Is anyone else doing this? I started on Saturday (a little later than my planned 1st Jan start as I was skiing). So today I completed my first day of the 14 day phase 2.

I took the salts on Saturday but they didn't kick in until the evening so kids bedtime was fun.

I ate vegetables all weekend, drank black tea and coffee.

Today I have had:
B - Blueberries and Greek yogurt
L - Spicy mince with mushrooms, peppers and salad with ACV
D - 2 egg omelette with mushrooms and peppers and some cucumber and dessert was steamed apple sprinkled with cinnamon.

I have been sipping on fruit tea through the day (which I think is allowed).

I weighed in this morning and have lost 4 1/2 pounds so far - 148.8lbs starting weight and now am 144.5. So we will see how the weigh ins go...

Honestly I don't feel hungry, if I was to snack now it would be because of boredom rather than hunger which is why I'm planning to take myself to bed soon.

I'm really hoping to keep this up and complete all the phases but I would love to have a buddy? Is anyone else on the HBD wagon?

Can I have Greek yogurt in phase 2?

I’m confused with the hbd book, some parts say to have yogurt as a protein option but some chapters say dairy isn’t allowed!

potkettle1 · 28/04/2024 07:40

@Butterflyface2023 I think she says try not to in case it's a trigger. I've avoided. I'm on p2d12 - so nearly there! Will be having greek yogurt for breakfast on weds. Been hungry the last couple of days and am worried as to whether these small portions are sustainable for me in the long term. How's everyone else found that?

Lazydaiz · 28/04/2024 09:40

I’m about to start P3 week 8. I have to say that I have found the small portion sizes not sustainable (but I do have an huge appetite). However I have found that sticking broadly to the principles of what to eat but in larger quantities, and not snacking between meals, drinking plenty of water etc. have helped me to lose a stone in weight, which I am keeping off, and very very slowly losing a bit more. I am very happy with this outcome, as I thought I would be lucky to lose a couple of pounds and certainly didn’t think I would stick with it. Black coffee is now my favourite drink even though I previously thought it the work of the devil. Good luck to everyone just starting out ….. it really is worth it once you get past the carb/sugar cravings.

I felt really hungry in P2 but in P3 less so. Usually I feel satisfied after a meal, some days I find I am counting the time down to lunch or dinner but on the whole I feel I have either got used to smaller portions or what I’m combining is keeping me fuller. I agree with Lazydais that I do sometimes have a bit more protein or veg if I’m feeling hungry. I find that having some sweet potato as a veg helps, the chickpea or lentil pasta/rices are good (have to have as veggie option in P3 as the rice/pasta counts as protein) or having a 2 slices of Rye bread a few times a week helps with hunger

Thanks both, that's helpful. Excited about my first treat meal which I could have on weds but will wait til sat as we're out with friends. Although my friend, who's a week or two ahead of me, says she put 3llbs on after her first treat meal 🥴

@Pippid great to hear you’re loving it! I’m going to start ina couple of weeks - would love to hear why it’s working for you and any tips 🙏🏼

Morning! So as a serial dieter, I can honestly say this is the most enjoyable diet. I'm really doing it for the "other benefits " of the diet as I've recently joined the fun club of peri menopause, and to support my bf who is doing it for weight loss. When I started it I was in the lower end of overweight..im now in higher end of healthy weight. I've lost just shy of a stone. But more importantly, I feel so much better! No longer lethargic, sleep much better, feel positive, joints less painful. And feeling that my body is finally happy with me! I start p3 next week and I am looking forward to a glass of wine..but I honestly haven't really craved it!
I really, really recommend it. Compared to all the other diets, the first 14 days have been a breeze. The hbd cookbook and fresh herbs are your friends!!!
Best of luck..you've got this!

I keep track of my weight daily, which you’re not supposed to do, but I find it helps me to see the natural fluctuations over time along with the general trend. I do put on weight the day after my treat meal but think it’s mostly fluid retention due to additional salt etc and then it’s pretty much gone within two days and then I usually lose more over the following five days.

potkettle1 · 01/05/2024 07:22

Happy to have reached P3 today. But disappointed with my overall weight loss. 6llbs over the 16 days and have lost nothing since the last weigh in 9 days ago. Have been sticking strictly to the plan (although not getting enough sleep - waking early). 6llbs overall in P1/2 is much less than I expected and have heard from others. I have an underactive thyroid although am on medication for this.

Any tips from the seasoned HBDers?

monpetitchou · 01/05/2024 11:13

Hello all. I'm in the pre-prep stage, due to various plans I can't start until towards the end of this month. I wanted to ask about other supplements. I currently take inositol daily to help with PCOS, but I'm wondering if this should stop when I start HBD? It is a sugar, and affect insulin, so hopefully after getting through P3 I won't need it anyway but I'm just not sure what would be best.

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 15/05/2024 15:09

Did you get started @monpetitchou - I’m sorry, I don’t know the answer to the question that you asked, but hopefully you’ve got some information now. Hope it’s going well.

Have you had much success with weight loss? Do you feel the benefits?

I’m doing my weigh in on Friday morning so will let you know! Have you had the p3 stall everyone talks about?

ItsNotEasyBeingGreens · 15/05/2024 23:04

I know you weren’t asking me but I haven’t had the P3 weight loss stall - I’m week 11 now - but it’s settled to slow and steady, about 1.5lbs a week. I’m at about 23lbs now with about 15 to go.

Thanks @ItsNotEasyBeingGreens - that is so encouraging. P1 and until yesterday I didn’t feel
much was happening but the last coupel
of days I’ve definitely felt lighter, stomach a lot flatter. I’m enjoying planning my first treat meal for the weekend after next!

Fluffywithteeth · 17/05/2024 07:35

So I’ve done my weight in and I’m done 2.7 kg to 68kg with another 6 days of p2
to go. Really pleased with that and also for the loss achieved it doesn’t feel like I’ve suffered too much! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend 😎

lemontova · 17/05/2024 10:22

Well done, that's ace!

I'm slow and steady on phase 3, keep falling off the wagon and derailing completely (sunshine - rose wine!) but cumulatively I'm still starting each month 1kg lighter than the previous so know I'll get there eventually.

Oh yes, similar! I should have said I did have a week away where I put on but lost within a week so technically I had a plateau (or a peak and a descent!) but purely because I went massively off piste!

Fluffywithteeth · 18/05/2024 07:41

That’s great @lemontova and @ItsNotEasyBeingGreens - if you can fall off the wagon, return to it and still lose it sounds like it’s really working for you

Fluffywithteeth · 07/06/2024 07:03

Oh am feeling very dispirited ! Week 2 of phase 3 and no movement at all in the scales….. did this happen to any of you?

I experienced this in the first few weeks of P3 but my weight loss started again and continued

Fluffywithteeth · 07/06/2024 20:40

Thank you so much @LBMCR - that is reassuring! Did you have to change anything of just wait it out?

I think I waited a few weeks and then weighed again and it had gone down and I was really pleased. I didn’t change anything diet wise. P3 I had either eggs with veggies (mushrooms, avocado, spinach, tomato) or cherries & yoghurt, lunch a chicken, cheese or fish (smoked salmon, mackerel, tuna) salad and dinner similar or a soup or chilli but with cauli rice/courgette noodles. I did bring in lentil & chickpea pasta as an option, sweet potato chips make something feel more like dinner and a few times a week some rye bread with brekkie or lunch.

Fluffywithteeth · 07/06/2024 21:48

Thanks so much @LBMCR - yes that pretty much describes my food plan. And sorry last question , how much on average do you think you lost per week/month on p3? And are you on p4 now? X
