worriedgasper Yes it's fine with HRT, I asked the QuickMeds pharmacist.

Tillymintxx · 20/04/2023 16:51

Hi! I started on 0.5mg last month and moved up to 1mg this month. My bmi is over 40. I’m seeing no change in my appetite whatsoever, just headaches. Just took my second dose of the 1mg pen and wondering if it’ll ever work for me at all 😞

OzzyTrier · 20/04/2023 16:54

Thanks @Molly499

I do have fresh ginger in the fridge. I can make some tea.

Fortheloveofus · 20/04/2023 17:23

@Tillymintxx sorry you don't feel like it has worked for you yet. Did you skip the .25 month altogether? Was that on advice from your GP/supplier?
I had a conversation with a coach from my supplier earlier today who told me that it can 3 months to start working. If you feel side effects, it's your body getting used to it. She also said try not compare my own journey with others cos I haven't been feeling any appetite suppression yet, although I have started feeling nauseous etc. She said three months minimum is what they tell everyone, although some people do notice a difference earlier than that, or even straight away.
I hope you start to notice a difference soon 💐

Fortheloveofus · 20/04/2023 14:54

@Twiglets1 I know. I'm aware how hypocritical i sound. I think I'd care less about the side effects if I wasn't still permanently hungry. I usually go gym thursday lunchtime but missed today because i havent an ounce of emergy. I did lose 3lb last week but I do think that was the 3lb i put on over the Easter holidays, I'm still back to the dreaded 11st I can't move on from during last last few years. And I had to walk 10k a day and go gym a lot to achieve that. Let's see what this week brings.

Sorry if my message came across like I think you are being hypocritical- I honestly don’t. It’s just a strange drug as it affects people so differently. Hope you get the appetite suppression very soon

Fortheloveofus · 20/04/2023 18:16

@Twiglets1 no, I don't think that at all. You've been a great support over last week or so and I really appreciate your posts. I'm just aware I come across as negative sometimes 💐

okayah · 20/04/2023 18:53

Hello, I have been approved by Quickmeds for 2.5mg, before I purchase does anyone have a referral code please? Many thanks x

ZiggZagg · 20/04/2023 19:11

On week 5 and 13lbs down. Haven't really had bad side effects but have abdominal cramps and the squits today as well as some funky burps! Hope it subsides soon Confused

Does anyone else get a strange metallic taste after injecting?
Just done my 2nd jab & within 5-10 mins the odd taste appeared, I had it after the 1st jab but thought it was just my imagination 😂
It was gone by morning last time, so hopefully will be gone when I wake up.

Have you had a look at this series of threads, from the original “I started ozempic last night”? There’s a lot to read but a lot of information and support.

Yeah, I've had a nasty taste in my.mouth. but it lingers. Not pleasant.

Peridot1 · 21/04/2023 08:15

I know it’s been shared before but I finally got around to listening to the Zoe podcast on Ozempic yesterday on a train journey and found it very interesting. For anyone on it or thinking of taking it I would really recommend having a listen or reading the transcript here.

I have been taking it for over a year and learned things I didn’t know. Especially in relation to what is likely to happen when I stop taking it.

ZOE Podcast: Can Ozempic (Semaglutide) Solve Weight Loss?

Jonathan speaks to Dr. Robert Kushner, the lead investigator of a huge recent trial, about whether semaglutide really is a game-changing treatment for obesity.

Hiya! Does anybody have a code that I can use please?

UsernameFail · 21/04/2023 14:02

Incredible result @ZiggZagg ! Well done.

I've been away and having my first weigh in tomorrow after almost 3 weeks

My clothes feel loser so fingers crossed

OohBurnDavid · 21/04/2023 15:48

@ZiggZagg great result! Have you been eating the same kind of foods but less or have you been going for different foods to usual?

ZiggZagg · 21/04/2023 15:57

Similar foods really, just much less! I do tend to eat quite healthily, lower carb etc but do tend to eat too much and snack a lot. However I did have a chippy tea the other night and ended up on the loo all day yesterday so I think I'll remember that next time I'm tempted haha!

Hopefully it will have an impact on the scales tomorrow.

Ordered my first 1mg pen from Quick Meds today due for delivery Tuesday but I will keep on with the 0.5mg as long as it's working for me.

Fortheloveofus · 21/04/2023 17:49

Can I ask if anyone has had any bad side-effects from alcohol? Apart from hangovers of course! I've got a few events and weekends away coming up. Manual coach says it's fine to have a drink or two but would like to hear from personal experience too?

NigellaAwesome · 21/04/2023 17:55

Hi everyone, it's great to read of all the successes.

I have done my 4 weeks of .25mg and I moved on to 0.5mg on Sunday. I have had minimal side effects, and tbh I haven't really seen much progress on the scales. I have lost about 2kg in the 5 weeks since I started. I've noticed a reduced appetite, and some days I only really bother with 1 meal a day. I would really have liked to see more progress, but I suppose I need to be patient.

I already had an under active thyroid, and then between menopause & HRT I think it has made it worse (with a bit of grief eating for the last year too).

I used the last 2 doses of my 0.25mg pen, and I have a 1mg pen waiting for me in the fridge - I am planning to count clicks to try to save a bit of £££. I will look it up, but if anyone can remind me about how many clicks to count that would be great.

I've found I'm more sensitive to alcohol. I start to feel the effect after half a glass of wine now. Previously that would have had no effect on me. I can drink a couple of glasses of wine spread out over several hours but any more than that leaves me feeling dog rough the next day.

I went out last Sunday and drank (a lot!) didn't feel as drunk as I would normally but did throw up several times later on in the night Envy but then carried on dancing and drinking water! Although I would say that experience appears to be the exception rather than the rule from what I've read!

Peridot1 · 21/04/2023 18:09

Sadly @Fortheloveofus i am fine with alcohol! I know some people react more but I’m honestly ok. I say sadly as I think it would be better for me to have to abstain!

@NigellaAwesome - I’m going to be a bit evangelical about it but listen to the Zoe podcast. It’s really interesting and explains a lot about how and why it works and that it can take longer for some people.
