Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

Weighed in at a pretty shameful 14st 1 today wahhhh! However have kept to 1800 calories, walked the dog and cycled to work today so going in the right direction I hope!

inthekitchensink · 09/01/2023 17:37

Ok so I just got home from the first of my three Busy Days (did I mention they are so very busy) and I managed to avoid the biscuits in the staff room and ate fruit and some weird grain pouch thing. But now have a glass of wine and a dairy milk from the roses bag my mum just dropped off. It’s over for me, isn’t it?

PanettoneMoly · 09/01/2023 17:49

Please may I join too? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Last time I lost weight, I was 37 with a lot of time on my hands and got married at 9 stone. Fast forward 5 years and I have a 2 year old DD, I’m slightly more than 2 stone heavier than that pre-preggers weight (and more lazily, a stone heavier than I was when she was 6 months old) and very little of my wardrobe actually fits.

Recently got congratulated on being pregnant again to which I could only respond “nope, just a fatty” and I have to go on a family holiday in May during which time I’ll probably need to don a swimming cozzie. Therefore, thus and hence I’d like to lose as much of my 2 stones of lard as possible by then

Colinthedaxi · 09/01/2023 18:19

@Mañanarama i am lightly concerned after all these squats you might go to pee in the morning and be too stiff to get back up 🤣. Best take a snack just incase…

poshme · 09/01/2023 18:21

I'm doing well. Lots of veg today with protein. Not too many carbs.

Sadly have mostly sat on my arse so step count below 6,000.

Dinner is chicken & veg. With wine as my carbs. Smile

Snorklette · 09/01/2023 18:22

Wow! So many replies since yesterday!

My day didn’t start well as I forgot to actually weigh myself. However, I have also had a truly epic attack of the Squirty Bertie’s so in fact I think I must be at least ten pounds lighter than yesterday! An excellent start.

Doyathinkhesaurus · 09/01/2023 18:26

Is it possible to be an evening only pig? I've been preening at how good I've been today but I may have to eat my bodyweight in digestives and cheese! I've got char sui pork, green stuff stir fry and rice for dinner. It's going to take ages to make! Far too long to wait... mmm bit more cheese...

Someone stop me!!!!

poshme · 09/01/2023 18:34

@Doyathinkhesaurus that's my issue. Daytimes I'm ok.

But nuts & crisps & cheese and wine and more cheese and more wine.

poshme · 09/01/2023 18:36

@SallySunrise
(And anyone else)
Does sitting in a sauna use calories? Because that's a weight loss plan I can get enthusiastic about.
Very happy to sit in a sauna for 15/30 minutes a day.

Ebananascroogey · 09/01/2023 18:42

Apologies to everyone now craving flatbread!
I had tuna, sweetcorn & brown rice for lunch & finished with a yogurt instead of chocolate so feeling very virtuous now!
However I am starving & can think about nothing but food!! I think I will literally be running to the office tomorrow knowing it's treat day, and trying to convince my workmates to go for lunch at 9am!!

Snorklette · 09/01/2023 18:51

@poshme

Yup. This also me. Love the lovely cheese, wine, nuts, wine. And cheese.

BobBobBobbing · 09/01/2023 18:57

@inthekitchensink nah, it's not over. Remember we need to eat 5 less digestive and you did that today in the office. And you had some vitamins when you had fruit. You are in training and no one expects perfection everytime.

Lovely dinner by DD but it did have cream in the sauce. I had cabbage instead of potato gratin so that's a plus. Surprisingly cabbage is one of the few bits of vegetation I can tolerate. I am NOT GOOD with fruit and veg.

Found out my hotel for the next few days does not have breakfast included so no fry up temptation. I should be pleased but I'm Sad

Pastatonight · 09/01/2023 18:59

I would like to announce I walked for a hour today and said no to a second one of these.. feeling quite virtuous 😀

Day One seems to have gone well so far, but evenings are the biggest challenge for me.

Breakfast was porridge and raspberries
Lunch carrot and coriander soup with unbuttered (!!) toast and an apple*

Dinner teriyaki chicken stir fry and coconut rice

No snacks tonight. Definitely no snacks. No. No. No.

Good luck to everyone, it's not easy.

*Michael Moseley's podcast about An Apple a Day is really fascinating.

whatausername · 09/01/2023 19:07

Cereal
Banana (angrily nibbled)
Scotch pies (let's skip merrily by)
Orzo, veg and fishcake (still skipping...two dollops of mayonnaise on the side but you gotta have something!)

poshme · 09/01/2023 19:32

Found a box of baklava that needed finishing.

So I finished it. Good news it's now gone. Bad news it was quite a lot.

TomAllenWife · 09/01/2023 19:37

Good day for me

1400 cals
7k steps
40 mins weights sesh

Now I need to go to bed before I eat anything 😂

BazingaBaby · 09/01/2023 19:48

Bad day here! Got roughly 8stone to lose Angry so angry with myself but determined now I've found you lovely lot I'm going to stick with it and just make little changes so I don't give up again. I will not be fat at Christmas! So please send all the will power this way, I'm gonna need it. My new job should help though as there's more stairs and less snacks so already a bonus. May even get up early and go to the gym before work tomorrow, provided I get my knackered butt in bed early too!

StephanieSuperpowers · 09/01/2023 19:56

Can I join, please? I think this is the club I've been looking for. I'm going to try and obviously be amazing (ahem). Day 1 today was fine so I can do another, probably. Maybe even tomorrow.

Mañanarama · 09/01/2023 20:22

🐷 Forgive me piggies, for I have sinned…

Half price in B&M and it was the last one and I am weak… but my thinking is, because they’re individually wrapped rather than e.g a pouch of twirl bites or a big bar of dairy milk, it will take more effort and I will feel more accountable and basically I’m sorry and I’m really shit but obviously I love bargains a tiny bit more than being super skinny so, well, whatever really.

I’ll only have a couple or three a day. 🐷

Off to a v lazy start today. No weigh in as can’t be arsed to change batteries in electronic scales. Sourdough toast with marmite for breakfast, sushi for lunch, melon and blueberries for snack, chicken Kiev, a few sweet potato fries and salad for dinner. An hours dog walk and a yoga class. Just had a small beer but I really want some wine 🙁 Need to keep repeating the mantra ‘no wine = svelte swine’.

inthekitchensink · 09/01/2023 20:33

Thanks Bob @BobBobBobbing I didn’t have 5 digestive biscuits so I’ve perked right up at the thought of being slim in the morning. I apologise for the over emotional state, it was not in the spirit of the lazy pig club.

Good God, woman! If heaven were wrapped in tinfoil encased in plastic that would be it.

Don't worry about the guilt, it'll pass quickly :-D extra squats tomorrow though!

MichaelAndEagle · 09/01/2023 20:52

Haven't weighed myself but have stuck to calorie allowance my fitness pal gave me, went to the gym did 20 minutes brisk uphill walk and 5 minute running (first running in aaaaages) the plan is to increase the running time.
This was challenging but not exhausting.
Drinking hot water with ginger and lemon. I've just had the shopping delivered, now would be when I would raid the biscuits..... but I don't want to spoil my good day.
