Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

I'd love to join you all on you quest! I have about 1.5 stone to lose and April seems to be a good target. One of the main reasons is because a lot of my clothes no longer fit me and I do not want to give in and buy bigger sizes. Fortunately my work have now started to allow casual clothes in the office, which is a relief as my go to black trousers were under so much stress I was worried about climbing stairs or making sudden movements!

I don't really enjoy exercise either. I do jog now and again but don't really go regularly enough to make a difference.

I love food, and find it hard to be good for too long! I've cut down on the wine and lager and have moved to gin & tonic, ( lower calories?) and will try and avoid drinking during the week but cant guarantee this! I think a 1lb a week is manageable (hopefully). 😊

Wallowingwendy · 08/01/2023 21:09

I need to be here. Lost 3 stone after dc2 but have put a stone on after stopping bf. Work clothes getting tight and I've deliberately bought clothes in the sales at that size to stop me going up. But they're tight. I need to lose about 8lbs.

I'm lazy, work at a desk for 60 hours a week, DC keep me up all night (waking every hour and a half) so I have no energy and typically just binge chocolate as I work in the evenings to make my life seem less shit.

But it has to end! I need to feel comfortable again at work and may even attempt 20 mins of Zumba on the switch at some point.

Plan is to have soups for lunch, small dinners and replace my choc binge with a measly 2 finger KitKat or a hot choc.

Confitofduckand · 08/01/2023 21:21

Oh! Yes, please! Anything to get the weight off. Thanks, OP.

MichaelAndEagle · 08/01/2023 21:36

I drink hot drinks or sparkling water in the evenings to stop the snacking. Snacking is my downfall rather than alcohol.

I don't drink so yes the snacking is my glass of wine. I've got toffee popcorn in the cupboard so going to try and just get out of the habit.

horriblechristmas2022 · 08/01/2023 22:26

I shall start tomorrow ! I shall be out of covid isolation and finished my mint chocolate dinner but tomorrow I shall be better !

LazySazzle · 08/01/2023 22:48

I'd like to join please. I'm a fellow lazy, perimenopausal, and unmotivated piggy. I love food too much to restrict in any significant way. I have a demanding and very desk based job. Need to lose at least 3 stone. Sigh.

Will do an official starting weigh-in in the morning. I am aiming to channel @EyesOnThePies as you sound really sensible and realistic.

Eudaimonia5 · 08/01/2023 23:06

Love the thread title! Yes, fellow lazy pig here with around a stone to lose.

I'm finding it really hard to lose weight. I'm convinced my crisps/chocolate/pizza habit isn't to blame and it's the Diet Coke I drink. Google said it holds onto fat and causes weight gain. Yes, definitely the Diet Coke and not all the pizza and chips I scoff.

HamFrancisco · 09/01/2023 06:53

I've now had a think (already in a calorie deficit, go me!) and my first little changes will be to limit Diet Coke to one a day and to limit sugary shite to one chocolate bar a day, rather than a whole packet of biscuits. Surely I can do that?

PositivePants2023 · 09/01/2023 07:02

Hi, can I join? Briefly looked at slimming world but got cross at it.

I have some nice calorie cookbooks so am looking at those. First up, booze needs to dial right back.

MKDmumofflash · 09/01/2023 07:17

I need to be here, I probably need to lose 3.5 stone 😭and am a total pig.

I have all the excuses in the world - lack of childcare, lack of time and just couple this with pigging out.

I am the master of all excuses - I need a big enough breakfast to stop tummy rumbles today (in court) so have packed a flatbread with ham, eggs and cheese. FFS 🙄

But I struggle to cut my toenails due to leg/belly heft so something has to give!

HamFrancisco · 09/01/2023 07:36

Oh yes, leg/belly heft is a problem here too. Would like to be able to put socks on and breathe at the same time.

Colinthedaxi · 09/01/2023 08:22

Can I join? Weighed myself NYD and am 11 stone, I’m 5ft 4 and my previous top weight was 10.2 so that was a bit of a shocker. Need to loose a stone for my hobby. Like a previous poster also because I have nice clothes I now look like a badly stuffed sausage in. So 1 stone to start then ideally another half. Started being a bit more aware of snacking habit on the 2nd (steak pie and wine on the first!) though there is still Christmas cheese to finish. Plan to weigh myself on the 1st of February, if I do it too soon and there is no change I’ll just sulk 🤣

So, hitting the ground running, well, shuffling in a Monday morning kind of way. I’ve Judith weighed myself and, as I feared, I’m the heaviest I’ve been since I was pregnant.

My number? 10 stone 11.4 pounds.

OP posts:
Mañanarama · 09/01/2023 08:36

Dunno who the hell Judith is but I bet she’s thinner than me

Morning fellow piggies!! Off to a good start here, I've managed to put breakfast off for an hour to try & help with the mid morning hunger pangs, just off to toast a bagel, I can have jam though, it's fruit so one of my 5 a day surely? 😂

Yes yes. Jam is fruit. Just put a teeny bit less on that you did last week.

Undisclosedlocation · 09/01/2023 08:49

Weigh in done. As per usual I started last week full of new years enthusiasm and went full pelt for 2 days on a diet. Result after one week….I’ve put on a pound. 🤦‍♀️
Traditional diets are shit and make me binge crap. So my first tactic is going to be to add stuff rather than limit it and see if it helps.
so I will add 1 1/2 litres of water and 2 fruit or veg extra per day for a week and see how that feels.
Theoretically that will leave less room for crisps and chocolate right?

RubyRue79 · 09/01/2023 08:56

Weigh in done and that was a shocker, I’m the heaviest I’ve been. Start as I mean to go on and I’ve prepped fruit salads for breakfast for the next few days.

NatWestPigFamily · 09/01/2023 08:56

Good morning all! Weighed this morning, 11 stone 7.5. I have just walked the kids to school for the first time in months which was a 30min round trip.

Ebananascroogey · 09/01/2023 09:06

Mañanarama · 09/01/2023 08:40

Yes yes. Jam is fruit. Just put a teeny bit less on that you did last week.

I had a thinner layer of butter than normal & a smaller spoon of jam, feeling very motivated now!
Tonight I'm going to make a pan of lentil soup for lunches, hoping that will help me avoid high fat cheese toasties!!

muddlingthrou · 09/01/2023 09:18

My only issue with lentils is they make me fart like a trooper... is that my body just revolting against anything healthy or does that effect wear off if I persist?

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 09/01/2023 09:32

Morning all,

Lots of good intentions for the week ( planned meals and everything, gold star here please 😉).

But I always start off like this and then my lazy pig pops up and I just can't be arsed, so I've decided, I'm doubling up my cooking and freezing my own "ready meals" for those days when I can't be bothered /too knackered after work to cook. Hopefully it will keep me on track. The husband is also dragging me out for a longer dog walk after dinner each day ( even in the rain!).

Now what shall I do with that Christmas stocking chocolate ( I've got loads). Part of me is tempted to leave it in sight of the teen so it does a vanishing act, my piggy is saying portion it up and hide it away...... Hmmm, can I do moderation ? 🤔

Inastatus · 09/01/2023 09:34

Morning. I have bought batteries for scales but haven’t got round to putting them in yet so I’m still blissfully unaware of my actual weight although my waistband is definitely trying to tell me something! I’m going to take the dog for a brisk walk in a minute and have booked yoga class for later.
