I thought I’d start a new thread to follow my journey, the other one doesn’t seem very active. During lockdown, I lost 2 stone but since life has regained pace again, it’s gone up by 3 and a half stone. I just have no control over my eating habits anymore.

I binge, I fast, I feel incredibly unhappy and I use food as my crutch. I do exercise four times a week but the weight just doesn’t shift because I’m eating too much

In the next 12 months, I am hoping to be able to have a child as a solo parent by choice and I know the only way to do that is to lose some weight and keep it off.

Today is the day. I injected this morning after much apprehension and it was fine ! I didn’t even feel it. So far so good, no side effects but im sure they’ll come after a few days.

I’ll keep this thread updated with the good, the bad and the ugly ! Feel free to join with your own experiences.

Happy birthday @MummyJ12! 🥳
Well, after moaning that I didn't lose as much weight as I'd liked to by day 6, I got struck with a horrendous sickness bug! I was at a school fundraiser and had to ask someone to take me home half way through, thankfully made it home before the inevitable happened! 🤢 I've been so sick since Friday night, just starting to feel better now. I've missed both weekend doses of Saxenda so now I'm not sure what to do tomorrow. I have eaten a bit today but not much, and I've not really felt hungry. But back to work tomorrow where I could easily slip! 🤷‍♀️
I hope you've all had a good weekend!

MummyJ12 · 26/02/2023 18:19

Thanks so much everyone! 💗
Oh @Bloodylovecrisps I’m glad you’re starting to feel better now. I would maybe take a 0.6 dose tomorrow to help and see how you go. It may be that you have another week on the starter dose but you can always get in touch with your medical provider and ask them.
@frostyfeb I’m like @Soloparenthelp and haven’t told anyone yet. There’s nothing to be ashamed about but I just don’t need to explain myself.

MummyJ12 · 26/02/2023 18:21

No one has noticed that I’m eating and drinking less yet! Never mind noticed that I’m losing weight…..

frostyfeb · 27/02/2023 14:15

Day 6 I am amazed that I am not needing any food until about 2pm, I am about nervous about how little I am eating.

Can anyone describe what they eat on a normal day

AngryAngel · 27/02/2023 16:14

I'm going to be starting on this over the next few days. I really appreciate your experiences on here. Nervous about the nausea, I HATED morning sickness. But hoping that keeping the dose low for a while might help. My big weakness is pizza and wine, so it's fair to say I have a bit of a change and challenge ahead of me! Have managed to lose weight on VLCDs in the past, but felt I needed something more radical this time around.

Ashwater · 27/02/2023 17:25

@frostyfeb i too was worried I wasn’t eating enough so I did a food shop yesterday at M&S (treat) and for some fancy salads and fruit. Going to prioritize those over the odd biscuit here and there.

I’ve been eating yoghurt with a sprinkle of nuts and seeds for brekkie, a couple of digestives at lunch and then a normal evening meal, but a much smaller portion.

I’m on day 12 and think I’m going to up my foes from 0.6 tomorrow as I’m definitely feeling hungrier than I was.

frostyfeb · 27/02/2023 17:50

Today so far I have eaten 1 pack of cooked chicken 120g 1 banana and a pear.

Will have dinner about 8 but been smaller than I used to eat and don't feel the need to snack

MummyJ12 · 27/02/2023 17:57

Today I’ve eaten a hard boiled egg with some ham and olives.
A small bag of popcorn
A pack of beetroot! (I know, on its own-sorry!)
A piece of cheese.
Just had dinner which was a slice of rye bread with avocado and chilli with two poached eggs.
One hotel Chocolat truffle.

I need to up my fruit I think!

what’s everyone else eating?
Thinking of you guys

Bloodylovecrisps · 27/02/2023 22:33

I'm also not sure if I am eating enough, although I am logging everything on myfitnesspal to make sure I keep above 1000 cals a day. It difficult though as i don't want to eat something unhealthy that i don't even want just to make sure I have enough calories a day and I also don't want to eat beyond feeling full for the same reason.
Today I had:

Breakfast - cup of coffee (3 in 1 sachet) and an apple
Lunch - overnight oats with 25g oats and a 200g tub of asda protein yogurt
Late afternoon snack - half a pack of vegan sushi (I eat some meat but no fish)
Dinner - 2 egg omelette with ham, mushroom, low fat cheese and onion, a tiny handful of chips (weighed) and a side salad
Total cals 1119 according to MFP
I average between 1100 and 1300 a day which i think is okay?

Bloodylovecrisps · 27/02/2023 22:35

Forgot to add, I did have another coffee and 1500ml of water too. I'm really really trying hard to increase my water intake, it's been shockingly low for years 😬

frostyfeb · 28/02/2023 08:48

My 1st week weigh in and I have lost 9lbs !!!

So excited I know it's probably water loss and such a big loss as I am 17 st so obviously have a lost to lose, but feels really positive.

I have dieted in the past and tried SlimmingWorld but my downfall was I always am hungry, I'm the type of person who wakes up hungry, and I could eat a fry up and is still hungry 30 mins later so saxenda is amazing as I actually don't think about food as much as not hungry.

Im going to try and stick to the 0.6 dose until my appetite increases as these pens are so expensive!

MummyJ12 · 28/02/2023 10:40

Wow! Really well done @frostyfeb 👏🏼💗x

Ashwater · 28/02/2023 11:54

Wow that’s great @frostyfeb well done! Week 2 weigh in for me today and 2lbs off so that’s 7lbs so far on sax and 17lbs overall 😊

Saxendatry · 28/02/2023 21:07

That's amazing @frostyfeb well done! You must feel amazing after that.

I had a bad day yesterday and did binge slightly but not half as bad as I could have. I missed my dose today and went a huge walk for over 2 hours and wasn't hungry before or even much after which is so weird. Usually I'd be starving. So even missing one still must have an effect for me. Actually now I read that back I was probably just still full from yesterday.

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day

That's great, you must be pleased with that 👏🏻👏🏻

frostyfeb · 01/03/2023 21:00

Why is losing weight so hard!

I only had two eggs and some ham, for lunch, no breakfast. I cooked a special birthday dinner for my sister today. I did manage to make it all with no oil (used fry light) pork roast dinner and I only had some pork and vege with 2 small potatoes. No Yorkshires or stuffing and only a drop of gravy.

But I did have a slice of cake that I made it was delicious but I desperately want more of it. And my guilty secret is I did have a nibble of pork crackling.

Pre sax I would of eaten most of the crackling and had another slice of cake. So whilst I am being better, I still want to eat it and can't stop thinking about the cake and the crackling Confused

Soloparenthelp · 02/03/2023 07:07

I’m definitely feeling ready to step up to the next dosage when the time comes. I’m now up to 1.8. I’m showing a loss again but I am out this evening so it may not be as much as i am hoping for by the time weigh in comes round.

I am noticing that I don’t really fancy any food other than beige. Anyone else in that boat ? I had the same when I was pregnant. Very similar appetite.

First jag just done! (scottish 😂)

Am I thin yet? 🤔

GivingItAWhirl · 02/03/2023 12:25

Has anyone tried the tablets rather than the injections? (Name change as I don’t want to link my weight loss attempts to other posts!)

GivingItAWhirl · 02/03/2023 12:25

Not that I’m bothered by injections, just don’t really want needles around the house and storing them in the fridge etc

frostyfeb · 02/03/2023 13:39

I keep asking my DH that!

Ashwater · 02/03/2023 15:32

I don’t know if there is a tablet form of sax to be honest. I wasn’t sure about the needles at first but they are tiny and I just keep them out of reach.

@MorrisZapp positively skinny I’d say.

GivingItAWhirl · 02/03/2023 16:37

@Ashwater there are liraglutide tablets available under the brand name Rybelsus. And honestly, I can not have needles around the house and in the fridge - it’s a no go! Tiny or not!

walkies123 · 03/03/2023 18:34

Just started this last night. Hubby did the first dose as I didn't think I'd be able to do it (hate needles). But tbh I hardly even felt it so that gave me the courage to do tonight's dose myself... it was actually was so easy Smile

Slight bit of a nauseous feeling this morning but it passed really quickly thankfully.

Feeling inspired by your posts x
We are doing it ... we are actually taking back control of our lives Smile
