@BitzandBobz I'm really sorry to hear this hasn't worked out for you. My BMI is the same as you. I hope you don't mind an unsolicited suggestion - have you ever tried the Whole30 or Zoe Harcombe? Both have been very successful for me in the past (but I'm not in the right headspace at the moment to commit - bereavement is a shit to deal with). Whilst they cary in approach a bit, they both focus on potential food intolerances being at the root of a lot of health and weight issues, and I have found both authors write in a very clear way when explaining things. Good luck ☘

Hope that everyone managed to resist the Easter temptations and nobody feels too sick!

I’ve eaten badly all weekend so doubt I’ve lost anything this week. Still, almost time to go up to 0.5 so I imagine that’ll make it harder to eat quite as much. Also going to be a bit healthier now Easter is over vs just having smaller portions of unhealthy food.

NigellaAwesome · 09/04/2023 20:48

I would also be interested in a quickmeds code if anyone has one?

Abyss23 · 09/04/2023 21:58

@NigellaAwesome SAVE5 gets you £5 off.

Amazonmulu · 10/04/2023 07:12

My 4th shot of 0.25 is due on Wednesday but the effect has worn off completely.

Do you guys think is safe / wise / ok to take my 4th jab early? And then take another 0.25 in 5d?

SueTirza · 10/04/2023 07:33

I understand why you are asking this but I would keep to the plan - I know with my own journey, I have had days when I have felt that it wasn’t working and then the next day nausea and very little appetite for no reason at all. I would reach out to my prescriber if I were you.

Beenalongwinter · 10/04/2023 07:38

@Oooiwanna

I placed an order with Manual on Saturday for a (half price blood test) to mainly check my vitamin D levels and I was surprised it was approved yesterday (Easter Sunday) Manual must have pharmacist/s working over the weekend.
Hopefully your order will arrive Wednesday.

Manual code below for half price vitamins and blood tests, in case anyone is looking.

Thank you - I think deep down I know that's the right thing to do. I'll see how the next dose goes. I was going to try stay on 0.25 as long as I could but I think I'm not one of the lucky people that it's sufficient for.

SilkySuky · 10/04/2023 08:10

Had some wine yesterday and feel like hell this morning. I know others have reported adverse effects from drinking alcohol, I think it might be the huge increase in sugar as I've been pretty low sugar while taking semaglutide but does anyone have any other insight?

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 10/04/2023 08:29

Good Morning,
I've lost another 3lbs this week. 18.5lbs in six weeks. Very pleased. I've even eaten out this week but made them my only meals that day which has helped.

In five weeks sorry, not six. My mistake!

Twilightstarbright · 10/04/2023 08:58

Well done @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa

@LemonPledge555 same here, I’m pleasantly surprised Manual seem to be processing things over the weekend as I expected to hear zilch until Tuesday.

i imagine the ozempic is also dehydrating you to an extent which is the largest contributor in feeling rough the next morning. Try electrolytes and more fluids before drinking next time and see if it helps?

it may also have dropped your blood sugar and made you feel bad that was as well, but probably not massively if you only had a bit.

The time to steady state plasma is
part of the the manufacturer's product information for Ozempic too. The frequency of the dosage is as much a part of its successful dosing as the amount taken 🙂@Beenalongwinter @DrMadelineMaxwell @Peridot1 @TheGoodEnoughWife

Does this mean once a week is better than twice a week?

mumwheresmyribena · 10/04/2023 10:38

@Beenalongwinter It means that if you dose more often you wouldn't achieve a steady state. The amount of the drug in your system will fluctuate, your endocrine system would have to adapt rapidly and your kidneys and liver would have more to do to eliminate the drug. All of the testing was done using a stready state model (as I think is common for most meds) and the safety and efficacy info is based on that.

I may be taking this drug off-label but I'm not really up for not taking rash chances with my health especially with a relatively novel drug, especially if I haven't given the researched method a decent chance. It may be more effective to split the dose, though it would appear that it could eventually lead to an overdose (or at least very expensive pee). I'll leave it to others to experiment with their own health and money 😄

Peridot1 · 10/04/2023 10:51

It’s interesting @mumwheresmyribena. As I said up thread I was splitting the dose as it was recommended by the supplier I was using. In fact one of the people running the FB group (so employed by the supplier) was taking 0.5 every three days. And lost 7 stone. So I took it at face value. But it’s not working for me. I did really well on 0.5. Less well on 1mg per week so split to two doses of 0.5 which did seem to work better. But I’ve messed around with fluctuations in doses for a few months now and I’m not losing. Frustrating that it seems to have been all my own fault! And I think it’s also a lesson that using a supplier with some support available is well worth it. Three weeks ago I decided to up my dose to 1.5.mg over two doses of 0.75 each week. But earlier this week after reading another comment by someone who said it wasn’t a good idea to split the doses I decided to stop doing that so I missed out the 0.75 dose I was due to take on Thursday and I’m going back to once a week. I’m going to take 1mg today and for the next four weeks and hopefully get back into a steady state of the drug being in my system properly.

pisspants · 10/04/2023 10:57

I'm 9.5lb down in 3 and a half weeks on 0.25 and am really happy with that. I've ordered some more needles for the rest of what's left in my pen. As the 0.25 seems to be working, am I best to carry on with the 0.25 until the pen is finished or is it recommended to go up to the 0 5 regardless?

LadyFarnborough · 10/04/2023 11:15

That's really interesting about the doseage, thanks for that @mumwheresmyribena
I'd also been considering going up to 0.5mg a week early as effects seem a bit hit and miss at the moment but it's a good reminder that I am not the expert and that proper research by professionals is probably more reliable than my anecdotal evidence based on a sample size of one!

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 10/04/2023 11:15

1 month in I've lost a stone. Decided against taking the full 1mg (I started on 0.5mg) and upped to 0.75 instead by click counting. Got really pissed off last week with losing considerably less than the previous 2 weeks so went on a bit of self sabotage and ate anything and everything but back on board now.

@pisspants The patient info says .25 for 4 weeks, then .5 for 4 weeks, then to 1 if needed, the website says the same. I was in a similar position to you and decided trust the process and to go to .5, I'm glad I did. However I'll be sticking with .5 for a while. I'm not losing fast, but the trend is steadily downward and it feels very sustainable.
