It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

Thank you all. hopefully a good sleep will help! 😀

illiterato · 09/12/2022 08:30

get well soon @Sodullincomparison.

@Stravaig that salad looks utterly delish. I love coriander. Used to live in Asia and there would be stalls with huge bunches of it and I'd always have this strange urge to roll in it. I imagine it's how cats must feel about catnip!!

Going ok this week but it's been a bit chaotic and I need a reminder that having a Baileys for dinner may be calorifically acceptable but is certainly not nutritionally.

Jenasaurus · 10/12/2022 20:33

Hi all

Just checking in

Breakfast - porridge with frozen cherries
Lunch - Sheppards Pie, sprouts and runner beans
Dinner - 3 glasses of red wine! (yes i know)

I now fit size 12 , was size 24 in July 22, :)

Sodullincomparison · 10/12/2022 20:50

Well done @Jenasaurus thats impressive!

@illiterato i used to live in Asia too- and was so skinny. The only chocolate was Kit Kats and I’m not so fussed on them. 😂
Turns out if there’s only healthy food, I am a natural size 10!!

@Stravaig what was today’s feast?

@AnnieHoooo hope your weekend is going well.

I had eggs for breakfast, Turkey and roast potatoes and sprouts for lunch and chicken wrap for dinner.

I also had a festive cupcake.

myself and DD are all recovered and DH in on the sofa coughing watching football feeling miserable.

Christmas night out on Thursday with three course meal. Think I will drive rather than have a drink.

Also DH and FIL birthday this week so there might be a lot of cake!

it will be a soup week here I think and sneak lots of extra veg in there for us all.

lots of snow here and the roads in and out of the village blocked by vehicles that couldn’t make it in and out. I had a few diversions this morning to get back home. Hopefully they will be cleared tomorrow.

Stravaig · 10/12/2022 21:28

Wowowow @Jenasaurus that's incredibly fast!!

@illiterato I spent my formative food years in the tropics, so that sounds like heaven to me 😍

@Sodullincomparison Lovely wholesome food! Glad you're all recovered x

First thing: blue tea, green tea, dark chocolate
Meal 1: black bean salsa with egg
Meal 2: bolognese with a panful of cavolo nero
Plus dark chocolate chip shortbread and some pistachios
Same as yesterday :)

Sodullincomparison · 10/12/2022 22:16

What’s blue tea?

I’m off to look it up.

I’m on fresh lemon juice at the moment.

Stravaig · 10/12/2022 22:43

@Sodullincomparison The teas are loose-leaf oolong 'blue' tea and jasmine green tea pearls.

Sodullincomparison · 10/12/2022 22:55

I looked it up and it’s very pretty and says it’s good for sugar levels- always a winner.
does it taste nice?

Stravaig · 10/12/2022 23:01

@Sodullincomparison Can't really comment on the taste, given the way I prepare it 🤣

From upthread: 'It says 'blue tea' on the tin, but I think it might be Oolong? I should add that no genuine tea drinker would have any truck with what I call tea. It's loose leaf, and instead of a teaspoon dose, I use a few strands, and let them briefly dangle their tippy toes in the water. Arabic coffee is my drink, but I've given up, so instead I have this hot water with a tinge of colour and flavour.'

Stravaig · 11/12/2022 07:25

❄️ 'Morning! First breakfast hot chocolate of the winter.

December theme: If only I'd started losing weight earlier, I could be wearing my cosy woollens and flannels right now. 🥶

illiterato · 11/12/2022 07:54

@Stravaig the kids insisted yesterday that we buy the Christmas squirty cream and marshmallows. Don’t normally have it as they are disgusting animals and just squirt it straight into their mouths and leave the empty can in the fridge. Last night I contemplating putting some on my Baileys but then decided it would be excessive. Food this week has not been terrible but the Christmas treats are definitely sneaking in and I’ve done no exercise as dd off sick. Did try my ski trousers in yesterday and they do fit so that’s a relief as was my motivation for joining this thread to start with. Now I’m just stressing about the strikes and being in an immigration queue for 12 hours

Stravaig · 11/12/2022 11:40

@illiterato Well done 🥳 Exciting! 🎿🚡⛷️ Fingers crossed for smooth travel.

Sodullincomparison · 11/12/2022 15:06

Yay for the ski trousers!!! That’s exciting. Well done!

Tomato Soup and Chocolate Florentines for lunch. One step forward and one step back… 😂😂😂

We have no snacks in the house except fruit and that’s making a big difference for us all. DD4 is demolishing her meals rather than grazing.

Sodullincomparison · 11/12/2022 15:07

@illiterato I have already received three bottles of Baileys for Christmas - nobody on my team is showing any interest but the wine has happily gone on to different people.

maybe all my neighbours will get a bottle this year.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 11/12/2022 15:29

I’ve not been on this thread for ages and was doing fairly well not snacking hugely (well a bit). I did have mashed potato with a few meals as I had a root canal and other dental work where the dentist told me to eat softer food.

Then I got covid a week ago, negative now and for some strange reason Pringles, crunchie bars etc seemed to help the recovery, as well as food like stir frys, quiche, fish cakes with vegetables, soups, fruit. I’ve tried to have soup with no toast the past few days but have been having toast in mornings.

Now need to diet.

AnnieHoooo · 11/12/2022 18:36

Oh @illiterato what a fabulous achievement! Ski trousers are so bloody unforgiving!!!

AnnieHoooo · 11/12/2022 18:37

@GonnaGetGoingReturns never a better time to get started! Let's do an under the radar effort over the holidays and emerge slimmer in 2023.

I have been trying to eat less lately… sadly Sainsburys Chop Chop kindly delivered all the bad stuff!

I’ve definitely had no toast with soups for the past few days.

Sodullincomparison · 11/12/2022 22:35

I honestly have no clue what tomorrow’s weigh in will bring. Normally I can gauge it but no idea.

illiterato · 12/12/2022 06:51

Kicking off this week’s weigh in: last one before Christmas for me as I’m away next week. Boxing Day’s gonna be a shocker!

67.9kg so 600g lost. I’ll take that given my forays into the Bailey’s and Quality Street.

starting weight: 73.5kg
current weight: 67.9kg
target weight: 66kg

Stravaig · 12/12/2022 07:36

0.8 kg down for me.
🥶 -6°/feels like -10°🥶

whyhere · 12/12/2022 07:37

Down half a pound for me, so now back at my official goal weight. Waist stayed the same at 31.5". Does anyone else use their waist measurement as a guide to how they're doing?

Runnerduck34 · 12/12/2022 10:01

Monday morning weigh in.
76.7kg
So 0.5kg loss this week, which I'm very happy with as I've had 2 Xmas meals and a takeaway this week! I was dreading weigh in.
So my window of eating extended most days this week but i am trying to limit what eat the rest of the time and choosing slightly healthier Xmas meal/ takeaway options.
Anyway I'm so glad for this thread keeping me on track, even though I'm not as conscientious some of you.
I hope we continue it as its nearly full and nearly Xmas and I need this thread!
Well done @illiterato @stravaig and @whyhere
Good luck this week everyone.

Sodullincomparison · 12/12/2022 18:15

bravo everyone!!! So great work.

starting weight. 15st 11lb
this week is 15st 6 and bloated!!

argh!! The only week which was good was my juicing week. Maybe I need to do that to make some loss and then maintain afterwards.

LadyRue · 12/12/2022 21:20

Hi everyone,

please can I join? I was 13st 4 this morning, I’m 5ft 4 and desperately want to get down to 10 stone for my birthday in May.

My weigh day will be Thursday as I use the scales at work :)
