My sister in law thinks that getting drunk results in being thinner in the morning. I have not scientifically tested this.

For me, it's put curly wurlies in the fridge then have one slowly with a cup of tea for a 'treat'.

Christ, I wish...

Eat 800g of vegetables a day, you won't have room for anything else.

Thepossibility · 04/02/2023 11:40

No breakfast.
Lunch super early and healthy.
Dinner 5 pm with the kids. That's the last food of the day.
I watch my shows at night while walking on the treadmill instead of sitting down and snacking.
Keeping food between 10 and 5 on weekdays means I can have chocolate everyday and a serious binge on weekends and still lose weight.

Invest in a ddog! Lots of walking of mileage there...

Eat the right food for your blood group. The weight falls off and stays off. It's been 3 years since I adopted this approach. I dropped to my ideal weight and have remained at that weight. Ideally if I added exercise I could lose more but I am content right now.

How do you find out what that is? The right foods, I mean

MoChridhe · 04/02/2023 11:48

Just Google blood group diet for your blood type and the list of beneficial foods is there. I am blood group O. Legumes are not good for my blood type. I used to eat loads of beans and peas prior to this diet which explains why I never lost weight.

Ah, of course...

1, only eat at meal times and nothing before 7am or after 7pm, 12 hour fast as a minimum
2, half your plate should be vegetables or sometimes fruit
3, don't eat any sugar ( or only a tiny tiny amount) apart from what is naturally in the raw fruit, veg or milk this boils down to no sweets, cakes, puddings, biscuits or sugary cereals

ivykaty44 · 04/02/2023 11:53

Eat real food 2 or 3 times a day without snacking, & remove quarter of your portion from the plate before you start eating

ArseMenagerie · 04/02/2023 11:57

What’s macros?

My tip is beans on toast for lunch with a poached egg

you’re not hungry again - small dinner, bed.

Just looked at the Harvard article on blood group diets and it said nothing has been proven and the is no real research to back this up.

I've heard that dysentery has a bit of a name for quick weight loss, just don't stray to far from the bathroom...

junebirthdaygirl · 04/02/2023 12:12

If you retain water put dandelion drops in your glass of water and feel less bloated. Be running to the loo so only if at home. But in health food shop.

Unescorted · 04/02/2023 12:24

@DeedlessIndeed I am like that too.

Also don't overthink it. I get hungry as I start thinking about food. Find something else to think about - I use crosswords, reading, going to the gym, walking, working. Choose something that requires brain power.

GrannieD · 04/02/2023 12:25

Brushing your teeth instead of reaching for a snack. The mintier the better !

Draconis · 04/02/2023 12:25

After dinner, brush your teeth and get into your pjs. Helps to stop snacking and when you're tired, you're ready to get into bed instead of thinking of snacking or staying up later and then getting more tired the next day.

Don't eat before midday!

I have tried so many different "healthy" breakfasts and whilst they may be low cal, delicious, or nutritionally packed, they always make me eat more throughout the day.

I'm convinced breakfast "awakens" your taste buds and makes you think more about food throughout the day. Especially if you naturally over eat because you enjoy the process of eating and enjoy tasting new flavours etc.

This! Definitely true for me.

Calorie deficit and high protein.

I second this

PandasAreUseless · 04/02/2023 12:29

I'm not overweight, but if I want to 'trim up' a little, I just skip breakfast for 4 or 5 days.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 04/02/2023 12:29

Just treat every day as Day 1.

Cook from scratch

See if I did this I would have eaten 37 packets of crisps and a crème egg before the oven had heated up.

Mine is have a lot of food than can be ready very quickly

Cook ready meals that can microwave
Frozen mash and rice packets ditto
Veg that can be steamed

Air fryer very useful

And never be without eggs

I agree. Eat between 12-8 only as well.

TheChosenTwo · 04/02/2023 12:38

It’s not really random but I go for a walk every evening. Dh cooks while go for a walk. He likes cooking and I like exercise and fresh air, I listen to a podcast and I really look forward to it. Keeps me active especially on days I’ve been wfh and not even managed to get in a lunchtime walk.
