I am 5"3 and weighed in yesterday at 15st 8.5! Heaviest I have been in a very long time 😭 feeling unfit and unattractive. I have so much going on and know that I am sabotaging myself and comfort eating due to tiredness but can't let anymore weight creep on. I am going on holiday next summer and Therefore am going to make that my goal. To be feeling healthier and more confident for next Aug. Going to return to MFP and back to tracking what I eat. Feel free to join me x

Sounds like you’re doing really well OP. I’m 16st after a 3st weight loss - so pretty heavy, but am pleased things are going in the right direction, and I’ve started not to feel constantly hungry, another plus! 😀 Keep going.

204.6lbs this morning. Hooray! Broken my 206lbs barrier that I've been at for 3 weeks! 2nd September i weighed in at 206lbs.

4.6lbs to my next goal 💪🏻

Sandman100 · 23/09/2022 06:58

Count me in too im 5'2 and weigh 15 stone 2lbs and feeling like a hippo. Ive recently stopped smoking so that didnt help but im ready to get fitter and slimmer for Christmas.

TooHotToTangoToo · 23/09/2022 07:17

Well done op, slow and steady wins the race.
I'm off to Manchester with a friend this weekend so I've really crushed the diet this week, so it doesn't matter if I put a few lbs on, although I am going to try and make good choices whilst we're z out. She's not a big drinker which is good, as alcohol always means I raid the fridge

Sandman100 · 23/09/2022 07:25

I have also been diagnosed with a fatty liver and read dieting improves that a lot so the only thing Ive got to lose is 5 and a half stone. I dont drink so it must be food.

newme4lanzarote23 · 23/09/2022 15:54

Wow, great to hear everyone's updates. Sounds like everyone is doing so well 😊 welcome @Sandman100...I'm the same, don't really drink so all down to the food!! Hope everyone has a great weekend x

Had a terrible (but lovely) day food wise yesterday. Went to see the lion king with a friend and ate out twice and snack etc. back on the wagon today and weekly weigh in Tuesday

newme4lanzarote23 · 25/09/2022 18:07

Aww sounds lovely @TooHotToTangoToo. I love the Lion King and you can't beat time with a good friend x

Well done @newme4lanzarote23 that's a fantastic loss GrinFlowers

Even after my weekend away I just managed to scrape a 1lb loss this week which I'm chuffed with. Just another 2 and I'm down to the next stone bracket which in my goal in the next few weeks

newme4lanzarote23 · 28/09/2022 16:23

Well done @TooHotToTangoToo 😊👏

Looks like lots of people are doing really well!! I checked in at the beginning of the month ... started off monitoring my weight everyday but it plateaued after the first week so I thought I'd check at the end of the month to see if it evened out. It didn't. I've lost 2Ib in 30 days. 😭

I feel like I really don't know how to diet. This month I've taken a relaxed approach, cutting out sugar (which is good for me as I usually have sugar in my tea). So an average day will be Greek yogurt or muesli for breakfast, soup for lunch (some days I skip if not hungry) and a home cooked meal with the kids for dinner like casserole or such like. I'll have carbs but won't gorge on them. Minimal snacking.

The thing is, last time I tried to loose weight I majorly restricted to only eating in 4 hour slots each day (20/4?) and calorie controlling and after a month I had a similar loss (I think maybe my body went into starvation mode because I put on a stone afterwards).

So slow and steady doesn't seem to work nor extreme restrictive diets. Where am I going wrong?!?!

I suspect one of the few times I lost weight I stopped eating carbs. But cutting out carbs doesn't seem particularly sustainable long term.

This is amazing!! Congrats on being in the next bracket!!!

newme4lanzarote23 · 01/10/2022 08:58

Oh @10in10 that sounds so frustrating for you and I don't know what to suggest because it sounds like you are making such positive steps. Could you try lowering the amount of carbs without restricting them completely? I have to admit I really struggle without carbs too but I try and have smaller portions of them with more veg. I just want to say well done for keeping at it and I'm keeping everything crossed for you that you start seeing results xx

Very little change this week only 0.25lbs off. Never mind. New week starts here

Well done for the loss @newme4lanzarote23 might not be much but still going in the right direction Grin

Nothing off for me this week either, I know why, I've just not been as sensible with my choices as I have been. At least I've not put on.

newme4lanzarote23 · 05/10/2022 07:20

Thank you @TooHotToTangoToo . Yeah, I'm probably the same to be honest. Haven't returned completely to bad ways but maybe not being quite as boundaried with my food choices. Here's hoping we both have a loss next week xx

OP posts:
newme4lanzarote23 · 12/10/2022 07:04

Really trying not to get frustrated and give up. Because still weighing in at 14st 9lbs. That's only 1lb in nearly 3 weeks. Seemed to have plateaued 😢 not sure whether to keep going with what I'm doing and hope that very slowly but surely it comes off or whether I need to kick start myself again somehow. Hope everyone else is having more success xx

newme4lanzarote23 · 19/10/2022 07:13

Not sure if anyone is still with me but 14st 7lbs and 3/4 today. Still pretty slow but over the stone mark which is good. Had a few wobbles this week but trying to get back on it and stay focussed on the end goal x

A loss is a loss no matter how slow, so we'll done a stone loss is brilliant.
Although we all know it would be lovely lose 2-3lb a week by losing slowly hopefully habits are being changed for the better.
I lost 5lb over 2 weeks, then it all went Pete tong, now I'm waiting for an appointment to come through for a scan, hopefully it'll be within the 2 week mark.
When things go wrong and I have a health scare I totally go right off piste. Not that I'm eating unhealthy, just not really eating much.

newme4lanzarote23 · 21/10/2022 07:09

Thank you @Crumpleton. Yes, I know you are right and I would say the same to others. I had a bit of a blip where I nearly gave up but trying to remain focused. I'm so sorry to hear about your health concerns. Really hope things are sorted for you soon x

I'm still here @newme4lanzarote23!

Sorry I haven't been posting much. Well done on your loss to date - slow and steady definitely wins the race although I know how frustrating it can be.

I'm plodding on too. I've lost 6.8kg so far which is just over a stone in old money I think. Again pretty slow after the first couple of weeks but hey ho.

I'm enjoying my PT sessions and feel much stronger....just want to get slimmer now!!

I'd like to lose another 3kg by the end of the year but not sure how realistic that is with silly season coming up - the weekends are about to get super busy with social stuff and I know I'm not going to be able to resist mince pies and Prosecco haha.

Anyway - onwards and downwards as they say.....we've got this!

newme4lanzarote23 · 23/10/2022 08:57

Hi @ShoopShoop so
glad you are still with me 😊 and well done on your loss so far. Sound like you have made some really healthy and positive changes 💪I am trying my best to stay on track over the next few months but definitely hard with halloween, fireworks night, Christmas etc. Lots of events and lots of food! Saw pics of myself from about 5 years ago yesterday. I was so skinny despite having a baby and sleepless nights to contend with. So if I could do it then, I can definitely do it now. I'm definitely not getting enough exercise because I am struggling with plantar fasciitis but might start swimming again if I can fit it in!

Hi all, hope everyone is well. I realise nobody is really on this thread anymore but need to get myself back on track so am going to use it as self motivation. (Obviously people are still welcome to join me 😊) so bit of an update.......
During Oct half term I went completely off the rails and have then spent most of the last few months eating my kids Halloween sweets and eating crap.
Anyway decided at the start of this week to get back on track (again!). Weighed in at 14st 9.5lbs. 14st 8lb this morning. Now just got to hold it together on the run up to Christmas.

I've been popping in but not posting.
Haven't been doing to well myself, not helped by menopause throwing it's all at me.
DH is off away for work tomorrow for the week and I've stocked the fridge up with foods that I'm hoping will be a kick start for me.

I've never been one for eating breakfast first thing and normally end up having toast, with far to much butter around 10/11am then I'm not hungry at lunchtime so miss that and graze on snacks until my dinner in the evening, which truth be told after filling up on junk I could well do without dinner.
I'm one that's happy to live on salads through the winter months and am fortunate to WFH so I may see how it works out having my main meal during lunchtime and something light in the evening.

I also need to start going to bed when my body tells me to instead of my mind insisting it's only 9.30 pm and to early....I fill the time by grazing on snacks and biscuits and being over tired/bloated and then unable to sleep...and I also think a bad nights sleep contributes to the bad food choices I make.

In a nutshell I need to have a complete overall of my eating habits.
So I'll still be joining you on your journey.
