I have a lot more to lose but small goals appeal. It would be nice to feel a little better about how I look at Christmas outings

I think low carb appeals to me as carbs make me feel bloated anyway.

I am a terrible snacker and often have large bags crisps, sweets and chocolate at the weekends. That will be my biggest challenge (and stealing the kids snacks!)

It would be nice to have people to check in with.

The universe is telling me now is the time - I decided to have one last splurge before starting on Monday. Went to eat a Mars triple treat bar - it was disgusting. Who on earth decided to ruin a perfectly good bars bar!

In an attempt to get ahead I've prepped some meals for next week - chicken and veg pie (topped with sweet potato), Shepherds pie and a curry. All served with lots of veg.

I'm not going for 'diet' type meals as that doesn't work for me - just aiming to not eat between meals and have sensible portion sizes.
I did this earlier in the year and lost 2 stone which probably tells you how much I overeat in terms of crisps/biscuits/chocolate

What are other people doing? Calorie counting? Or something else.

Higher protein, low carb meals and no snacking is my plan. I’m also going to try and move more.

My plan is to go for a walk every day, even when it's raining. Also going to stop stuffing my face with copious amounts of chocolate.

Had a great night at the gig with Mexican food and loads of drinks and hotel breakfast this morning so actually feeling ready to be more healthy and try to shift this weight!
Have 2.5 stone to lose at least - one gone by Christmas would make my clothes more comfortable - going to weigh in tomorrow and go from there.

hopefully all of us supporting each other will give us all the push we need 😊

Would love to lose 20 pounds by end of December. I’m hearing a lot about fast keto being the way to go. When I was a lot healthier I’d fast for most of the day, and then have a large wholesome evening meal and dessert. But with the weather, being poorly, other stuff, it’s easy to slip into comfort eating! Any tips welcome!

Me please. I need to lose a stone before we start fertility treatment. I doubt my weight is helping in that department either but I'm so down and depressed about the whole thing that I just think fuck it and and eat more crap to make myself feel better

I don't even know where to start so any suggestions welcome. I can't really commit to Slimming World or Weightwatchers meetings because of varied work patterns but I'm open any other plans

Are we all starting tomorrow? My main issues are definitely snacking when bored, not enough water and far to mich wine.

So, no more booze Sunday to Thursday, starting tonight.

Sort out some crochet projects so I am to busy to nibble.

Walk 12000 steps per day.

Lower carb through the week, lots of water and no more than 1500 cals a day

Basically, get back into some good habits and stop the excuses really!!!

Looks like lots of us!

I think I need new scales. They seem to give a different reading even if moved a tiny bit in the bathroom.

I've started getting healthier past week or so and haven't had any booze in a week now.

I'm aiming for low carbs and around 1300 calories a day. I'm using myfitnesspal at moment but hoping I'll get the hang of judging how much to eat.

Impressed with the food prep @GenialHarryGr0ut.

@BlimeyOhReilley I like the losing a small person target!

@Glenthebattleostrich did you do that in a day? Impressive!

@polkadotpixie I think lots of different diets can work, when people are motivated. I have read often that risk calories is what matters most.

My mother in law did brilliantly on slimming world. She loved trying new recipes.

I tend to have little time for food prep so need something easy. I've gone low carb as bread/pasta makes me feel bloated.

I'm not good with sweetners so avoid diet yogurts etc.

I've been drinking lots of decaf tea and coffee with almond milk. Has really helped reduce snacking.

I started it yesterday but only did about 4 rows, mostly todays effort! It has kept me out of the kitchen so definitely helping!!

Lovely to see so many of us going for it!

I'm quite pleased, I've had a good day today and yesterday.

Will be brave and try the scales in the morning, though I caught my granddaughter jumping on them yesterday so christ knows what they'll say Grin

Right! I’m in too! I booked a holiday yesterday for next Easter and I really want to enjoy it properly. A stone before Christmas, then another 1 1/2 before hols.

I read what the other mumsnetter has said - about it’s your own choice and realising the only person who can make a difference is yourself. It’s my choice.

The cold weather has made me eat none stop for the last two weeks. Coupled with Halloween chocolate I need to eat more healthy food.
