I can't put it off much longer, I am getting very large and uncomfortable. My eating has become very out of control.

I need to shift around 4 stone, not sure exactly as I am to scared to get on the scales.

Anyone want to join me for a big new start and weigh in on Sunday 1st January?

So, I dropped 4lbs yesterday.

I can only imagine that’s water retention (??) as I drank nearly 2L yesterday/avoided alcohol (for the first time in too long). I certainly had to go to the loo late at night much more than usual 🙄

Today will be interesting - I did a 15 min dance workout in front of the tv, went for a long walk and will be well under my calories today as a result. Bet I’ve put on when I step on the scales tomorrow. 🤣🤣

dylgan · 02/01/2023 17:42

I weigh daily - I find it impossible not to. I have also taken measurements (for the first time in years). Im hoping that when inevitable stall on the scales happen I will see some losses in measurements.

HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2023 17:55

I weigh daily when i want to lose, if I'm not in the zone then I just maintain 😑

I maintained for about 3 years before I had the children and weighed once a week or so then.

I really want to measure when I get out of Covid jail. As I think after a few days of not eating properly and not going to the gym that the scale numbers are going to be artificially low and then go up as I start putting food back in my system. I've dropped a jeans size and a bit since I started the gym in October but my weight has been static.

I weigh daily.keeps me focussed

KathyBurke · 02/01/2023 19:45

I weigh daily too.

unicornsandchocolate · 02/01/2023 20:11

I have been ok today and yesterday but back to work and routine tomorrow and will start 100% tomorrow-tracking on MFT and doing a workout. I think going to bed earlier will really help me so that's one non-food/exercise habit I need to work on.

lorisparkle · 02/01/2023 20:37

I find weighing daily keeps me on track (especially as I did not weigh over Christmas and the weight crept on!)

2023istheyearigetmyacttogether · 02/01/2023 20:40

The kitchen is now closed for the day.
I had nothing for breakfast as I was too full from New Year Day's food, had homemade lentil soup with a granary roll (no butter) and some chopped up veg sticks for lunch, an apple and peanut butter as a mid afternoon snack and then chicken with a creamy mushroom & spinach sauce (Joe Wicks recipe), new potatoes and loads of green veg.
I have drunk 3 litres of water, two peppermint teas and a coffee with a dash of milk. I have done about 1000 extra steps today just from all of the trips to the loo!

LostaraYil · 02/01/2023 22:51

Good day today, I did a short but painful LesMills workout and went for a lovely walk. Lunch was tuna salad and dinner was roast veg and salmon. I did snack on cheese, blueberries and dark chocolate but it's a huge improvement from what I've been eating for the last month. Onwards and upwards.

learning2fly · 02/01/2023 22:52

Bad day here. Succumbed to a V large piece of cake.... with cream! Hate myself. Tomorrow's another day

HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2023 23:00

Those of you with small children how do you exercise? I used to go to circuit training but they aren't on at decent times and our gym has no crèche. I like stuff with bigger weights that I can't really have at home so at home stuff never feels good to me...

Good day here. I had a pizza omelette for dinner and soup for lunch, 2nd fast day tomorrow I'm planning yogurt and fruit for lunch then maybe a tofu Stir-fry for dinner.

Only snacked on cucumber and celery while I was making dinner and I didn't eat any of the kids leftovers or share their snacks!

Threeboysandadog · 03/01/2023 00:16

I had a really good day yesterday and a pretty awful day today. I woke with a headache and sore throat, tested -ve for Covid, had a cup a soup and toast for lunch instead of the carrot and cucumber sticks and hummus I had planned and picked at far too much of the kids Chinese Munchy box tonight instead of my chicken salad. Still I can eat todays meals tomorrow now! Going to bed soon.

Eghhh weighed this morning and I'm up 0.3kg on yesterday!

I wasn't great yesterday so it's not surprising and hopefully the annoyance will keep me on track today!!

Back to work so I'm hoping that helps get back into a good routine.

PeppermintChoc · 03/01/2023 06:49

Please can you tag me with your favourite soup ideas? I’m having soup at lunch to keep cals low for a family dinner.
So far I’ve made them and they’re all tomato based:-
pepper and tom
minestrone
tom, chickpea and chorizo.

Nightmare isn’t it, especially hard at this time of year. I have a 1 and a 3 year old. I try and get them out for walks so atleast I’m moving around. Take a pushchair and eldest scooter. I do YouTube home workouts with some dumbbells. Also found a PT who does online sessions at 7. In the summer I go out when my DH gets in, but that can be late 7/8pm and I can’t always be arsed. I try to work from home twice a week and use my lunch break to walk/run. But often use that time for other errands. Takes a lot of motivation!

2023istheyearigetmyacttogether · 03/01/2023 08:33

@Threeboysandadog we've all had the flu in our house and it's been miserable. I hope you feel better soon.
@HairsprayBabe it's so much easier to exercise now my children get older! When they were younger, I ended up looking at the class timetables of all of the gyms within a 20 minute drive. One council one did a 9pm body pump class and another one did a 6.30am one and, as they were council run gyms, both had a pay as you go option so I did that rather than being a member of a gym and being limited to what they offered.

I was really hungry when I woke up this morning when I often go until lunchtime without eating. I've just had scrambled eggs as thought it was better to have something now rather than raid the biscuit tin in an hour or so.

1lb down. I'm hoping a couple more will come off this week as I deflate post-Christmas

KathyBurke · 03/01/2023 08:35

Morning all, nice to read all the progress being made.

I've got the dentist at 9, shamefully haven't been for four years. Absolutely dreading it. I hate the dentist so much, I'm actually shaking.

JoyPeaceSleep · 03/01/2023 08:41

69.4 I'm delighted. The number is going down which is encouraging.
I lost the little notebook I was writing my weight in to, how Brigid Jones! So I want to write it here.

@KathyBurke I used to hate the dentist as well, trembled at the thought of it. But I have extreme sensitivity so I need 6 injections just to have a clean. Can't bear it otherwise. I hope it goes OK and you don't need any big work done.

wizzler · 03/01/2023 08:42

I've got today and tomorrow off work so planning a dog walk in the rain, and then household tasks to keep my mind occupied and my hands out of the biscuit barrel!

KathyBurke · 03/01/2023 08:57

@JoyPeaceSleep thanks, I'm in the waiting room shaking.

Hope all goes ok. Great start to the year to face this and get it out of the way!
1lb down I'm happy

Imgonnabeslim23 · 03/01/2023 09:40

10st 10.6 today. Day 3 and not lost any weight yet!

scaredysquiggle · 03/01/2023 09:45

Good luck @KathyBurke with the dentist.

Weight tracking apps. I'm using happy scale has anyone got a different recommendation?

Thanks
