Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

Oh and weighed in today at 10st 11.4lbs 😬

Welcome!! That is the exact same weight I started on 9th Jan and today am 10st 4.6, so it’s totally doable! Should add I have done sod all exercise in that time, averaging well under 1000 steps a day (and most of those have been round Ikea/ B&Q as we’ve been doing a room up.)

Keep us posted!!

Hey @Mañanarama 😊

Thanks for starting the thread. I feel like I need all the support I can get and happy to throw some at people too!!

Mine will be achieved by eating 1500cals a day and running/walking.

I don't believe in cutting out food groups or putting anything "off limits" - I'm an seasoned dieter and I find I just crave whatever is outlawed more!!

I run for my mental health, not really for weight loss. When I don't run I end up I. A bad headspace/over eat/gain weight/then bury my head in sand over weight gain and don't run because my head is buried! So the key is for me to stay active!

You're doing great on your journey. Are you following a particular plan? Or limiting j
Intake?

Mañanarama · 06/02/2023 14:31

I just ate so much from the minute autumn set in. Winter warmer type food and an appalling penchant for several biscuits in one sitting. Add an insane amount of Christmas chocolate loveliness and I just knew I’d peaked as I flubbered towards 11 stone.

I’ve stopped eating biscuits, pretty much. Stopped mainlining Lindt. Trying not eat massive sarnies at lunchtime. Smallest piece of garlic bread etc etc. The first half stone has gone relatively easily, the next will be trickier!

I should add the thread has helped an enormous amount, having all the fellow piggies trying and succeeding and failing but always laughing!

BigMacExtraPickles · 06/02/2023 14:36

Lolling hard at the biscuits!!! I ate an ENTIRE packet of shortbread dunked in tea yesterday (had a binge as I knew I was signing off as of today!!).

Do you do that? Have a "last hurrah"?

At the weekend I had:

Domino's (veggie supreme with added chicken and chorizo YUM) and lashings of garlic and herb dip.

Yesterday was a roast with yorkshires and lemon meringue pie with cream, and wine and the shortbread. Oh and 2 creme eggs!!!!

Bloody hell reading that back is gross 🤮

Mañanarama · 06/02/2023 15:31

Yeah I absolutely had a last hurrah, several in fact. Between 28th Dec and 8th Jan I made three key lime pies and ate my own body weight in meat and potatoes. I then heroically devoured almost all the chocolate in the house on the Sunday night and did my first weigh in Monday morning after rolling into the bathroom, bouncing off walls as I went. Had to shock myself into kick starting things!

Back on my 1000 cals a day regime......it’s been hard today and usually Mondays are ok after a more relaxed (shamefully gluttonous) couple of days.

Still got a Milky Way to enjoy before bedtime...rock and roll.

Keep going fellow sty-dwellers 🐷

It’s a really nice thread. I don’t comment much but I’m loving all you piggies.

Exactly the same!!! I also had to shock myself!

I said to DP last night..."I don't even want this 2nd creme egg...but I need to eat it to feel rank and want to leave this gluttony behind" 🤣🤣

Colinthedaxi · 06/02/2023 20:43

We've been getting Gousto three nights a week to get a grip of portion control. Husband is away on a course this week... "Have you paused Gousto?" "No, I'm going to just do it and I will have a delicious healthy dinner with leftovers for lunch"

... and we all know that's how I managed to eat (apparently) two portions of Tandoori Salmon!!

... and still fancy something sweet.

poshme · 07/02/2023 08:38

I'm still here!

Surprisingly considering the amount of wine I had at the weekend, I'm another lb down- which is 5lb off since 1st January!

Ate rather too many peanuts yesterday, but they're protein so that's ok right?

I have heard that being cold burns more calories- and it's freezing here today (including inside) so i can eat more lunch. Grin

HamFrancisco · 07/02/2023 08:57

Well done @poshme , you're my 5lb twin! 🐷🐷

poshme · 07/02/2023 09:07

Feel like I should change my name to poshHam

orangegato · 07/02/2023 12:32

Just found this thread and it’s giving me life, thank you @Mañanarama.

I don’t weigh myself (is it ever good news?) but I can see with my eyeballs how much damage I’ve done. Need to un-lard arse before the weather warms up and I have to stop wearing my ankle length puffer coat.

Octopus45 · 07/02/2023 17:00

I'm another one who loves this thread.Agree that being cold probably burns up a few more calories. Was 9st0.25 this morning. Have managed just over 10,000 steps for the last couple of days.

poshme · 07/02/2023 18:02

Not sure it was cold enough to negate the bag of chips from the chippy my colleague got me at lunch time!

Tomorrow is another day.

Mañanarama · 07/02/2023 23:07

Oh I’ve had a crap day - work was a bit crap, teenagers are a bit crap, and I’ve eaten a load of crap.

Wahhhhhhhh oink

BigMacExtraPickles · 08/02/2023 16:07

Sorry if I'm a decade behind you long term dieting folks BUT...

Here is a diet cake bar that is bloody glorious and doesn't taste like shit!!!

I've ordered a gazillion!!!!!!

BaconAndAvocado · 08/02/2023 19:09

Crap day here.
Creme egg and biscuits consumed.
And the night is young.

LazyPig · 08/02/2023 22:32

Mañanarama · 06/02/2023 10:00

Who have we still got on the slowly slowly plan? Anyone else want to post their 4 week progress?

I'm still here! Have had a dreadful week with a family crisis and keep stumbling into the biscuit tin, so instead of eating I've been baking and ended up feeding everyone whole orange drizzle cake and 3 flavours of cupcakes. I've got such a poor relationship with food!

Exasperating, but started off 11 Jan 15st1, and this morning 13st11. Not done any exercise mind - too exhausted from eating so few calories....

BazingaBaby · 09/02/2023 06:47

Crappy week so far here, stress eating and gained 2lb apparently since Sunday! Overall have lost 6lb since I started even taking into account this weeks gain so trying to console my piggy self that I'm still ok and just get back on it today.

Hope all piggies are ok and those having bad days not feeling too rough xx

poshme · 09/02/2023 07:23

@LazyPig that's great!

Well this morning I was very chuffed- had to use the next hole on my belt. Which means that although I can't see the difference, my belt can!! I know that by lunchtime I might have to loosen it a bit due to bloat, but it feels like such an achievement!

Next week is AF, so I know weight will go up again, but I finally feel like I'm making actual progress.
Slowly but surely.

Mañanarama · 09/02/2023 10:34

Same here @poshme, kind of! I bought some size 14 jeans in the sale a few months ago (have been a 10-12 most of my adult life) and I’ve put them on today and they’re loose on me, hooray! I bought the same pair in a 12 first which were super snug at the time, so I’ll give it a couple of weeks and see how they are.

10.4.4 today so exactly half a stone down after a calendar month but have been hovering around 10st 5 for a couple of weeks. Waist feels smaller. Would love to get below 10 by the end of Feb but we’ll see!

Keep going piggies!! 🐷

@Mañanarama hooray for smaller jeans!
