Thread 1: www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight_loss_chat/4715040-lazy-pig-seeks-other-lazy-pigs-to-lose-1lb-a-week?page=1

We started on 9th January (ish) after we’d very heroically finished off the Christmas chocolate. We discussed our half-arsed plans to shift a bit of timber as we wafted our pudgy trotters vaguely towards the fruit bowl. No one really wanted to exercise properly because it’s too cold/wet/exercisey. We all love biscuits more than being thin yet we vowed to cut down on digestives. We promised, with our fingers crossed just in case. We owned our weaknesses, piggies, we owned them loud and proud and we were as determined as porky trough munchers can be, to aim for around 1lb a week weight loss.

And lo! Lazy Pig Club was born, hooray, and now we need a new thread. Let me know you’re here and how you’re doing, and new pigs are definitely more than welcome!!

Always remember our only rule and the LPC motto: “slowly, slowly - don’t make yourself sad”

Lol Hammy!

I’m feeling fat as fuck, scuse my French.

Number one: I couldn’t do a number two this morning as was up and out in a rush and it didn’t and hasn’t happened.
Number two: went to pub where I had preordered a salad starter and light main course, but they’d not noted the preorder so I changed my mind and had steak suet pudding and mash. And I hadn’t ordered a dessert but then I did.
Number three: Three slices of cake later on.

So, stuffed like a sausage full of carbs and poo, basically. Oh dear.

Well done everyone for your losses!

I've not weighed myself because we've had 3 birthdays in March. I shall be starting again tomorrow where I can have a least 3 weeks of being good before Easter.

Keep it up piggies!

BazingaBaby · 12/03/2023 17:39

Well done all! I haven't weighed in a while as the snacking took over and I couldn't face it but I've got a week off work with the other half and other than tomorrow (errands day) we'll be exercising daily so back to it!

HamFrancisco · 13/03/2023 09:28

A teeny bit more weight off, I'm now close to half a stone down. I think I'm achieving this by eating one less cornflake a day. I am the poster pig for the slowly slowly motto.

TheZeppo · 13/03/2023 19:42

I still haven’t lost that bloody pound 😭
I am stuck at 13 pound loss (yay) but been there for almost a month now! FRUSTRATING!

That happened with me, so frustrating! Lost an easy half a stone in January then stalled for most of February. Back on track a bit now (though three meals out this week might scupper it). Keep at it and hopefully the next lb or two will fall off soon!!

checking in

BeADinosaur · 14/03/2023 18:48

May I join you all?

I started on the 28th December at 5"10 and 17st 11. As of yesterday am still 5"10 but now 15st 4. Aiming for 12st on the end. So a ways to go!

I don't exercise except for walking and that varies wildly day by day (less than 2k some days, over 20k some days!).

So far I've kind of just been replacing things. So BBQ pulled pork is now BBQ pulled chicken. Bagels are now bagel thins. Fried crisps are now baked crisps.

Never was one for sweet things, but cheese and crackers are my kryptonite.

Also, feel happier with slower weight loss as still go out for dinner and wine once a week (long standing date with bff) and take out every other week (long standing date with daughter). This makes it feel sustainable as not actually missing out on anything.

I feel like I should move more? Do some form of exercise? But have no appropriate clothes! Me in lycra is not something any person blessed with vision should experience.

walkies123 · 14/03/2023 19:00

I started the skinny jabs nearly two weeks ago and weighed myself today........I've fucking put fucking weight on! What the actual fuck ????
May as well order a Chinese and open a fucking bottle of wine now ffs.

Does this initiate me into the LPC club?

StephanieSuperpowers · 14/03/2023 19:07

Well it definitely initiates you into the "people who've just ruined my plan b" club. I thought the injections were infalliable!!?

Mañanarama · 14/03/2023 19:12

@BeADinosaur welcome! Sounds like you’re perfect for this group!

@walkies123 jabs?! Tell us more!

It takes time to work, you are not quite two weeks down the line. Also, it is an adjunct in weight management so (unless your doctor has said otherwise) how is your eating and exercise? @Mañanarama our OP (original pig? Our oink-in-chief anyway) may have tips because she's been nailing it!

whatausername · 14/03/2023 23:27

Went to threatre. Going to take two hours to get home. It's below zero. I did the only safe and sensible thing - bought my bodyweight in fried chicken and fries.

whatausername · 14/03/2023 23:28

At least I laughed off the ice cream I had during the show :-D

walkies123 · 15/03/2023 05:56

@whatausername
I've decreased my calorie intake and increased my physical activity but will keep going and hopefully something will kick in. I'm convincing myself it's because I got weighed on scales in pharmacy 2 weeks ago and then weighed on my own scales yesterday. I'll weigh again on my own scales next week and hopefully that shows a loss.
OP please give me some tips x

A new ‘lowest weight since joining the sty’ .
Hello Dinosaur , wow you have been doing really well! It suits me to support ‘slowly slowly’ weight loss with a bit of ‘quickly quickly ‘ but strictly Lycra free exercise.

A brisk walk to blow the cobwebs away. Sometimes I get up and do a silly dance to advert music. It gets our endorphins going and reminds our bodies that metabolism is a thing, these days. Apparently.

I did a gradual loss from 13 stone to 10 (I am not as tall as you) during lockdown, and as it happens I am now prepared to appear in well judged Lycra at the gym, but I did start off swathed in layers walking round the parks of London. Slowly slowly in all things!

EyesOnThePies · 15/03/2023 08:53

Walkies I think there are specific guidelines for eating on Saxenda?

Here we tend towards healthy eating, gradual sustainable loss in whatever way suits us best, not beating ourselves up for Mars Attacks days (and especially Lindor attacks), not giving up just because we slipped up, and not making our lives miserable. Which should suit everyone, hopefully.

Do you not have to restrict sugar intake on Saxenda? I think there is a Saxenda users thread somewhere.

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 15/03/2023 10:36

Morning all,

Checking in. I've quit being depressed about my yo-yo pounds and started weighing each morning. Really helping me to see overall I'm on a ( very slow) downward trajectory.... Woohoo.

I've been a positively saintly piggy this last week so hopefully by Friday I will get to the next stone bracket down 🤞 and not bugger it all up with fuck it Friday mentality.

" Closing" the kitchen at 8pm has also helped. Bit of a psychological game with myself but at this stage, whatever works.

BaconAndAvocado · 15/03/2023 11:12

Inchstonesbeatmilestones
I’m going to adopt your brilliant idea of “closing the kitchen” at a given time. Evenings, sofa, TV are my downfall.....well one of many downfalls but you get my drift!

Not having a great week re calorie intake.....mainly due to my new toy.

BaconAndAvocado · 15/03/2023 11:15

Behold!
Ive always lusted after one but couldn’t justify the extravagance. It was reduced by £30, I had some Christmas money and life is short.
It makes the most gorgeous hot chocolates and lattes.
The down side is that one sachet of their hot chocolate is 199 cals and then you add the milk 🤣

LPC - we’re gonna need a smaller sty*
TheZeppo · 15/03/2023 11:18

I did it! One whole stone down!!

@Mañanarama you totally cheered that last pound down 🤣❤️

but now I want that @BaconAndAvocado 🤣🤣

BaconAndAvocado · 15/03/2023 11:20

TheZeppo get one, you won’t regret it!
And well done on your fantastic loss 🙌🏻

EyesOnThePies · 15/03/2023 12:04

Massive congrats to all us little piggies going 'wee wee wee' towards our targets!

I like the 'closing the kitchen' concept.

But...er...what time does it open again?

Haha BaconAndAvocado - that device is going to be singing "Just one hot chocolate..." to you, in full operatic temptation. But then chocolate is full of antioxidants and raises our good cholesterol.

EyesOnThePies · 15/03/2023 12:09

Allegedly.

More credible views on chocolate are available.
