My sister in law thinks that getting drunk results in being thinner in the morning. I have not scientifically tested this.

For me, it's put curly wurlies in the fridge then have one slowly with a cup of tea for a 'treat'.

Lemon water is supposedly bad for teeth, I’m sure there are worse things though. Everything in moderation (apart from anything processed - avoid). Honey is fine occasionally. I usually only have it when I feel I’m coming down with something and till I’ve recovered.
If you drink lemon in hot water it’s worse, mine is usually room temperature by the time I drink it, also drink it quickly rather than sipping it (or through a stainless steel straw so it hits the back of your throat rather than your teeth) and drink it at least one hour before or after brushing your teeth. The longer gap between lemon and brushing the better. You can also rinse your mouth with water afterwards. I’ve been doing this for 10+ years.
I went to the dentist for the first time in 3 years before Christmas and I had no enamel issues, actually no problems at all. I guess if someone is already worried about their tooth enamel this might not work for them.

Have sugar free jelly to fill you up.

Become coeliac.

I'm half joking, but it's amazing how much weight you lose when 95% of the supermarket is off limits and what isn't tastes of sadness whilst simultaneously emptying your bank account, so you stick to meat, fish, vegetables, rice and fruit for a treat.

Hydrate

Get smaller crockery.

Listen to your hunger and only eat if you are hungry, not just because 'its a mealtime'.

8 hour eating window.

No bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, refined sugars etc.

If you're prone to snacking, switch your snacks to healthier ones (eg if you like chocolate then switch to dark chocolate). & don't snack and then sit down to a plate of food for dinner. Its either or. Intermittent fasting, at least 12 hours and remember sleeping at night counts as part of your fast which makes it easier to organise.

Yeh, dark chocolate is less addictive. You can put back most of the bar. I have been having two squares every second day (calorie counted). I could never do that with milk chocolate. It's got phyto .... phyotosomething very good for you. Or is it magnesium.

Hedonism · 21/02/2023 20:24

Write down everything you eat. You don't have to calorie count it, I just use the notes app on my phone. It makes me think twice about grabbing a quick biscuit on the way past, and I was shocked about how much I was eating without thinking about it.

on the first weigh in, put coins in youir pockets, lots of coins, the next weigh in remove them, you will lose for sure :) only joking but a friend of mine did similar to this at slimming club to get slimmer of the week (she did diet as well though)

I read a few studies on ghrelin, the hunger hormone, and the research showed better results for time restricted eating if you aligned with the circadian rhythm. This seems to have a bigger reduction to ghrelin.

Which makes sense to me.

I eat from about 9 to 5 or 6. If the ghrelin is a-growling before bed I have a yakult to settle it and aid digestion.

I swim about 2 to 3.
