A stone by Christmas. Anyone want to join me?

I have a lot more to lose but small goals appeal. It would be nice to feel a little better about how I look at Christmas outings

I think low carb appeals to me as carbs make me feel bloated anyway.

I am a terrible snacker and often have large bags crisps, sweets and chocolate at the weekends. That will be my biggest challenge (and stealing the kids snacks!)

It would be nice to have people to check in with.

Can I join please? I lost two stone earlier this year, but at least a third has crept back on. I’m going to try eating healthier and stopping snacking and upping. My steps. Hope it works! 🤞

Shakey2022 · 06/11/2022 21:22

I’m going to join. I joined a thread earlier this year but then life took over.

I started today. I stuck to 3 meals and no snacks apart from an apple. I wanted chocolate this evening but have refrained.

I will brush my teeth and have an early night I think!

I will be weighing myself in the morning.

Me too, yikes.

Glenthebattleostrich · 07/11/2022 06:33

Morning everyone.

Weight this morning is 14 st 4.4lb. My aim this week is to get the good habits going.

2l of water per day.
1500 cals, lower carb
Make good food choices
Finish my lap blanket and start an advent calendar for my baby great nephew.

Have a great day everyone!

beenrumbled · 07/11/2022 06:42

Can I join?

I struggle with self control round portion size and snacks, and probably have been drinking far too much alcohol.

I plan to reduce processed carbs, cut right back on alcohol and stop snacking.

Will also try to move to an 18:6 eating pattern over the next week.

Exercise wise I'm going to struggle, at least initially, as I have hurt my back and I'm just getting over a really bad throat infection. But I am going to walk to and from work which will be a couple of miles a day.

Weigh in this morning - 10st 8 and 6 oz. I'm a short arse so that is worse than it sounds.

herecomesthsun · 07/11/2022 06:59

lovely, I'll join too (need to get a new battery in the weighing scales)

Beanbunnalapoo · 07/11/2022 07:10

I'll join too please, I've got 2 stone to loose, one by Christmas would be good!

Smugsmaug · 07/11/2022 08:52

Weak coffee with cacoa powder (it’s meant to be nutritious) to get me through the day. Then aiming for a healthy main meal later.

Good luck everyone! We’ve got this!

EnglishRose1320 · 07/11/2022 09:01

Right after a bad weekend snacking wise, I'm already to join in. What seems to work for me, is cutting down the amount of hours I eat in and having 1 set snack a day alongside meals, rather than just grazing all day. I don't find I can remove all snacks but I can cope quite well with deciding on 1 set snack and sticking to that.

MushroomQueen · 07/11/2022 09:41

Yes, I'm in. I lost weight a few years ago with a programme called Rude. It's diet and exercise based. It runs month to month. Basically swap your white carbs for brown and smaller portions, load up on greens and veggies and eat fish and chicken - they had lots of recipes and 30 minute work outs daily. Snacks were a piece of fruit, handful of nuts or natural yoghurt with berries. I'm vegetarian and they had options for me. I liked the rigidness of it only eating the approved things for a month. No processed food, junk food alcohol and smaller portions - weight came off easily and with the exercise I gained stamina- for me I have to be all in or not- I have no will power if I give in a bit

Obia · 07/11/2022 09:42

Morning, I have just weighed my self and I am 11st 7 3/4lbs.

Terrible!

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 07/11/2022 09:43

Yes please! I have around 4st to lose but I need to break it down because that feels like an impossible task.

I've weighed myself this morning and it made me want to cry!!

MamOfTeens · 07/11/2022 09:44

Oh @Glenthebattleostrich that is gorgeous 😍 so talented :)

right we can do this (telling myself 😀) i have felt rotten all night with a dodgy tummy- definitely as a result of too much Mexican food cervezas and margaritas! So clean week this week is the plan.

weather is rotten so was already talking myself out of my planned lunchtime walk but I’m stating here publicly that I’m going! Someone ask me later if I went to shame me 😁

Yel · 07/11/2022 13:29

I'm in! Just weighed myself expecting a bit extra weight but I'm 11stone 13.. nearly 2 stone over last year. Going to follow a food plan I had with a previous PT and stick to 16:8 also.

Cinnamonandcoal · 07/11/2022 13:33

I'll join you.
13st at the moment. 12st for Christmas would be great. I'm going to log calories and do at least some exercise.

Smugsmaug · 07/11/2022 15:22

Haven’t had the healthiest food, but will make that my one and only main meal of the day, so still on track calorie wise. If I get peckish later, I’ll have a sugar free hot choc. I think I may incorporate some of the rigidness as outlined by mushroomqueen from tomorrow. Will aim to remove all processed carbs rather than try and juggle them. When I have to make a quick decision on the spot I find it too easy to deviate! Managed a brief walk, first time in ages after being sick.

Thinking of investing in Tim Spector’s food for life book as extra motivation and tips…

Badger1970 · 05/11/2022 11:50

I'll join! Lost 4 stone so far but am really struggling to shift the other 4 that I need to lose ........Blush So today I'm accountable again, and I'm back to 16/8 method which is how I've lost most of my weight so far.

A stone by Christmas would really help my mood I think ... life seems hard right now and comfort eating isn't easing anything especially my waistband Hmm

Hi well done on amazing loss
What 16:8 have you been doing?

Curiousforever · 07/11/2022 16:49

I am 88.3 kilos this morning need to get to 81 kgs by Christmas (sorry can’t seem to get stones and pounds)
had a salad for lunch with greek yogurt with raspberries for dessert
very proud of myself today as avoided all temptation at tye supermarket just now (digestives are my cryptonite)
so looking forward to all of us getting a stone lighter

GenialHarryGr0ut · 07/11/2022 19:18

Weighing in at 12 stone 11- just checked the app where I track my weight and the good news is this time last year I was a stone heavier.

So fat today I have only eaten meals with no snacking.

Toast
Chickpea and tuna salad
Apple
Yoghurt
Chicken, veg and sweet potato

Cornishbelle · 07/11/2022 19:24

I'm in too! A stone by Christmas sounds great and hope to carry on in 2023 another three to go after that aiming lower carb and trying some intermittent fasting to cut down eating window

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 07/11/2022 21:12

I'm going to a fitness class with a friend tomorrow called Punch and Lift.. I'm so unfit, it might actually kill me!

Badger1970 · 07/11/2022 21:20

@fleurdelee I just try and eat within the 8 hours, it works so well for me as it's very black and white. I stick to 3 meals, don't calorie count but don't snack at all as once I start, it's hard to stop. I had toast for breakfast (seed bread/peanut butter), soup and cheese/crackers/apple for lunch and a Quorn beef strip stir fry for tea. I did try the Fast 800 diet but was absolutely starving on it and my blood sugar kept dropping - T2 diabetic.

ihatesoaps · 07/11/2022 21:21

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️

LaughingBallz · 07/11/2022 21:36

Yes please! I have 2.5 - 3 stone to lose. Going to cut out alcohol and have just started a vegan diet, so hopefully I will be eating less processed food!
Today I weighed 10 stone 10 lbs and I'm 5 foot 1, which I think puts me as obese.
I already walk every day with the dogs so going to walk just a little further each day (and try to get back into the habit of two walks a day) and will start back at my gym classes - spinning and strength classes.
Good luck everyone!

LaughingBallz · 07/11/2022 21:36

Oh, I'm also going to try and have an 8 hour eating window like others here!
