I can't put it off much longer, I am getting very large and uncomfortable. My eating has become very out of control.

I need to shift around 4 stone, not sure exactly as I am to scared to get on the scales.

Anyone want to join me for a big new start and weigh in on Sunday 1st January?

Hey @wizzler

just got in from another 10 hour day and saw your message - it’s so odd. I think I take it so hard when I out on! Maybe unnecessarily…

Friend told me I am not helping weighing every day but I know it works for me!

will post tomorrow

Eggsley · 04/01/2023 17:59

Thanks @Mumski45 I'm feeling motivated at the moment.

Burger (no bun) and salad tonight. Might have a hot chocolate as a treat if I have enough calories left.

Today so far I've eaten
Overnight Oats with apple and chia seeds
Rocket and spinach salad with chicken tikka
Handful of nuts and raisins, satsuma

I've drank about 1 litre of weak diluted juice and half a smoothie

Think dinner will be either chilli or spaghetti bolognaise

Went to the gym after work, came home and DH has ordered takeaway 😫 I've done so well today!

Thank you @2023istheyearigetmyacttogether I’m feeling almost normal today.

I had a good day yesterday and just porridge so far today. I’m planning firecracker chicken tonight. It’s a Simply Cook recipe so an easy meal.

I absolutely love the simply cook meals. The wild mushroom penne is my favourite ❤️

scaredysquiggle · 04/01/2023 18:07

Well done to all for keeping going and commiserations to those battling with the scale.

I'm still laid up and eating small meals. I've had steamed veg and chicken breast today and only managed soup yesterday. I've been drinking plenty of fluids and can't wait to feel better.

I got weighed today as I was bored of Netflix and so have put it in happy scale. I know I will put back on as I feel better so I'm trying not to get to attached to the 2lb loss.

CurlyClairey · 04/01/2023 18:27

Did well yesterday and then snacked on crisps on the evening!!!! I was soooo hungry.

Today has been ok but I snacked on crisps yet again 🫣

Exercise: 30 minute run

Food: porridge
Black coffee
Melon and pineapple slices
Lentil soup
2 x trek bar
2 fried eggs on toast with spinach
Crisps

Threeboysandadog · 04/01/2023 19:01

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa I loved the mushroom penne too. The Vietnamese pork and the linguine with prawns and rocket are probably my favourite.

wizzler · 04/01/2023 19:16

Can I just say that I on Monday I donated my remaining mini Daimler bar stash to Dd and tonight I have turned down a McDonalds while the rest of the house had one, so if I don't lose weight there is absolutely no justice .

wizzler · 04/01/2023 19:17

@scaredysquiggle hope you feel better soon

2023istheyearigetmyacttogether · 04/01/2023 19:35

Great to read some success stories already.
Another good day although I was 150 cals over due to having a jacket potato with all of the fillings. My favourite meal ever! Like @wizzler I feel I deserve to lose as I skipped the butter, had a very small amount of pre-weighed cheese and didn't eat the leftovers at the end. Normally, I'm a fiend for eating those. I also managed to stop myself from eating any cheese when getting the cheese in and out of the fridge. Again, I could easily eat a block.
I am polishing my halo exercise wise. I've done 30 mins on the treadmill, day 3 of the 30 day shred and am just off to Pilates.
Back to work tomorrow so moving onto Slimfast for ease. I'll see how I find it. I did it 10yrs ago and it was a useful kick start. Exercise is going to be a bit more challenging once I'm back as I have a 90 minute commute.
@EddietheEagle hiking is wonderful! Some of my favourite moments in life have been when hiking. Whilst I wouldn't go too far on your first hike for all sorts of reasons, I don't think you need worry too much about wearing in your boots. I think that that was more of an issue when they were all made of leather rather than the fabrics that most of todays are made from.

comeon2023 · 04/01/2023 19:57

@sylv165 I managed to fit in a lunchtime run today so did week 3 run 1! Going from 90 second runs to 3 minutes is a fucker but I enjoyed it

I've been mostly eating well but for some reason I feel really bloated today. Just stole some of the DCs leftover xmas chocolate and didn't even enjoy it... ugh

comeon2023 · 04/01/2023 19:59

@EddietheEagle the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned were my old Scarpa hiking boots, a pair of those will set you back at least £150 though...

I'm not gonna be spending that.. the thing is my daughter will need a pair too so don't fancy spending £300.

Hopefully a cheaper pair will be ok

Ha ha yes, my teens just ordered a takeaway and they felt bad for me. They ordered me a coke zero.

Sports Direct & Decathlon often have good cheap ones

HairsprayBabe · 04/01/2023 21:17

Avoided the cake while out with DM today, bar half a bite my toddler insisted I share

We did do soft play though and I am 100% sure that is a work out!

Scrambled eggs for lunch then 3 veggie sausages and a load of veg for dinner, hungry so just had a little ramekin of blueberry not really helped but I'm holding on 😑

I had very sicky pregnancies so never gained much at all DS was born in lockdown so couldn't just swan off to cafés every other day DD was born last Feb and I have to say it has been a much cakeier experience

Kaylisa · 04/01/2023 22:30

Still going strong here. Have been on a daily walk. Went for a catch up with a friend and am she had a fry up and I just had a drink (ate before I went)
usually I would always eat when meeting friends, which I will do occasionally. But I’m trying to retrain my brain that it’s the socializing I like. The food (and spending money!) I can do without. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be watching her eat.

rumbypumby · 04/01/2023 22:51

Day 4 done ✅

Lunch was leftover chilli with salad
Dinner was mixed bean Quaesedillas
Some low cal ice cream after
Came in under cal allowance but no workout today

EddietheEagle · 04/01/2023 22:54

Well done everyone. We got this!!

Onto day 5.....

Minnie123456 · 04/01/2023 23:22

Non starter this week for me, I'm still on Christmas mode🙈. I'm back to work tomorrow so hopefully routine will help and only being able to eat at certain times of the day. I did manage a short walk today. Will weigh myself either Sat or Sun but i'm expecting a gain.

Bouledeneige · 05/01/2023 01:05

I've not been super strict but am sticking to my rules. No eating before 12noon or after 8pm. No alcohol (only since Saturday!).

Soup, a little bread, apple and yoghurt for lunch and then light supper: tomato sauce, red pepper and beans with some cheddar on top. Thats it today.

(Carefully forgetting the Percy pigs DD gave me yesterday)....

AutumnOcean · 05/01/2023 01:29

I've cut back on sugar and I'm feeling pretty good. Will jump on the scales on the weekend.
Have kept up with my gym schedule too.

Twateralflow · 05/01/2023 06:13

Good day yesterday came in well under within calories - smoothie for lunch and vegan curry with small portion of rice for dinner. 16k steps and 8k run. Today is going to be trickier as office based but will go for a walk at lunch time and will do yoga once home. I used to be a morning exerciser but I'm finding if I get in from work and put my exercise clothes straight on I work out.

Twateralflow · 05/01/2023 06:15

A good tip I use to beet sweet cravings or to stifle hunger a little is low calorie hot chocolate drinks I have the vegan options sometimes in the evening if I feel the urge to eat chocolate

wizzler · 05/01/2023 07:23

Back to work today. Historically I reach for the biscuits whenever I need a break, so just need to reach for fruit instead
I'm trying to stop all the snacking on choc and carbs and cheese, while eating reasonably sensibly. Once I've mastered that, I'll start to think about cutting down calories etc in meals. If I diet too hard at the start I always give up.
