I feel like I’m starting to be able to listen to my body better, and probably on target for a much lower calorie day today. I’m trying to eat a bit later and not eat after dinner so really 16:8. I’m ready to feel hungry again in the next day or so as I’m due my second dose on Thursday. I’ll be doing it in the afternoon though rather than evening as that’s more manageable for me than in general.

Yesterday was so tricky. I was hungry around 11 so had something light. Then we were at a party in the afternoon. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so little at a party before ever 😂 I didn’t really need my dinner, and wish I could have just skipped, but had a half portion. Don’t want DD to see me just not eat, so it’s such a battle. Even though I didn’t over indulge at the party, it wasn’t really ideal! Hey ho. I’d rather be sensible around what life throws at me while I’ve got it building up in my system.

It’s my birthday tomorrow and we’re meeting my dad for lunch. Going to have a salad or a steak and salad. Then mum coming round for tea and it’s pizzas, but we’re getting some to share and it’s not a really greasy place so I should be able to just have a couple of pieces and that will be fine!

I’ve definitely realised that I continue to get more full after the meal has finished if that makes sense.

I’ve been approved by Juniper and just need to press confirm. I used the code kindly provided by someone on here and £145 was taken last night but it’s saying £195, they’re not going to try and take another £50 are they?

It was £145 in the basket, very unlikely to be £195 you clicked to purchase at £145.

Sorry I've not replied to anyone,. I've not felt as hungry last couple if days but this might be because I've had a very stressful weekend plus doing lots of distracting techniques such as going for walks etc. Another 10000 steps today. Actually looking forward to taking 2nd jab on Wednesday to see what it brings (and I'll do it properly thls time, prime it snd count to 6). I've also managed to book a phone call in with Manual consultant Thursday morning so if I learn anything useful, I'll pass it on.
I feel in a better frame of mind today, more positive and just think, it'll happen when it happens. I always knew it wasn't going to be a quick fix.

Peridot1 · 17/04/2023 16:54

Glad you are in a better frame of mind @Fortheloveofus. I on the other hand am having one of those hungry days! All I want to do is eat! I was due my injection today which I’ve done but I still feel hungry. Trying to be sensible.

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 17:08

@Peridot1 that's a shame. I hope taking 2nd dose will kick the hunger into touch. Let us know how you're getting on, if you see any difference over next couple of days. Remind me again hoe long you've been on it and how mich you've lost?

Peridot1 · 17/04/2023 17:18

@Fortheloveofus - I’ve been on it for over a year. Since Feb last year. I’ve lost 3 stone but have basically plateaued since Christmas. Was away for a month. Messed around with dosages and frequency of the injections. So I’m now back on 1mg once a week for a few weeks to get back to steady state. Then I will up my dose again if I need to. Today I think I just didn’t really eat enough protein with breakfast and lunch. In fact I just had soup for lunch.

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 17:27

3 stone is amazing. Well done @Peridot1 . Hope you manage to get back on an even keel. You've been a great support so far. Thank you x

DrMadelineMaxwell · 17/04/2023 18:32

My receipt from juniper also says 195 but they def only took 145.

I'm panicking reading headlines that ozempic which I'm on causes more muscle loss than fat loss. So you lose more muscle so end up lighter but less healthy. Ffs has anyone else read thisx

Twilightstarbright · 17/04/2023 19:36

@SarahC50 where did you read that? I’m focusing on strength training exercises to help reduce muscle loss. Jillian Michaels is a good place to start, or Pilates. Personally I love barre classes.

I mean yes, of course it will. All weight loss will to some extent, if you don’t focus on protein and do some weight/resistance training you might find that even though you’ve lost weight you’ve gone from 35 to 40% body fat. Id say even then there just isn’t a way of cutting calories drastically without losing muscle.

I figure I’ll do what I can when I’m on ozempic, expect to have a bit of a bounce when I come off, and then seriously focus on a lot of protein and gym work when my calories are back to maintenance.

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 20:17

I'm concentrating on light/moderate weights at gym and lots of walking. It's always recommended people my age (early 50s and menopausal) to gain lean muscle so I'm hoping this will help with the loss of muscle advertised - balance it out maybe?

Talking about upping protein, and sorry to go off topic slightly, but I love eggs, they're so versatile but I can't get any in the supermarkets for the life of me. Anyone having same problem? I'm eating a lot of chicken and cod etc, but just miss my omelette. I can't even gey cartons of egg whites

AngryAngel · 17/04/2023 20:48

@Fortheloveofus There is a shortage at the moment because of bird flu. Apparently it is a short term shortage (??). My local small Sainsbury's had none but a bigger Tesco around the corner had plenty on the same day. It seems really random. I love eggs too.

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 20:55

@AngryAngel thank you. None in my big tesco, asda or aldi. I'll have a run around some independent locals tomorrow I think

Post on local Facebook group, nearly always people with a few chickens in every area that may sell
you some eggs

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 21:23

@Adarajames brilliant idea, thank you.

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 21:35

Anyone want a Manual referral code, please PM me. Just so you know how it worked for me: I placed order on Bank holiday Monday. On same day I was asked if I wanted them to get in touch with GP or to provide them with full length photo and ID. I chose the latter. Order was approved that afternoon. Order was dispatched on Tuesday snd I received it around 3pm Weenesday.

EddieHoweisMYmanager · 17/04/2023 21:41

Just thinking ahead to next month, do people stick with Juniper or is there anywhere a bit cheaper with current supply?

The Manual code only works for supplements, doesn’t give a discount on ozempic sadly

Fortheloveofus · 17/04/2023 22:37

@Adarajames I know, someone's just told me😭

@Lostinalibrary

The codes actually still work for new purchases but there are no benefits to the person sending them, posters are just trying to be helpful to others.

Oh I didn't realise this!

It's really important to focus on this.
Make sure you are getting enough protein. Unfortunately most people do not realise how much you really need. The odd egg or two isn't enough.
Gabrielle Lyon (a qualified specialist) goes into details for how much you need.
You need to be doing weights too or some strength training.
I've been a bit slack with this but aiming to refocus this week.
I'm stopping Ozempic now as I'm at my goal weight.

I started with Manua using the introductory offer then swopped to Juniper because of the £50 discount.
It's worth trying Health express the price is very competitive , however they never seem to have any stock when I try.
When I cancelled with Manual they immediately offered me a better price I may well swop back , they seem to be efficient with despatch. It is so stressful worrying you might run out.
The Manual site is a bit confusing because it looks like it's for men but if you complete the weight loss questionnaire they eventually offer you Ozempic.
