newme4lanzarote23 · 29/08/2022 07:54

I am 5"3 and weighed in yesterday at 15st 8.5! Heaviest I have been in a very long time 😭 feeling unfit and unattractive. I have so much going on and know that I am sabotaging myself and comfort eating due to tiredness but can't let anymore weight creep on. I am going on holiday next summer and Therefore am going to make that my goal. To be feeling healthier and more confident for next Aug. Going to return to MFP and back to tracking what I eat. Feel free to join me x

Managed to stay off the snacks again last night which I'm pleased about. Only an apple and banana.

Fatasbuggery · 01/09/2022 08:09

Morning everyone

Today I am still on the admin life trail. Then popping into work for a couple of hours. My plan is to keep logging on mfp and keep away from the snacks.

We are away this weekend which is a worry, this would normally mean lots of booze and food so I am going to have to try and stay very focussed.

Good luck to all for a productive day.

Crinkletinkle · 01/09/2022 08:53

Can I join please? I'm 42 and currently at 90 kg, and would be delighted if I get down to 70.

I lost about 15kg on Jenny Craig post baby and maintained for a few years, but gained it all back (plus extra) when I switched to a different medication.

I lost about 2 kg on OMAD earlier this year, but at the moment I need eat more frequently during the day so I'm planning to count calories and not eat after 7pm.

Intermittent fast so don’t eat til lunch or after 8pm

Eat meals on smaller plates to reduce portion size

cut our crap snacks

vigorous exercise most mornings

lost 2 stone (12 to 10 am 5 6) and kept off though have to continue doing the above!

Well survived first day back at work and avoided the massive choc fudge cake and selection or Danish pastries in the staff room! Had a cheeky early weigh in this morning and very happy to be 6lbs lighter 😊 I'm sure it's mostly water weight but glad it's going down in tbe right direction. Next mini target is to get out of the 15s. Sounds like everyone is doing great too 👍

2 proper days in so far, staying on track with my food and water! Looking forward to hopefully see the number tick down over the next couple of weeks and optimistically hoping to get into the 15s. It's not my goal weight, but my mini goal is to get to 14st 8 as that'll be my 2 stone mark and definitely not just water weight 😂

I'm attempting to stick with fast800 for the first 2 stone, I feel like getting through the first 2-4 weeks is going to be a challenge but I'm trying to keep the big picture in mind.

DH and I got too complacent, with food especially over lockdown, so have both agreed on no takeaways until we've each lost 1 stone as they were a real guilty pleasure.

AndYet · 01/09/2022 16:37

Well done @newme4lanzarote23! I weighed at 14st 12 this morning so out of the 15s for the first time in a while however I started at 15st 1 so I can't celebrate too much!

I batch cook and had planned to have my home cooked chicken and veg curry yesterday. Went to the freezer to discover it had all defrosted at some point, nightmare! Had nothing else in really so for a split second I wanted to walk to local chinese or kebab place but I was strong💪I cobbled together a dinner of peas, bit of cheese, salami, yoghurt and apple. Salami isn't ideal but I'm loosely following low carb so not too bad.

Need to find the time to batch cook now to replace the healthy meals I lost!

TooHotToTangoToo · 01/09/2022 18:49

So far so good today
Breakfast - fruit
Lunch - homemade chicken curry with stacks of veggies and boiled rice
Tea - whole meal pit and the remaining chicken
Snacks - mandarin slicers, apple, banana and a handful of my dh crisps

Shinyllama · 01/09/2022 19:01

Yes, I'm definitely interested in this. I need to lose 5 stone and need all the motivation I can find!

cissyandbessy · 01/09/2022 19:27

Am a few days late but yes please I'd like to join. Have joined threads before and had a big fat fail but feeling pretty motivated so would like to see if I can do it this time! Am 16st 10 - my heaviest ever and really struggling with menopause aches and pains and just feeling rubbish about my physical shape and health.

10in10 · 01/09/2022 19:37

Ohh, I might join!! Lots of what you're all saying chimes with me .. haven't weighed myself in ages but I suspect I'm 15 stone plus. Clothes feeling much tighter and I'm also worried that I might have slipped into a size 18.

Last diet I tried was fasting and I didn't seem to loose anything. Then of course put on more afterwards.

I need to come up with a plan!! Hoping to start when the kids go back to school next week.

LeanQuizzine · 02/09/2022 07:34

Looks like this thread is moving along nicely and in the right direction. I've been watching what I eat since around the beginning of Augst, weighed in yesterday and have lost 6lbs bringing me to 15st 4. Next goal is to get into the 14s.

Very quiet weekend ahead which can be worse in some ways I find for random mindless eating. Does anyone else find that? I've got plenty to keep me occupied (hello, mountain of washing) but need to do something stimulating that isn't putting food in my mouth.

TooHotToTangoToo · 02/09/2022 08:42

Woke up REALLY hungry today. So just about to grab some fruit and yogurt and porridge to try and fill myself up.

Home made veggie curry and rice is pegged for lunch

Friday has has always been the chippie, but I'm getting into just having a large fish, not eating the batter and dipping it in curry sauce Blush

Crinkletinkle · 02/09/2022 10:54

Well, I re-downloaded MFP after 4 years, and it still has some of my old food plans. So that was quite helpful for some inspiration - particularly for breakfast - all bran, frozen blueberries and greek yohurt.

Was hoping to keep to 1200cal today, but went to 1400 which wasn't too bad. I was really craving something sweet after dinner so had some date/nut balls and managed to stop at 2 when I'd normally eat 5.

Riverskye · 02/09/2022 11:10

@TooHotToTangoToo That's what I started doing with chippys as well! Just eating the fish with curry sauce 😄 maybe share a chip with DH if I'd not eaten much that day.

Veggie curry sounds lovely, think I'll add that to my meal plan next week!

chalkyc2 · 04/09/2022 07:54

Can I join please? I have more like 7 stone to lose (dear god). 110 kg and 165cm. I deal in metric because it kind of hides the horrific reality of being over 17 stone at 5'4".

I'm 50 in 6 months. I look terrible! I'm a classic yo-yo dieter and on the rebound from losing and gaining 25kg over the last 2 years. I also lost my gallbladder which decided rapid weight loss was all too much and produced a load of gallstones. Fun fun. Anyway. Back on track on Monday and limbering up this weekend. I'm loosely basing myself on fast 800 but I'm not over strict about drinks, so it probably ends up about 1000-1200. Let's see how things go. None of my winter clothes fit and I had to buy a new summer wardrobe this year after chucking all my fat clothes out!

Does anyone else think their weight affects their career? I sort of do...

WhenDovesFly · 04/09/2022 08:33

I started last Monday but weighed in today because I'd like Sunday to be my weigh-in day. Pleased to see I've lost 6lb. I'm really happy but I'm realistic to know the first week is always the best and there will be a loss of excess water in there. I'm motivated though, so I'm going to keep it up and try to increase my steps. My biggest fail is usually not doing enough exercise, but I have to drive to work and I have a desk-bound job so evenings are my only real opportunity.

newme4lanzarote23 · 04/09/2022 08:52

@WhenDovesFly brilliant well done 👏 x

TooHotToTangoToo · 04/09/2022 09:03

Well done @WhenDovesFly

I've had a positive week, fell off the wagon a bit last night, but we had a village fete so too much gin and a bat of chocolate. My weigh on day is Tuesday so I've got time to recover from that

NeedToMakeAStart · 04/09/2022 09:15

Can I join? I read this thread because I need to lose about 5 stone, and then I weighed myself and I realised I am exactly the same height and weight as you were when you started OP. To the half pound! It has to be a sign. Anyway I am going to be doing intermittent fasting. With healthy foods for my meal! I am going to look at supplements and vitamins as well. I think I have chronic inflammation, a lot of stiffness and soreness moving about. I am a size 20 in most tops, although still squeeze into size 18 jeans.

Thanks for starting the thread and good luck everyone. next August sounds like a perfect goal as well.

My weigh ins will be Sundays

Well done for getting the first 6 pounds off @newme4lanzarote23

Hello everyone 😁

newme4lanzarote23 · 04/09/2022 09:27

@NeedToMakeAStart of course, welcome. Crazy that we had the exact same stats! Fingers crossed soon enough we will both be comparing our healthy weights

OP posts:
AlansFungalFootPowder · 04/09/2022 09:28

Same height as you OP, and over 15 st as well. Feeling panicky and need to do something. Just spotted this thread and would be happy to tag along.

WhenDovesFly · 04/09/2022 09:29

@newme4lanzarote23 well done to you too, and to everyone who has had losses this week.

Welcome to all our new joiners and good luck with your quests. I’m loving all the support on this thread.

Riverskye · 04/09/2022 12:11

Hope everyone's had a great week!

I wobbled a couple of times and ate slightly more than I'd planned, I'm not really excising yet but hope to work that in over the next few weeks. I'm still losing my water weight, from past experience my initial 6lbs or so drops off rapidly and then evens out but as long as it's always something each week I don't mind.

Currently working on cutting back my carbs and upping my protein but we still have food to eat through which I don't want to waste. I've heard cottage cheese is meant to be lower cal/high protein so will see if I can convince myself to eat it 😁something about the texture always throws me off. Maybe blending it will help?
