Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

Yay well done @Mañanarama .

Went out for a meal last night but didn't eat quite as much as I normally would. Have just come home and eaten some of my Son's Birthday cake though. As of today, we have two teenagers in the house.

Do any of you other piggies find that eating more fruit and veg makes you feel unwell. I know I should eat more to be healthy (weight loss aside),but generally find that if I try and eat more than a small amount, I get a bad stomach and feel tired and crap(no pun intended). It doesn't help my motivation when I actually feel healthier eating junk.

StephanieSuperpowers · 09/02/2023 17:26

Good work, my stymates! I'm unfortunately letting the side down a bit - 1lb up...

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 09/02/2023 19:09

Evening piggies,

I'm still hanging on. Weigh day tomorrow and will hopefully be down a bit. Had a sneak look midweek and seemed to be headed in the right direction so fingers crossed.

@Mañanarama great news about the jeans. Look forward to getting to that stage myself ( my wardrobe currently has from size 8 to 16 in it 😂, I'd love to wear the smaller ones again, which currently only fit my toe!)

Carouselfish · 09/02/2023 19:30

Hi all, Ive just downloaded an app that Im using for calorie counting, exercises, water and steps.
What finally gave me a kick was looking at riding holidays and their height to weight ratio at a ranch I liked the look of...I was top end of their allowance. Erk.
Anyway, am enjoying turning my diet around, cue lots of avocado and wholemeal blah blah and oh look Ive got enough calories saved for a mars ice cream! But the water intake is HARD! Feel constantly sloshy...
Did the 20min fat burning workout and while it looked easy it really opened my eyes to how unfit I am and how my body feels like the enemy at the moment.

poshme · 09/02/2023 19:55

@Carouselfish I try and have lots of water early in the day- later on I start to feel sloshy.

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 10/02/2023 07:39

Morning Oinksters,

Braved the scales this morning and happy to say I'm now back heading in the right direction. I blame last week's gain on fat heavy COVID germs 😉

Only lost five and a half pounds since January but it's better than gaining that!

Good luck to everyone wishing to keep fuck it Friday at bay.

Inks42 · 10/02/2023 08:40

I’m very late to this thread, but can I join?

I’m a lazy pig. 🐷

Crisps are my downfall. I have a desk job and hate exercise. When I get home or finish work after WFH I slouch on the sofa and watch tv or read Mumsnet while snacking. I desperately need to loose weight. Last time I had dared to weigh myself months ago I was 85kg so I didn’t dare to look after that.

in January I made a new years promise to eat more healthily. This resulted in a week or two of putting it off and then we did a meal plan for two weeks in a row. Nothing revolutionary, just planning the meals to have a plan which naturally resulted in less snacking.
then two weeks ago I was tired, so didn’t plan, but we muddled through that week. This week has been rubbish. So kind of already the Lazy Pig diet plan, but without proper lazy purpose.

Earlier this week I read another weight loss thread on here and thinking about the good tips, but I’m far too lazy to actually do any of it.
This thread sounds more my speed. After reading 10 pages I felt like you are my people and I decided to weigh myself. 81.2 kg. This is my start.

So after putting it off -ish since January, here is my plan:
Plan meals for the week
do at least one 5 minute stretch on the bend app every day (or when I can be arsed)
Think about other exercises and maybe do one now and again
snack a little less
use the soda stream and drink more sparkling water

Mañanarama · 10/02/2023 12:40

Well done everyone and welcome @Inks42 ! Judging by your last paragraph you’ll fit right in here at the LPC!

Happy weekend to you all, remember it’s the thought that counts, enjoy 🐷

@Inchstonesbeatmilestones 5.5 pounds is great!

I went into work today and my colleague (who I haven seen for about 2 weeks) said 'you look thinner!' Hooray!!!

Mañanarama · 10/02/2023 14:11

Oooh @poshme that’s marvellous! I’m not sure people will notice my weight loss because I’ve been covered up in winter clothes for months, but I can dream 😂

This little piggie went to Asda and bought some Cadbury Chocolate Clusters. Ate far too many of them and wondering what would be nice for dinner tonight. Was about a pound up since last week, but I do always fluctuate a little bit.

DietQueen2023 · 10/02/2023 19:25

I’ve been terrible for the past two days. 🫣

Hoping I can pull it back this weekend.

Inks42 · 11/02/2023 08:08

Morning LPC,

I made a start yesterday. 5 minute morning stretches. Toast with cheese and tomato for breakfast, chicken sandwich and salad for lunch.
Evening is where it falls apart a bit. Friday family film feast requires pizza. 2 small pizzas from the corner shop cooked in the oven and some chips from the air fryer for 3 people was better than the take away pizzas we normally get.
However DDs habit of eating painfully slow and leaving lots of leftovers had me scoffing her leftovers.
She also found the macaroons I’d bought on the way home from drinks with work the night before, so we shared 3 of them.
No other snacking though, so I call that a win.

This morning I’ve been reading more pages of this thread and downloaded a few recommended apps so I can pick which one I like. Thinking of what I might do counts right? Small steps.

HamFrancisco · 11/02/2023 08:42

Hello curly tailed comrades. No scales for me as I’m in the throes of period hell.
A friend of mine thought I’d lost weight the other night, I think it was a flattering outfit but I’ll take it!

whatausername · 12/02/2023 13:04

This morning I lost 1.8lb in a matter of minutes. Forgot a key step before stepping on the scales. At least that answers the question of how much my bladder holds overnight 😂

whatausername · 12/02/2023 13:05

I've not posted much as I've been in a tricky period and I'm also going slower than the herd which makes me feel a bit bad

poshme · 12/02/2023 13:58

@whatausername what a great bladder!

Going slowly is still good- and you might then have a bit more of a loss. And staying the same can be good too- I always think it's good when I haven't gained at all (after all the wine).

vicaragechristmas · 13/02/2023 12:31

Hey @whatausername you can't be going as slowly as me! I’m down 2lb then up 3lb all blimmin week, absolutely no solid change, still stuck around 14st 5lb ish.

The vestry mouse has been caught (humanely) and relocated so no more blaming stolen biscuits on him/her!

Mañanarama · 13/02/2023 16:34

I’m stuck between 10st4 and 10st5 and I’ve had a huge lunch out today which won’t have helped. Going to have to be really good for the rest of the week. I really wanna see that 10st3!!!

BigMacExtraPickles · 14/02/2023 08:54

Did my first weigh in this am.

10st 11.4lb to 10st 10lb

Bloody hate these early weeks. Seems like so much effort and so little reward 😫

I should be chuffed I'm 1.4lb down but it been bloody hard. Suppose I did dine out at the weekend and I did have some wine.

TheDogsMother · 14/02/2023 09:22

Hello Piglets. I've been lying low as I've been battling with the same two pounds on and off which has been so frustrating. I've had a great non scales victory though. I have an old and very favourite pair of jeans which had been consigned to the back of the wardrobe for about 18 months. I thought I'd give them a try and hurrah they're a perfect fit 👏

Slowly but surely plod, plod, plod

HamFrancisco · 14/02/2023 09:33

No change for me on the scales today, but someone did tell me I looked a bit thinner the other day, so I'm taking that as a win.

Colinthedaxi · 15/02/2023 07:20

So January was steady loss, four pounds over five weeks but always heading down… and as of today three of those are back on 😞 gloomy pudgy swine

Mañanarama · 15/02/2023 09:02

I’ve truly fallen off the pig bus and can’t stop eating. Today I’m going back to just protein all day and no big tea or pudding. Meh.

Don't lose heart, piggies! It's a marathon (other nut based chocolate bars are available) not a sprint.
