Fresh thread for a fresh start! It's me, Hard Baked Owl if anyone remembers me from our previous threads

Anyway, I've been off in the wilderness for the past month. I don't know why I have done this but I want to stop the rot before I put the weight back on

I've lost 2 stone since April and by some miracle, I'm still at a 2 stone loss. Despite eating magnums and crisps daily

So tomorrow I'm back to it. Back in the circle where I felt good and I'd like to lose one stone between now and the 19th November

This feels ambitious. Yet it's something to aim for isn't it?

Anyone fancy joining in or hopping back in the circle with me?

I’d like to start again, I’m 5 pounds up on my lowest weight. Just had surgery and been very sedentary and eating crap.
I want to lose 10 pounds to take me to 123 pounds.

ChocChipOwl · 22/09/2022 20:44

@Gensola welcome back into the circle ⭕️ 😀

We know how well LP works. It's time to get to work again

ChocChipOwl · 22/09/2022 20:44

@Gensola oh and I hope your recovery is going well. 5 lbs is absolutely nothing if you stop the rot now.

Hello! I'm going great guns on Fast800 but miss you all, so will read along if that's ok?

ChocChipOwl · 22/09/2022 20:47

Oh yes @strawberrybarn - you deserted us. That's right 😏😉😉

Yes feel free to post again. More the merrier and Fast 800 has some similarities with LP

ChocChipOwl · 22/09/2022 20:47

How have you been getting on with F800? Refresh my memory

strawberrybarn · 22/09/2022 20:51

Haha! I can't remember where I was up to when I deflected, but I am now under 100kg. I have a long way still to go, but loving it. Currently doing OMAD + drinking shedloads of water.

strawberrybarn · 22/09/2022 20:52

PS glad you are back on board, always love your posts and photos!

ChocChipOwl · 22/09/2022 20:57

Oh that's brilliant! You've done so well @strawberrybarn - it's clearly working well for you

I'm cross that I fell out of the circle so spectacularly but I'm ready to go again now with all your support

I’d love to join. I’m just back from a two week all inclusive holiday, which was wonderful but has done some serious weight damage. I’m getting married in the summer and really need to get in shape.

ChocChipOwl · 23/09/2022 10:40

Breakfast! Let's hope it's not all downhill from now on for the day 😀

Porridge, flaxseed, Greek yogurt, walnuts, cranberries, protein powder and a drizzle of peanut butter

Welcome @TheUndoing - what would you like to lose?

OP posts:
Gensola · 23/09/2022 10:43

I can’t start right away as I had throat surgery to remove a lump in my throat plus my tonsils (cancer scare) waiting for biopsy results but at the moment all I can eat are very bland and soft carbs, ice lollies and ice cream. Fruit is too acidic and fibrous foods hurt too much. I’m already healed a lot since surgery, hoping by next week I’ll be able to eat what I want again. I’m trying to compensate by not eating too much and watching portion control.

TheUndoing · 23/09/2022 12:42

Really sorry to hear that Gensola, I hope you get good news from the biopsy.

I’d like to lose about a stone, ideally.

MaisietheMoth · 24/09/2022 08:29

Hello, can I join? I did a 6 week stint at the start of the summer, and noticed great improvements in my health. I've danced spectacularly out of the circle in the last few weeks and would love to get back on track 💃

Hope your recovery is going well @Gensola ✨️

SilverLiningPlaybook · 24/09/2022 08:33

Couid someone summarise the key principles please?

littleburn · 24/09/2022 08:51

Could I join you too? The original thread made me go out and buy Lean for Life Method and I did really well on it. Still keeping to the general principles now, but need to get back to the portion sizes in the book.

I don't weigh myself (as I get a bit obsessive with it) so go by how I look/feel and the fit of my clothes. I have an event in 4 weeks that my shitty ex is at, so want to be going to that feeling on top form!

ChocChipOwl · 25/09/2022 09:39

Morning all - and yes, come and join us

OK, so I had a mild blip since starting the thread (I say mild, I probably mean severe Grin) but today is another day!

I've started with an on plan breakfast of ..

Greek yogurt
Pomegranate seeds
Teaspoon peanut butter
Pumpkin seeds
Sliced banana

And I WILL succeed today!

ChocChipOwl · 25/09/2022 09:44

@SilverLiningPlaybook it's always best to grab one of the books - always cheap on Vinted! - as that explains more in depth

But it's really quite simple. 3 meals a day (delicate portions - as Louise says!) and 2 snacks. It's not a specific low carb plan but carbs are naturally reduced as there is no rice, pasta or potatoes on plan. You may find the very odd mention but it's unusual

No honey, dates, sugar - the usual suspects. No calorie counting.

A typical day for me might be like this (bear in mind I'm 'kinda' vegan - just can't kick my Greek yogurt and cheese habit!)

Greek yogurt/ porridge/fruit and seeds

Apple and peanut butter

Wholemeal roll with plant kitchen bacon and salad

Cherries and a small piece of cheese

Quinoa / salads/ roasted veg and feta / tricolour salad / stir fry etc

I have lost 2 stone since the beginning of April before faltering but it really is so so straightforward and it really works.

ChocChipOwl · 25/09/2022 09:45

@MaisietheMoth yep I hear ya. It's hard getting yourself back on track isn't it? I'm trying very hard now though - I feel so so much better when I'm following the plan

OP posts:
ChocChipOwl · 25/09/2022 09:45

Hi @littleburn of course you can join us. Welcome x

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 25/09/2022 09:52

Hi @ChocChipOwl

I was on both the previous threads and did really well until the new term started (I'm a teacher) and I ate my feelings of stress and tiredness,

However I'm ready now to get back in the circle 💪

I remember how the first 3 days are tricky with sugar withdrawal disguised as hunger pangs but after that I felt so energetic and balanced!

Today is my new day one 🤞

Gensola · 25/09/2022 10:09

Hi all, I’m feeling a little better and have started moving slowly back towards the circle 😅 my reward was a 1 kilo / 2 pound loss on the scales today. My activity levels are still low, has anyone ever had a general anaesthetic before on here? Is it normal to feel so wiped out even 10 days later?
goals for this week: drink enough water, start experimenting with fruit to see if my throat can handle it. Get out for some longer walks.

ChocChipOwl · 25/09/2022 12:42

@Gensola totally normal. I've had two GAs on the past couple of years - one for a tummy tuck and one for a breast reduction. I was under for a long time - 4.5 hours with the tummy tuck

I did certain things after surgery to try and 'bring me back up' as I was wiped out.

Omega 3, iron, a very good multivitamin. Plenty of water - but not silly amounts. Eating a good diet. And resting. Don't underestimate the rest!

It does take time so be kind to yourself

@NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy hello again! It's so annoying to slip isn't it? I'm so cross with myself. I was starting every day with good intentions and then just stuffing my face by lunchtime

I'm feeling like I can give it the final push now so my new target in the shortish term is 14 lbs off by 19 November. This is a little bit ambitious but I think it's achievable
