I am 5"3 and weighed in yesterday at 15st 8.5! Heaviest I have been in a very long time 😭 feeling unfit and unattractive. I have so much going on and know that I am sabotaging myself and comfort eating due to tiredness but can't let anymore weight creep on. I am going on holiday next summer and Therefore am going to make that my goal. To be feeling healthier and more confident for next Aug. Going to return to MFP and back to tracking what I eat. Feel free to join me x

Hi @Crumpleton so glad you are still with me 😊 Good luck with the changes. Sounds like a good plan. I am exactly the same with sleep. I complain I am tired but then refuse to go to bed before 10 because I feel I haven't had a proper evening to myself. The more tired I am, the more I comfort eat so I really need to get a handle on my sleep.

I'd love to join @newme4lanzarote23, I have almost exactly 5 stone to lose, I'm currently just under 15 stone and I'd like to be just under 10 stone at some stage next year! It sounds like such an undertaking but I'm sooo tired of not fitting in my clothes! So I'll be following along for the moral support!

newme4lanzarote23 · 26/11/2022 20:10

Welcome @Iseepalmtrees x

Can I keep you company? I'm 5'6 and 15 stone 😞I feel very defeated by it, I seem to have been trying to lose weight all my life and it fills so much of my headspace. Sometimes I wonder what I could achieve if I spent more time thinking about other things! I spent years hovering around 13 stone and pretty miserable about it but now I find myself 2 stone heavier and very miserable about it! I'm perimenopausal and definitely find it harder to lose than it used to be - but people do it so it's not impossible. I'm going to go for 1600 calories but not count veg except for the very starchy ones. If I could get half a stone off by Christmas I'd be pretty happy I think.

newme4lanzarote23 · 26/11/2022 22:20

Of course @Iwantniceclothes welcome 😊 I feel you. Sure I've either been on a diet, watching my weight or feeling fat my whole adult life! Got to a point where I just want feel happy and healthy x

Half way through day 1. 900 calories left but I’m going to a friend’s for tea so it’ll be guesswork.

Iwantniceclothes · 28/11/2022 22:44

Talking to myself! Stayed under calorie allowance today.

Crumpleton · 28/11/2022 22:51

I've done pretty good today salad/fruit with all 3 meals.
Everything I've eaten I've put into my Nutracheck account so I can track it properly.
Off to bed before the tiredness eating starts.

Iwantniceclothes · 28/11/2022 23:22

Well done @Crumpleton it seems that tracking properly makes all the difference.

Iseepalmtrees · 29/11/2022 00:04

My start date is tomorrow, weighed myself today and officially 14' 13lbs. So that's motivation right there! Will try and log my weight weekly if no one minds, I think it might make me more accountable! Well done @Iwantniceclothes and @Crumpleton I've never got the hang of logging calories, but must try again this time around.

newme4lanzarote23 · 29/11/2022 06:26

Well done everyone , sounds like you are doing well👍I have kind of let tracking slip but am being very mindful and measuring potions etc @Iseepalmtrees of course it's okay to weigh in on here. I do the same (on a Wednesday).

Hello, can I sneak in here? Im 14st 7.8. I really need to stop snacking and stuffing my face.

I did really well with fast 800 last year but its all back. I need to get back to lower carb. Can't exercise to much at the moment because I've hurt my Achilles tendon but I'm going to try the cross trainer to see if i can do that. My usual choices of running and walking are out.

My plan this side of Christmas is lower carb and less snacking. Also going to ease into fasting again, starting with 14/10 today and see how I go.

newme4lanzarote23 · 29/11/2022 07:42

Of course 😊 welcome @Glenthebattleostrich

I am stuck at home all week with my chicken pox riddled son! Must stay strong and not boredom eat!

Hope your son isn't to bad with it @newme4lanzarote23 . My daughter enjoyed drawing around herself and putting the spots on the drawing when she had it. Kept us busy for hours!!!

newme4lanzarote23 · 29/11/2022 07:53

Thank @Glenthebattleostrich so far he seems okay and very pleased to be off school!!!

I remember those chicken pox days well with my 2 DC.
Bicarbonate of soda baths were really good for easing the itching..unfortunately it was a fix I only found out after my DS suffered from awful itchiness but it was a god send for my DD.

Iwantniceclothes · 29/11/2022 22:54

Stayed under the calorie limit again today. I usually sabotage myself with all sorts of madness about only eating unprocessed food or keeping carbs low as well as trying to count calories. I just make it impossible for myself. So at the moment I'm not letting myself get into that, I'm just counting the calories. And actually, yesterday and today weren't difficult. I know people talk about struggling to keep going after a few weeks but I honestly struggle to get past a couple of days!
Good luck with the chicken pox @newme4lanzarote23! Hopefully it's a mild dose and at least it will be over for Christmas.

newme4lanzarote23 · 30/11/2022 07:23

Well done @Iwantniceclothes sounds like you are doing really well. I'm the same if I go too restricted or extreme then I can't maintain it. I am of the thinking that if I am just mindful and watch portion size and snacking then that's a big difference in my normal eating patterns and will make a difference.

Mid week weigh in 14st 6lbs 3/4. Heading in the right direction 👍

Iwantniceclothes · 30/11/2022 23:48

Well done @newme4lanzarote23! Definitely going in the right direction! I’ve managed to stick to the calorie count again today. I wouldn’t say it’s a nutritionist’s dream but it’s still hitting the right number of calories. Micronutrients, macronutrients, carbs, protein levels and all the other stuff can wait!

Iwantniceclothes · 01/12/2022 07:46

Weighed this morning 4.5lbs down. I know that’s not real weight but it’s still encouraging. I started at 15st so my first goal is 14st 6 then 13st 13 to get me out of the 14s. I haven’t been out of the 14s for a VERY long time. Good luck everybody!

newme4lanzarote23 · 01/12/2022 10:54

Wow 4.5lbs is an amazing loss well done @Iwantniceclothes! My next aim is to get put if the 14s too we've got this 💪
