A stone by Christmas. Anyone want to join me?

I have a lot more to lose but small goals appeal. It would be nice to feel a little better about how I look at Christmas outings

I think low carb appeals to me as carbs make me feel bloated anyway.

I am a terrible snacker and often have large bags crisps, sweets and chocolate at the weekends. That will be my biggest challenge (and stealing the kids snacks!)

It would be nice to have people to check in with.

That's really interesting about the oat milk.

Good day for me yesterday. No evening snacking which is my downfall. Have a mushroom mountain in the fields at the moment so am batch cooking mushroom dishes till the cows come home.

Todays plan:
B Avocado on toast
L leftover mushroom stroganoff and small noodle portion
T mushroom and spinach lasagne.

Also running club tonight where we normally do 4-6 miles.

Have a good day all

@polkadotpixie its just a blip in the road - try not to be too down.

Well the soup was inedible so I had no lunch yesterday!

Breakfast is porridge with wheat bran, and berries

Lunch is tuna wrap

Tea is unknown as DH wants to surprise me!

Ontheedge2 · 22/11/2022 13:03

Sorry to hear about the soup @beenrumbled - there's always a learning curve with these things!

I had a bit of a blip over the weekend with a cinema visit and the inevitable popcorn😬

Back on it as of yesterday and I put my Monday scale check back until Friday - it never helps me to see the water weight impact!

Good luck all, its a new week

flowerycurtain · 22/11/2022 13:29

@beenrumbled nothing more annoying than an indelible recipe. I spent all afternoon one day recently batch cooking 4 family sized portions of the worst tasting tomato sauce ever

polkadotpixie · 22/11/2022 14:26

Sooo my daily food check in for yesterday:

Breakfast: None
Lunch: CousCous/Cucumber/Sweetcorn/Cottage Cheese/Quorn Chicken
Dinner: Veggie Chilli/Roast Potatoes (don't ask, the rice went wrong!)/Guacamole but I resisted the cheese!

Snacks: 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies & a teaspoon of Biscoff spread

Smugsmaug · 22/11/2022 14:26

Tried a cake-in-a-mug recipe, using protein powder! Topped with kefir, crushed walnuts and cinnamon. Stodgy, but oddly satisfying!

mellongoose · 22/11/2022 22:47

Did better today.

Breakfast: egg on brown toast
Lunch: toasted tea cake
Dinner: veg soup with riveta and a bit of cheese.
Snack: banana

All consumed between 11am and 7pm.

polkadotpixie · 23/11/2022 05:13

Yesterday's food:

Breakfast: Granola/Mixed Berries/Yogurt
Lunch: Couscous/Cucumber/Cottage Cheese/Sweetcorn/Quorn Chicken
Dinner: Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni ready meal (lazy but surprisingly low calorie)
Snacks: 1 slice Quorn ham & a mini chocolate bar

Not too bad today!

flowerycurtain · 23/11/2022 09:31

Some of your menu's sound delicious! I did ok yesterday, ended up eating some cheese and peanuts after my run but nothing too dramatic.
Today is
B - Avocado on toast
L - leftover mushroom lasagne
T - some sort of freezer surprise soup

HAve a good day all

Smugsmaug · 23/11/2022 10:17

All sounds delicious!

Down 0.8 pounds in less than a week, so it’s going in the right direction.

TMI but breath smells fruity/strange, think I may finally be in ketosis, cutting out the oat milk seems to be working. Best sleep in a long time last night, woke up feeling calm and energised (usually wake up exhausted frazzled and stressed).

Have great days everyone!

flowerycurtain · 24/11/2022 12:27

Hola. Good day for me yesterday despite both kids having a tummy bug. Bright side to the 8 loads of washing is if I get it there'll be a boost to the pre Xmas weight loss!!!

Ontheedge2 · 24/11/2022 17:05

Hope they're feeling better soon @flowerycurtain!

I went to an exercise class for the first time in a while. I'm already aching so dreading tomorrow!

Eating-wise, I'm averaging about 1,200 calories a day which seems okay. Need to cut down on the amount of sugar though!

Good luck everyone!

Smugsmaug · 24/11/2022 20:26

Well done on the exercise class!

When the drive is flagging a bit, what helps re-motivate? I’ve read some of the success stories on the fast 800 website, remind myself why I’m doing this, watched the docs on channel 4. Would love to hear any other recommendations!

flowerycurtain · 25/11/2022 06:29

@Smugsmaug I've got a size 10 skirt I really want to fit into. I leave it hanging on the front of my wardrobe so it reminds me all the time

beenrumbled · 25/11/2022 07:10

@flowerycurtain I hope they are batter today!

I've been ok food wise this week, but I have lunch out with DH tomorrow and then Sunday tea at DMIL the next day, so on balance I may not lose much this week.

I've been averaging 10,000 steps a day, but some of that is marching on the spot at home to get the count up!

beenrumbled · 25/11/2022 07:12

@Smugsmaug I have a photo of me from a recent wedding I went to on my phone - it's what prompted this months decision to focus on weight loss.

I look at it when I'm wavering!

Smugsmaug · 25/11/2022 08:06

Great suggestions thank you! I’m going to dig out an old photo and put it as my phone wallpaper. And dress that I’d love to wear again!

Have good healthy days everyone!

beenrumbled · 28/11/2022 06:36

How has the weekend been for everyone?

Mine was full of bad choices as I knew it would be, rounded off by a full Sunday Roast and then chocolate cake for afters - washed down by 3 large glasses of white wine.

I was going to avoid the scales this morning, but made myself weigh in.

Another 2lbs down! 10st 2oz now.

Kicking myself though that if I had stuck to being sensible I would have lost more.

But I'm giving my head a shake as that's the start of the slippery slope to self destruction again. So I'll say it now - 2lbs lost, good news!!

Smugsmaug · 28/11/2022 08:26

Well done beenrumbled! That’s excellent! And quite right, celebrate that win! It’s ok to mindfully enjoy the occasional treats - being healthy most of the time is the main thing!
I’ll fess up, a big pizza on Friday, on top of my normal meals and snacks, and I’d had a relaxed eating day anyway 🫢. Wasn’t hungry or craving it, more to join in socially. Weighed myself on Sunday, down by 0.4 pounds - think the pizza undid the good work during the week! My weight seems to be coming off slowing on the scales, however, yesterday managed to fit into a couple of items I haven’t gotten into for ages, plus maybe it’s muscle weight gain as I’ve been more active than I have been in quite a while. Excited about another healthy week, as one of the biggest thing for me is getting my energy back and managing other conditions, and I can feel a difference since reducing processed foods.
Good luck everyone!

polkadotpixie · 28/11/2022 11:46

Weighed in this morning - 2lbs lost 😊

Starting Weight : 10st 8lbs
Last Week: 10st 7lbs
Today: 10st 5 lbs

Total Loss: 3lbs

flowerycurtain · 28/11/2022 14:44

Wow, some of you are doing amazing. I've managed to put on 2lb over one weekend!!! aaarh!! I'm going in the wrong direction!!

Ontheedge2 · 30/11/2022 12:57

Not a great weekend for me either with a family event and a lot of eating off plan.

I'm also starving this week but no idea why. I'm managing to keep it under control ish but can't imagine I'll be losing any this week either 😓

On a more positive note, I've kept up with the exercise classes and I'm doing two a week now and I'm actually enjoying them!

Good luck everyone

sprinkleparty · 05/12/2022 07:56

Morning, how has everyone done with today’s weigh-in? I’m 2.1kg (4.6 lbs) down from when we first started, which isn’t on track for a stone by Christmas :( Anyone feeling up to sharing encouragement?

Smugsmaug · 05/12/2022 09:08

Well done on the loss sprinkleparty! Especially sticking to it at this time of year, that’s impressive in itself. The scales can be deceiving, they can easily fluctuate with water weight etc. Mine have moved ever so slowly too, so im reminding myself to gauge improvement by looking at what I can now fit into, having more energy, getting healthier on the inside etc. A recent bout of covid wiped me out, and I have a suspicion that may be behind the slow but steady loss for me - but it’s all going in the right direction. I’m thinking of stepping it up a notch for the last three weeks…

sprinkleparty · 05/12/2022 10:57

Thanks @Smugsmaug! Good going you too, especially in the face of covid. Three weeks is enough time to make a difference and feel even better 💪 Go us!
