Thought I'd save you the hassle @poorpaws.

Well done for those who have lost and good luck to those struggling.

My focus at the moment is just to be wiser for food selection and to keep active. The slow moving scales can wait although I did check this morning and showing I'm nearly back to 14 and a half stone.

Rough week for me. Didn’t feel well so couldn’t swim and there was so much chocolate in the house, I ate it. I’ve been giving myself a good talking to this morning so it was funny to find we all seem to be doing that. I’ve regained that bloody kilo again.

Newyearnewarse · 16/04/2023 10:48

Good morning all

Is it ok if I jump in and join you all?

I am going to start today, have weighed myself which has shocked me into action. I am now feeling really uncomfortable physically which is depressing me.
I have a stressful job and always have an excuse for a 'fuck it' day .

My plan today is to meal plan for the week and get organised with some food to take into work to stop the eating rubbish because I am not prepared.

I am going to also charge up my fitbit and get my steps up and log onto mfp but other than that I have no real plans.

TalkToTheHand123 · 16/04/2023 11:09

Weight not gone down but feel slightly less wobbly.

Had some porridge this morning, first time in a long time, planning this for my morning start. Lots of soup and chicken to keep me going until 8pm finish time, then fish and veg for tea. Earlier bedtimes 🤞. That's the plan for the next few weeks roughly.

Welcome @Newyearnewarse , always nice for a newbie 😊

@Newyearnewarse welcome. Sounds like you have some good plans in place, now all you have to do is execute them.

We are all at different levels of fitness, fatness and follow various plans to lose weight so join us and do what you can without any judgement.

I've had a large glass of water and took a water bottle on the dog walk and drank all of it, small steps.

Newyearnewarse · 16/04/2023 14:04

Thank you both for the welcome.

I have had boiled eggs and soldiers for lunch and yoghurt and fruit for breakfast.
No snacks so far which is a miracle for me. Snacking is my issue (and booze)

@poorpaws executing it is exactly the problem. We all know what to do don't we ? It is just getting off the fat arse and doing it which is the issue 😁

Lemondrizzlegin · 16/04/2023 14:48

Room for another one? I am starting tomorrow. Been stopping and starting for the last month and have just kept gaining!

poorpaws · 16/04/2023 16:33

@Lemondrizzlegin we definitely have room for you. Welcome and I hope you enjoy being with us and do well. We all try hard and don't always succeed but we're a very friendly bunch.

Just over 14,000 steps and drunk quite a few glasses of water. Living out of the freezer atm as I've got a lot of food in there which has been there too long. I always eat better when I'm getting the freezer down. Looks like some sort of slow cooked beef in onions, carrots, sweetcorn and tiny potatoes. I've also defrosted mashed potato (didn't realise beef already contained potatoes) and I've just cut some extra carrots and broccoli. It all looks very nice so far 😁

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. It looks warmer outside than in. Have a good evening everyone.

LightandAiry · 16/04/2023 19:58

Hi everyone, we went to London today, Fitbit is reading 25,135 steps. We walked from Waterloo station, stopped for lunch outside Battersea Power Station, went on a bit further, crossed the bridge and walked back past house of parliament. Food wasn't great, had breakfast before we left, then toast while DH had breakfast in Slug & Lettuce, packed lunch and now just about to have oven chips & veggie sausages.

@poorpaws it was pretty cold I wore a jumper & fleece; I was glad if it earlier waiting for a train.
@Newyearnewarse I love boiled egg & soldiers! Yum.

RobertaTheRotund · 16/04/2023 21:05

Hello!

May I join you please?

I actually don't know what I weigh, but imagine it is somewhere in the region of 14 and a half stone, which is too heavy for me.

I haven't eaten well today. We are a bit of a plague house as DD isn't well today and I've been hitting the biscuits.

But I did get on my spin bike (lockdown purchase which predictably and swiftly became an overpriced clothes airer) today for 30 mins. I was really out of breath, so that's a good thing and I didn't die which is also a good thing.

I actually don't know what my plan is. I'm back to work (secondary school) tomorrow and I don't get a proper lunch break, so I need to sort out what I'm going to do to try and eat healthier during the day. ATM I'm having a small breakfast as I'm always running late, then eat bits and pieces until home time whereupon I eat the door off my fridge along with most of its contents 😂

Anyway, I need some help and support and came across this thread and thought it sounded like me. I'm not up for anything with the word bootcamp in the title! I wish I was, but I know from bitter experience that I can't maintain that level of intensity for long at all, so need some slow and steady accountability

poorpaws · 16/04/2023 21:24

Welcome @RobertaTheRotund pleased to see you here. Bootcamp will not be mentioned, I believe it is a really bad swear word in many places. I love your name, it made me smile, you'll fit in well here.

We are becoming a popular thread, it's lovely to have new members with new ideas.

I did so very well today until tonight when the chocolate monster raised its head. I'll try again tomorrow, I do well all day, I have to make a better plan for evenings.

RobertaTheRotund · 16/04/2023 21:55

Thanks poorpaws. The name is a shiny new one, so I am glad you approve Grin

RobertaTheRotund · 17/04/2023 06:43

Just hopped on the scales and will note it here so I don't forget!

14 st 11 and a quarter

Sounds very specific but I did it twice and that's what it said

poorpaws · 17/04/2023 07:48

A 1 lb gain for me this morning. I have to knuckle down to this now the weather is warmer, I have no excuse.

Food shopping this morning, I must make better choices and ditch the chocolate.

Good luck to the Monday weighers.

Zebracat · 17/04/2023 10:47

97.5 kilos. Not great. I really want a good week but still feel rough, so I’m going to be kind to myself and just try to eat good food and not too much of it. Not gaining would be a win this week.
Welcome to our new people. @RobertaTheRotund . I used to be shocking for eating the fridge. It works for me If I come in and start dinner immediately, especially If I have prepped it. Counsel of perfection of course. I should have made soup this morning but didn’t, so …

poorpaws · 17/04/2023 11:12

@Zebracat I've got the soup maker on right now 🤣😇

midnightblue12 · 17/04/2023 11:42

Hello all please can I join?
I'm starting a new diet and new approach today. I'm 5ft5, single mum (which I feel is relevant as I can't go to the gym or out for a run etc!)and I weighed 11stine 5 today 😭 I want to loose a stone. I feel loosing a stone would be a sustainable weight whilst my little ones are young and I have limited time to myself.
I've followed CC and SW before but im so stressed with tracking and counting. Today im just writing down what I've eaten and making healthier choices. I really hope it works. I just feel like I've been so stressed by diets recently and it's having an adverse effect!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/04/2023 12:21

Welcome @midnightblue12 , I saw your other thread. It’s tough when you have no time without the dc, much as we love them. Are they pushchair age, so that you can strap them in and go for a walk? I agree also with how you feel that tracking, calculating etc just gets a bit overwhelming - it definitely skews me sometimes and I seem to forget how to just eat normal healthy food.

I do always have a calorie goal/target/limit, but i also try to have some ‘healthy habit’ goals as well, such as eating 50 veg a week or drinking 3l water. It helps me to have a few little wins even when actual pounds lost isn’t going to plan. I’m also really focussing on my self care at the moment too- doing my nails, using my skincare (in a very basic skincare routine) and keeping my hair straightened so I look at least presentable rather than a scruffy curly mess.

PinkArt · 17/04/2023 16:41

Welcome new folks! This is indeed a lovely, supportive group. Everyone is on a different path, but we're all trying to meander in the same direction. That we have different approaches and different degrees of success at times is what makes it feel like a safe space for me. It keeps me accountable, reporting my weight here weekly, but knowing that there is no judgement if it's been a fuck it week (or three) removes a lot of anxiety around that.

poorpaws · 17/04/2023 18:19

Welcome @midnightblue12 I hope you enjoy your time with us. You don't have a vast amount to lose but it does take longer and is harder work imo than at the beginning of a large weight loss path.

Is it possible for you to do an exercise dvd or one of the many YouTube exercises when the kids are in bed? I appreciate you're probably shattered by evening but it does help.

NSV today. I met an acquaintance I haven't seen for a long time and she said she could see I had lost a fair amount of weight. I admitted I hadn't really lost very much, but she would have none of it and said I'm definitely slimmer. I think my exercises are pulling the weight in a bit (?) anyway I'll take it whatever the reason.

I hope everyone is ok and still working on moving the fat.

TalkToTheHand123 · 17/04/2023 18:29

I'm going to the shop tonight to stock up on chicken, fish, veg and porridge. Seems to be keeping me full enough. Hopefully not pick up too many treats. Going to do some batch cooking with it too. An early night wouldn't go a miss as the late nights seem to be creeping up again.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 17/04/2023 18:31

@TalkToTheHand123 that sounds like a very good plan, 🤞 all goes well.

effiesgoldwig · 17/04/2023 18:35

Well I weighed today and the 3lbs I put on had come off again so I've not a clue what's going on but I'm not complaining. Well done on your losses, welcome to all the new folks.

Gottoloveatakeaway · 17/04/2023 18:35

Welcome @midnightblue12 new week new start for me and a few others.

Off to a good start I batch cooked yesterday, so have healthy food for the week. Back on yoghurt and fruit for breakfast and just back from a walk. If I keep this up should have a loss this week.

Newyearnewarse · 17/04/2023 19:14

Hi all

A good day here so far, I am trying really hard not to be too full on with it all as this will make me give up after a week.

@poorpaws Would you recommend your soup maker? I have looked at these in the past but worry they will just join the ice cream maker and george foreman in the back of the cupboard.

I need to think of ideas for lunch otherwise I will end up having soup or tuna salad every day and get bored.
