Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

I use an app called healthii. Horrendous name but a good app.

Ebananascroogey · 10/01/2023 08:25

@MKDmumofflash you did make me laugh with your post. I can offer a glimmer of hope, breathe deeply, oh so deeply whilst in prison, in my experience the smell will be enough to put you off food for life, well days, well actually maybe a couple of hours, but every little helps!!

Well done to all the piggies who had a good day yesterday & to everyone else, keep going you can do it!

Yesterday was an ok day for me, only 1 square of chocolate & no wine, I'd like to say it was easy but I'd be lying. Today I'm in the office so I know I'll be out for lunch & I'm already craving Thai fries. However this morning I decided to hit some ambulances on my way into work, so I've already racked up 4800 steps & I managed to avoid Greggs for breakfast & stick to my porridge, so I'm hoping that will cancel out any later naughtiness!

Anyone else a daily weigher?
I’ve lost half a pound since yesterday 😇

I track my weight in a free app called Happy Scale which does fancy graphs and tracks your weight over time to give you a better idea of the real figures beyond the fluctuations. I’m keen to look at the figures but far too lazy to do spreadsheets and the like.
Happy Scale informs me this morning that my weekly average has reduced by 0.1 pounds, which sounds good until I add I’m now only putting on an average of 0.2 pounds a week!
still, baby steps eh?

Im on the road for work all day today. Could go well if I only eat the snacks I’m taking. Helped by the fact that I’m out in the countryside so there won’t be many drive throughs……

have a good day everyone

Well, 10st9.8 this morning. Are my scales broken or is this just an anomaly? Encouraging! I’m sure it’ll go back on the minute I have a proper meal.

I finally got the courage together and weighed myself this morning, and I have inadvertently lost some flab!

I was 15st4 on 26/09. Today I am 15st1!

My goal today is not to celebrate such a success in my weight loss journey, by eating all sorts of crap. I wonder if I might be able to lose the same sort of poundage in a little less than 15 weeks now I've got motivation from all you lot!

Eggs and ham, @Mañanarama, eggs and ham!

Can y’all hear my tummy rumbling from here? May sound like distant thunder if you’re at the other end of the country.

Morning all!

Well I can safely say the last 24hrs have summed up ALL my previous weight loss attempts. After the monster flat bread (to keep me going) I obviously needed to stop for a Gregs on the way to court. Only saving grace is that I strung the chicken pasty out to do lunch as well (plus obligatory Belgium bun). Then 2hr drive scooping up and chucking out children, fueled by a packet of sweeties, dinner with friends, and just now a premier inn breakfast.

I can't even mainline coffee to take the edge off as I haven't worked out how to go for a wee in prison 😬

Good luck everyone today, sending reducing porkiness vibes.

Now a month in prison would maybe be good for my lazy pigginess?? A nice prison obvs with like minded piggies .

heartbeatacrossthegrass · 10/01/2023 08:51

I use the charmingly named "Fat Secret" app which is actually pretty user friendly and does calories and weight.

Morning fellow pigs! I stuck to my plan yesterday and am a pound lighter this morning.

Today breakfast was scrambled eggs on toast, lunch will be soup and oatcakes again and then chilli con carne with rice for dinner. I have found that those little Milky Way bars are 97 calories each so that will be my end-of-day treat today. Oink.

poshme · 10/01/2023 09:26

Sadly all the wine last night meant I'm up 0.1kg.
So no wine today.

vicaragechristmas · 10/01/2023 09:26

Lazy pig here, I’m trying to cycle and scooter more and I NEED to improve my core strength as my back is weak and hips are very painful.

Currently my plan is to do yoga after work on Monday/Friday, pilates on Wednesday, squats on Tuesday, day off on Thursday, not sure how the weekend will go yet but I will come up with a plan for that. I will also do calorie counting using MyFitness Pal.

I need to go and weigh myself shortly to find out my starting weight. Not looking forward to that!

MyOldCaravan · 10/01/2023 09:31

Sounds like a real mixed bag for everyone then, which is pretty much how my diet plans always go.

I'm trying to be more healthy with my food and cut out the sugar, which is always tough to begin with.

Had 3 walnuts and a bowl of cereal for an evening snack, which took the edge off. Was hungry again by 11 so had to go to bed to stop myself eating again.

Is there a weigh-in day for everyone? I'll probably post my success (or otherwise) on a Monday, as I find it encouraging to see I'm (hopefully) going in the right direction.

Good luck to you all you little piggies out there for Day Two.

I’ve already eaten my lunch. Christ.

A big bowl of porridge or a bacon sandwich usually do the trick as you’ll find you’ll wake up super hungry if eating less in the evenings. Give yourself enough food to fuel.

Namechangeforthis88 · 10/01/2023 10:18

Swerved the breakfast rolls and scones in the canteen. Win.
Fell for the last mince pie on the communal food table in the office. Not a win.

muddlingthrou · 10/01/2023 10:22

Oops... I'd actually been pretty good this week, but I've just finished off a mini chocolate cake that I bought for my birthday - tomorrow 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ definitely a greedy pig! I can work it off on the short walk to pick my DD up from the childminder later, right? It's raining, so that burns more calories....?

Oh I think it’s @Octopus45 birthday today (or was it yesterday)? Happy birthday to both of you!!

I’d definitely call that a win!! You could have all of it and you didn’t!!

@Mañanarama thank you! And happy birthday to @Octopus45 too.

I was hoping to feel a bit more svelte at my birthday gathering on Saturday. I'll be seeing lots of people I haven't seen in ages, and I'm worried they'll go away thinking I've really let myself go... but I also want to enjoy my birthday so 🤷🏽‍♀️ what is there to do?

SparklyThrow · 10/01/2023 11:02

I work on the premise that protein / fat keeps me satisfied for longer. So try to snack on boiled eggs, nuts, cheese etc rather than carbs.

SparklyThrow · 10/01/2023 11:06

I also read mint can help quell hunger, so I suck on a sugar free mint or sip mint tea. Maybe a placebo but it works for me.

Inastatus · 10/01/2023 11:09

@muddlingthrou - happy birthday. Enjoy every minute of your gathering, do not let a bit of extra weight stop you! Most of us have put on a few extra pounds over Xmas and real friends shouldn’t be judging you that way in any case! If you need a confidence boost how about getting some Spanx? Otherwise just put on your best smile and have a great time - dancing burns calories.

whatausername · 10/01/2023 11:26

My usual emergency (aka it's what feckin' time??) breakfast was green and unripe so, given I had seconds for breakfast, a mini Dairy Milk bar and a glass of milk was what I scarfed. At least I wasn't late for the appointment with the lovely woman who had squeezed me into her diary!

Good news is that late last night I made a huge dent in my presentation. Hoping to make a dent in another assignment today. With reduced stress will come reduced stress eating, yah? My theory is that by better managing life/emotions I will eat more healthily.

PanettoneMoly · 10/01/2023 11:47

My week 1 weigh in was a bit of a disaster. 71.3kg last week, after breakfasting on No-Added Sugar Alpen all week (ie floor sweepings & sawdust) you can imagine my horror to find the scales reading 72.2kg. Then, after changing the batteries, 72.8kg, 70.6kg, 70.9kg and finally 73.2kg as I moved them to various places around the near vicinity (tiled/wooden floors). Needless to say, a new set of scales is winging its way towards me as I type. Week 1, take two… 🙄

Same here. It gives a satiated feeling.

As PP wrote about the huge link between stress/lack of time or not enough sleep will really have you reaching for chocolate/biscuits and highly processed snacks.

Making time for yourself and getting a really good nights sleep/managing stress will help so much with self control and well-being.
