I can't put it off much longer, I am getting very large and uncomfortable. My eating has become very out of control.

I need to shift around 4 stone, not sure exactly as I am to scared to get on the scales.

Anyone want to join me for a big new start and weigh in on Sunday 1st January?

OMG. 15.11lb. Biggest I've ever been. It's just been creeping up and up. I'm seriously overweight now.

Immediate aim to get to 15 stone.
longer term 12 stone
Goal 11 stone

Ive a long way to go. Today has not been great, family high tea. After the BH it will be easier. DH also needs to lose so is with me on this.

KathyBurke · 01/01/2023 21:07

@Bluevases That is a brilliant start. I'm very impressed ⭐️

scaredysquiggle · 01/01/2023 21:10

Ate chicken breast and some veg and had water today. Had to force it down as I have no appetite at all. Very little calorie burn as I'm too unwell. Wish Covid would bugger off.

KathyBurke · 01/01/2023 21:10

@Pennina There are lots of us who find ourselves the biggest weight ever, me included. It's good that you have your dh onboard.

NoNameIdeas · 01/01/2023 21:12

Weighed in this morning...definitely need to lose 3 stone! Hmm. Aiming for half a stone in January to kick start things x

KathyBurke · 01/01/2023 21:13

@scaredysquiggle so sorry to hear that you are feeling really unwell. I hope that you start to feel better soon 💐

Ninjajay · 01/01/2023 21:46

I weighed in at 11st 12lbs this morning! I want to get back to 10 1/2 stone but I'm aiming for 11st to start. I tend to like a Friday morning weigh in so will stick to that. I plan to use my fitness pal and cut out the crap, I will be allowing treats on a much less scale. I find cutting out completely leads to failure! I will be happy with 1lb a week, so will go for that.

Good luck everybody

Imgonnabeslim23 · 01/01/2023 22:47

11st 10 and want to be 10st 10. Good luck everyone

PennyPearl · 01/01/2023 23:01

Good news I don't need to lose as much as I thought! I was going off my pre pregnancy weight (had baby in October, c section) and I've been eating whatever I want as I knew I'd start in January but I weighed myself today and I've lost 8lbs from that weight anyway (wool!) feel a bit more motivated now

reallyhatewinter · 01/01/2023 23:32

I've just had my last glass of wine and ready to start tomorrow. Healthy eating, no drinking and need to attempt the gym once or twice . I'll be happy off I can achieve this for the first week. Once I'm in the game, I can start to improve more.

Minnie123456 · 01/01/2023 23:50

Can I join? Have been on weightloss threads before but have always given up hoping this time will be different.

Weighed myself this morning I'm currently 13stone 3lbs with a bmi of 32.8. Looking to loose a lb a week. Setting myself a target of loosing a stone by 9th April.

Bouledeneige · 01/01/2023 23:59

I'm in. I need to lose 4 stone but I will aim for something more achievable short term. I am doing dry January and will be doing intermittent fasting - 16/8.

HairsprayBabe · 02/01/2023 00:15

Hellooo, hope you don't mind me tagging on

I'm hopping on the bandwagon in the morning, I lost 6st 5 years ago and a MN thread was so supportive and helpful at the time so fingers crossed this one works for me too!

I've had 2 babies since then so I want to shift 2st ish to get me back at my fighting weight!

First weigh in tomorrow morning!

rumbypumby · 02/01/2023 01:19

Day one was a success.
Stayed within calories and have managed to keep busy all day.
Here's to tomorrow!

recklessgran · 02/01/2023 07:28

Morning. Yesterday was not perfect. On the plus side I stuck to 16:8 and my meal plan of egg salad and cottage pie and veg BUT my dinner was far too big with lots of mash on the cottage pie plus I had 3 squares of dark chocolate afterwards and an afternoon snack of cheese and nuts even though I planned to dump the snacking altogether. At least I didn't eat any bread.
Today it will be scrambled eggs and mushrooms for lunch and chicken casserole and lots of veg for dinner but I'm going to use a smaller plate for that today. I'm going to allow myself a mid afternoon snack of fruit and see how that goes. I'm not counting calories yet - I'll start that next week - just concentrating on dumping carbs [especially bread] and eating more healthily for this first week. Hope everyone else is doing O.K.

So to get back to a healthy weight is 4st4lbs Confused I don't see me managing 60lbs in a year but am going to give it a good go... going on holiday at end of March so will aim for first stone by Easter. Heading out to start couch to 5k and get some steps in and aim for minimum of 10k steps a day this month combined with 16:8

I lost over 40lbs in 9 months in 2021. I mostly kept it off and gradually put on a stone over 2022 (which I now need to lose and a little more to reach my goal weight). You might be surprised! 🙂

Twateralflow · 02/01/2023 08:40

Hi all I've been following the thread and would love to join. I need to lose about 3 stone. I'm 12st now (the heaviest I've been) and 5ft 8. I've always been a size 20 but now a 14 and none of my clothes fit. Im aiming to exercise 4 times a week. I run so will do that 2/3 times and weights at home 2 times. Im vegan but carbs are my downfall. Cauliflower rice is lovely with veg curry so will incorporate that. I have a job which includes lots of driving so need to ensure I get my 10 k steps in too. Good luck everyone

JoyPeaceSleep · 02/01/2023 08:41

I stepped on the scales after a wee Grin and I've lost 0.2 of a kilo since yesterday morning.
So delighted with the digital scales. You can see the progress. I'm going to throw out the old one. I used to stare at it uncertainly unsure if the needle was moving left or right.

dylgan · 02/01/2023 09:04

Morning all. I had a good day yesterday, just got to keep building on it. Really didn't want to do a short workout this morning, but forced myself and feel better for it. Off for a walk today so that should get my energy levels up and stop any snacking.

Eggsley · 02/01/2023 09:04

@JoyPeaceSleep haha same here. Was only going to weigh in on a Sunday but couldn't resist this morning. TMI but I've been quite, um, constipated over Christmas but yesterday was quite a successful day in that department. Down to 13st 0.8lbs from 13st 1.6lbs yesterday Blush

JoyPeaceSleep · 02/01/2023 09:30

Ha ha, I'm not so ladylike that i can't relate!

Imgonnabeslim23 · 02/01/2023 09:39

Morning, weighed in at 11 st 11.4 - put on a pound since yesterday ffs!
15lbs to lose. Looking forward to it!

Mumski45 · 02/01/2023 09:41

Morning all.

Yesterday was a good first day and I managed not too snack too much. However today has the potential to be tough as I am out for a meal tonight. About to go on my bike to burn a few calories and try to make some healthy choices.

Well done to all of you who have made a good start to the new year yesterday.

Tessie87 · 02/01/2023 09:44

Morning all! Room for one more? I weighed in this morning at the heaviest I’ve ever been and need to lose 4 stone over time to be healthy. Feels huge right now but going to focus on 7lbs at a time as the bigger picture feels a bit scary.
Back at work on Wednesday so planning to start properly then. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s tips and ideas!
