, some don't. Sometimes you have it, sometimes you don't. It can take 3 months to reach full effectiveness. Read the information given.

UsernameFail · 23/04/2023 09:19

Apologies @AutisticLegoLover for using the incorrect term by saying it wears off, when asking a question, but there is no need for your rant !!

I am fully aware of the half life and that it builds up in my system.

I have also read the instructions and am merely asking a question because I can't figure out the answer on the leaflet which I've typed out. Meia Culpa.

As an aside, I completed agree with what you said on the other post about people not researching the product and looking for quick fixes.

Fortheloveofus · 23/04/2023 09:45

@AutisticLegoLover no need for the attitude. It stinks. This thread is here so people can share their stories and ask questions if they need to. Sometimes we frame our sentences/questions wrongly - we're not scientists or doctors - but we're not committing a sin. We're looking for confirmation and reassurance sometimes. This thread has been a real lifeline for me since I started but if everyone replied to me in the same way you just did, I wouldn't have posted a second time.

Fortheloveofus · 23/04/2023 09:49

@UsernameFail hi, lots of people have reported they don't feel the effects last all week so you're not alone. I wouldn't take two doses in one week, I'd just delay by a day or two if that's what you'd like to do. Although I did ask my Manual coach about this the other day and she said it is better to keep to same day (but not essential), your body will get used to it and it will build up over time, sometimes taking 3 months to have any effect. I'm 10 days in and not noticing any difference in my appetite.
Good luck 💐

I'd probably try and move it by a day each week over two weeks. So inject Tuesday this week and then Wednesday the next.

UsernameFail · 23/04/2023 10:02

Thanks @Fortheloveofus and @LadyFarnborough for responding. The wording on the leaflet just doesn't make sense to me.

I too have read multiple times people are feeling less of the effects as the week goes on; I'm also aware Manual suggest taking Glucomannan days 4-7 to help you feel fuller longer.

I might move it a day each week as LadyF suggested. I've read long term users talking about being extremely tired on bigger doses and am thinking ahead

LadyFarnborough · 23/04/2023 10:06

Also, while I know the drug doesn't 'wear off', I do notice that my appetite suppression is strongest in the couple of days after injection and less strong in the couple of days before. I'm not eating everything in sight but do definitely feel a bit more hungry. Could be psychosomatic, could be a real thing. Who knows. But I'm also still titrating up and not on the optimal dose yet. And everyone reacts differently too.

Er, it does wear off throughout the week though; that’s how something with a half life of a week works. If you inject ten units of something on the Monday, by the following Monday only half will remain in the system.

GlowG · 23/04/2023 11:12

And to pre-empt the anticipated comeback: yes, after six weeks or so it has build up to a steady state, and yet there will still be a boost on injection day and for a few days after. Which will wear off.

SanRaz1 · 23/04/2023 12:44

Hi, I wanted to ask where people are currently buying Ozempic from. Looking for a company who has little or no problems with stock. I’ve been wanting to start this for a long time but supply issues has put me off. Thanks in advance xx

Sameiam · 23/04/2023 12:52

Week five! Have now lost 5.7kg/12.5lbs and my bmi is now 26.4. Sometimes been a hit gassy but no other side effects.

ordered 1mg pen from quickmeds last week and was approved Wednesday but not shipped yet. :( they’re now saying out of stock so fingers crossed I still get it

Twilightstarbright · 23/04/2023 13:00

I notice it wears off by day 5 so I’m going to try glucomannan.

In terms of pricing, I think it will drop but it’s just market economics. I get a couple of prescriptions privately whilst waiting for my NHS referrals and the price varies a lot depending on which pharmacy I use. The NHS uses its buying power to negotiate incredible prices and the private suppliers can’t compete. Plus they are a profit making business. I wish it was cheaper for my own benefit but I can understand why it isn’t. Plus look at the demand!

Apparently there’s about 12 very similar drugs in trial/development so I think the price will drop as more become available.

I can’t remember who asked but my cravings have improved massively. I suspect regulating my blood sugars has helped with that.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 23/04/2023 20:14

Taking my first dose tonight. Will drink plenty of water tomorrow and focus on protein and whole foods. Any other immediate tips?!

I would take a fibre supplement like psyllium husk daily. I have a teaspoon in a glass of water first thing. Psyllium is great as it moves steadily through the body so can minimise constipation and diarrhoea.
