Is anyone else doing this? I started on Saturday (a little later than my planned 1st Jan start as I was skiing). So today I completed my first day of the 14 day phase 2.

I took the salts on Saturday but they didn't kick in until the evening so kids bedtime was fun.

I ate vegetables all weekend, drank black tea and coffee.

Today I have had:
B - Blueberries and Greek yogurt
L - Spicy mince with mushrooms, peppers and salad with ACV
D - 2 egg omelette with mushrooms and peppers and some cucumber and dessert was steamed apple sprinkled with cinnamon.

I have been sipping on fruit tea through the day (which I think is allowed).

I weighed in this morning and have lost 4 1/2 pounds so far - 148.8lbs starting weight and now am 144.5. So we will see how the weigh ins go...

Honestly I don't feel hungry, if I was to snack now it would be because of boredom rather than hunger which is why I'm planning to take myself to bed soon.

I'm really hoping to keep this up and complete all the phases but I would love to have a buddy? Is anyone else on the HBD wagon?

Hi all, I'm on day 1 of phase 2. Been half-arsing phase 3 for a while and then pretty much eating myself sick and constantly hungover since Christmas. We have a busy summer planned and I want to shift the extra weight before then. Got 12 kg to go. So far haven't really been hungry, although it probably helps that I have a stinking cold and so am not really feeling excited by food for once!

Ginthing · 13/03/2024 17:59

Hi @lemontovaI’ve have seen you on this chat before. Are you doing a complete reset? Is this your second go around? Would love to know how it went for you previously, up until the wheels came off, of course. Well done and good luck!

lemontova · 14/03/2024 12:23

Think it's probably my third complete reset - I am not very consistent! Did HBD for the first time from end of April 2022, but didn't stick to phase 2 very well and then derailed after my first treat meal. I did it again last summer and managed to get through phase 2, then went away for work and gave up a bit. I lost about 6kg the first time though and have mostly kept it off, by sticking to the general rules most of the time - eg, almost always have had an HBD breakfast and protein/veg more often than not for meals, whereas previously I would be having buttered toast, lots of pasta and bread, crisps and wine, but considering myself to have a healthy diet because I'd make the bread or pasta from scratch and we never eat ready meals. Except for all the supermarket pizzas. and the Giovanni Rana pasta. and the frozen strudels and takeaways.

I do think it's a good plan though and when I'm sticking to it I sleep better, feel better, skin is better etc. I used to have really bad rosacea and that's almost gone now, which I'd credit HBD with as well as regular Skin+Me use. You do get used to black coffee too - I very rarely drink it with milk now, just a seasonal latte once or twice a year, which always reminds me of a sugary hot milkshake. I think my tastebuds have changed, and my go-to meals are healthier. eg, taking lunch to work, I would throw some veg and cheese in a tupperware and microwave that, rather than getting a meal deal and crisps, which saves money too. It's made me more aware of how certain foods make me feel, and I don't get the mid-afternoon slump after a HBD friendly lunch the way I used to with sandwiches and crisps. I always drink much more water.

Although I am not the best example of this - when you get to phase 3, it's actually very do-able, because your weekly treat meal means you can still have a night out, you can have some dark chocolate after dinner, or a glass of wine, so there's not the same rigidity and abstinence that some other plans have. I can see that phase 4 is even more manageable and this time am really keen and determined to get there, and lose my excess 12-15kg in phase 3, because I have come to enjoy eating like this, and it's a great insta community too of really lovely people.

Thanks @lemontova for your honest response. I’m about 30 days into P3 and social engagements are playing havoc with my progress. Although I am finding that I return to plan quickly and easily after a heavy weekend, and I am maintaining at my start of P3 weight. It’s nice to hear from someone who has been living life and maybe fallen off the wagon a time or two, but is still committed enough to give it a go. That’s very encouraging long term. Think I am most definitely going to be a snail in this process.

Z0rr0 · 21/03/2024 16:00

Hey everyone. Hope you're doing ok. My weight loss is still a bit stalled despite being more strict this week and also getting back to walking every day. But the weight isn't going up at least, so will keep going. Constipation still a bit of an issue.
Mostly came by to say I made that gram flour thing today as a wrap which I ate with hummus, avocado, tomato and Chinese leaf and it was really yum. Haven't had a wrap or a sandwich since I started this diet, so that felt like a real treat as well. I made it with 40g of gram flour and put 40g of hummus to make the 80g of protein. Big thumbs up from me. :)

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 21/03/2024 16:23

Oh that sounds good @Z0rr0 - I need to get more adventurous. I’m at 3.5 weeks in - just over a week in P3. I’m at 13.6 lbs down so pleased about that.

Do you make the hummus yourself or is there a good one to buy?

I’ve been hungry the last few days (weirdly after my evening meal (am fine before!) but as the weight is coming off I’m going with it!

CEJ1836 · 21/03/2024 19:03

Well I’m so cross. I had a work do in London yesterday. I allowed myself the day off. But today I’m hungover and so stuffed my face. Feel rubbish but I’ll be back on it again tomorrow. It’s my late brothers birthday today so can’t be too hard on myself.

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 21/03/2024 19:55

That sounds like a very good reason not to be hard on yourself @CEJ1836 Flowers

Z0rr0 · 21/03/2024 20:26

@ItsNotEasyBeingGreens I have made hummus in the past but it's a bit of a faff so we just buy it. We quite like the Ocado one which is by Yarden or Sabra I think. It's a smooth one.

Jocastafantastica1 · 25/03/2024 09:53

Day 1 phase 1 and the Epsom salts have been consumed…I had a half hearted attempt at HBD last year and had forgotten how truly vile that tastes. But they already seem to be working let’s just say I’m glad I’m working from home today.

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 26/03/2024 03:48

Brilliant @Jocastafantastica1 - I have to admit that I wimped out of doing the Epsom salts. I’m more prone to upset stomachs than the opposite, so I thought it might be a step too far for me. Although I know there are supposed to be other benefits, maybe if I do a reset one day I will brave them! How are your first couple of days going? They are the hardest and it just gets better from there on.

Jocastafantastica1 · 26/03/2024 09:48

So I’ve just had my veggie breakfast with a bit of ACV on P1 D2. Yesterday was ok, I had a winter veg soup and aubergine curry from the recipe book, and I’ll be eating exactly the same today…can’t say I’d rush to make it again but it wasn’t unpleasant. I’m making an effort to drink lots of water and enjoying my unlimited black Coffee before tomorrow (I don’t have milk anyway). So looking forward to eggs tomorrow morning!

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 26/03/2024 14:29

The protein on day three is quite exciting! I made the mistake of making the soup with spinach in it for the first two days. It was awful, but at least I didn’t have to think too much about what to have!

Z0rr0 · 27/03/2024 07:57

lol @ItsNotEasyBeingGreens Same with the soup. I just remembered I still have a couple of boxes of that in the freezer. The chances of me ever willingly eating that again are non existent! I should just bin it. I also skipped the salts.

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 27/03/2024 14:02

Oh god, the memories @Z0rr0 - I think I’m still traumatised!

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 04/04/2024 00:47

How's everyone doing? I'm still hanging in there. Weightloss has slowed a bit but still going. I'm at about 15.2lbs lost and five weeks in.

Bloody amazing. I’m at around a stone but stalled a bit plus the weekend so not weighed since last Wednesday.

lemontova · 04/04/2024 16:41

That's brilliant. I started again as got derailed by illness, work and Easter, and hadn't got even halfway through phase 2. Husband joining me this time and making soups, buying vegetables etc which is helping as he used to be a chef so the soup actually tastes nice. In return for the support I don't openly disapprove when he eats hot cross buns for lunch instead of the chicken salad I suggested and left in the fridge.

I am P3 D35 and so far have lost a stone. I wasn’t too bad over Easter but I had 1 big night out with my friends and went slightly off track the next day. I have got into the swing of things but live for the weekly treat meal 😂

Z0rr0 · 06/04/2024 12:19

Hey everyone. Congrats on your ongoing successes. I've struggled a bit with my weight basically being plateaued since I started P3 and because it's disheartening some snacking had crept back in. But I have been walking a lot more. Managing a long walk most days. Haven't been weighing myself because I didn't want the disappointment of seeing weight go back on. But getting dressed today I thought my bra seemed looser and so I stepped on the scales and by some miracle I have lost weight! Have tipped below the next stone milestone on the scales so I think that puts me at about a stone and a half lost since the end of January when I started this, although I've lost track a bit. So am relieved and super happy. Maybe my body actually needed a bit of a break to get back on track. Will feel more motivated to get back on the wagon next week. Keep the faith guys.

Fluffywithteeth · 26/04/2024 15:43

I’m going to start HBD for the first time in May - great to hear your experiences. Really well done for all the progress everyone’s made!

Pippid · 26/04/2024 17:00

Hi, I'm a couple of weeks in on hbd so late phase 2...loving it! Does anyone know if you can have a small amount of coconut cream?

Fluffywithteeth · 26/04/2024 21:54

@Pippid pretty sure not. The hbd diet cookbook has a really clear list of what is/isn’t allowed. I think cc not allowed til p4 except treat meal?

Fluffywithteeth · 27/04/2024 11:31

@Pippid great to hear you’re loving it! I’m going to start ina couple of weeks - would love to hear why it’s working for you and any tips 🙏🏼

LBMCR · 27/04/2024 15:36

I’m P3D58, I found P1 & 2 pretty hard going but it’s been easier in P3. Against all the odds I’ve got used to black coffee 😂. I’ve lost around a stone (maybe a bit more haven’t weighed myself for over a week). I live for the weekly treat meal & few wines. Things like sauerkraut, kimchi & pickled things have really helped make salads exciting. There are some good HBD accounts on insta that I pinch food ideas from - HBD Amanda, HBD 4 life being 2. I haven’t been able to lose any weight since turning 42 so I’ve stuck to this as it’s working for me. I can’t say I’ve noticed things such as more energy, less hormonal symptoms etc but that wasn’t my main concern
