Well done Bran.

Woodpops, sorry for your loss. Don't beat yourself up about eating. It wasn't much, and you have done so well that a blip (if it actually was one!) will not affect your long term goal.

wrapmefestively · 09/12/2004 20:32

Woodpops - you must think I am a hard nosed cow! I missed the bit in your post about your gran having died when I first read it. Sorry about your loss Sad

champs · 12/12/2004 00:46

I'm here champs, but I've been a bit busy this weekend as my parents have been to visit. Unfortunately I've been eating lots of the wrong things (like cheese Blush), as well as going out for meals, so I'm a long way over on my points. I've decided that I'm not going to worry too much about dieting over Christmas, if I can't stick to my points when they're staying with me then I definitely won't be able to when dh and I are staying with them.

I don't know where everyone else has gone - it's gone all quiet and echo-y in here. Nevermind, there'll be hoards clammouring to join us in January Wink.

miam · 12/12/2004 20:11

I'm still clattering around in the empty corridors champs! Was at my work's do on Friday - fab (Abba revival night - wore a beautiful black slinky dress with big black afro wig, huge gold star sunglasses and big furry moustache - very glam). Only managed to eat my starter and soup before feeling hugely bloated and danced too much to drink too much so a very successful evening! So my diet is intact, but my feet are not - cannot see my toes for the blisters but surely all that jiving should have lost me a few pounds??

Woodpops - hugs to you. Hope you are ok. xx

champs · 12/12/2004 20:13

Shock Didnt think of that Champs - all that fluid!!!! (Envy - feel sick now, too much info!)

woodpops · 13/12/2004 09:36

Morning all. It seemed to go very quiet on here last week I hope it wasn't my fault for posting about grandma. Anyway, I went to tub club Thurs as norma and I'd lost 8lb. That makes it 56½lb. I was over the moon, I've hit the 4stone mark!!!!

soapboxingday · 13/12/2004 09:40

Wow - woodpops - fantasticGrin

I managed to put on 1.5lbs this week - I am really struggling with not eating at the moment - particularly all the Christmas dos! Still will try and get back on the wagon again this week.

I am so sorry to hear about your Grnadma - you did so well to stick with the diet at a time of upset like this.

miam · 13/12/2004 10:36

Shock woodpops that is absolutely incredible - well done!!! I am still stuck boo hoo. Hopefully I will start to lose this week again. Am going to do some skipping today......

woodpops · 13/12/2004 10:36

Morning soapbox, I've not seen you around for ages. I did have a little slip up last week. 3 tiny spuds and some roast beef. I have never felt so stuffed in all of my life. Phase 1 finishes on the 30th but I am have Xmas dinner with my family.

You've finished phase 1 haven't you???

wrapmefestively · 13/12/2004 11:37

Woodpops - you're weight loss is phenomenol!

It's my weekly weigh in tomorrow (well, this is only week 2) so I am hoping for a pound or two....

BRANdybutter · 13/12/2004 15:42

Woodpops, that's an amazing loss, you must be so proud. I don't know how you do it, I can feel my determination slipping. My mind keeps whispering that it's Christmas time after all, one bar of chocolate won't hurt, even though logically I can see that Christmas Day is still almost 2 weeks away and it's much too early to relax and let rip. At least I'm managing to keep the boozing to a minimum this year.

woodpops · 14/12/2004 08:25

I think the fact that the siet is costing me £45 a week is a big help. When I feel l;ike stuff it I then think but I can't waste all that money!!!! Plus I've got rid of all of my 'fat' clothes!!!!!

From a 20 to a 12.

wrapmefestively · 14/12/2004 12:42

Well, I can't aspire to match Woodpops remarkable rate of weight loss, but on week 2 weigh in it seems I have lost another 2lbs

woodpops · 14/12/2004 13:20

Well done. It's a good feeling to be loosing weight isn't it??

BRANdybutter · 14/12/2004 13:58

Well done WMF, keep up the good work.

My motivation is slipping - I am on the verge of saying 'stuff it' and giving up until the new year, but then I think about how much I could put back on in that time. If I can just hold out until I finish work on the 24th I think it'll make all the difference to my post-Christmas weight. It's so hard though, I've gone a little over my points almost every day this week, and for some reason I'm starving all the time . Do you think it's the cold weather? I've been really bad about exercise in the last fortnight, so perhaps that was acting as an appetite supressant when I was doing it.

wrapmefestively · 14/12/2004 13:59

Yep it certainly is. It spurs me on to keep on the straight and narrow when I get results. Even Christmas doesn't seem that much of a challenge (she says boldly)

wrapmefestively · 14/12/2004 14:02

OOOhh Brandybutter,

Our posts crossed and mine sounds really smug after yours!

Don't slip off the wagon! - think of all the effort you've put in so far to get a hard won weight loss. It would be such a waste to chuck it in and you'll have to go through it all again.

Why not give yourself Christmas Day and Boxing Day off and tell yourself that you can eat what you like on those days? You might put on a pound by doing this...but if you plan a mini diet holiday it might be easier to stick to things in the run up to Christmas?

wrapmefestively · 14/12/2004 14:04

Doubt its the exercise - I usually feel hungrier after working out. Sounds like you need a little pick me up? - how about getting yourself an uplifting non food treat (dunno - whatever floats your boat - maybe some expensive cosmetics / perfume, or a facial???)

wrapmefestively · 14/12/2004 14:06

Sorry - I've got verbal diarrhoea. Brandybutter - when I get hunger pangs I tell myself it's good because its a sign that my body is burning fat stores. It works for me....

I'll shut up now (I'm over excitable because I've had an hour to myself due to kids sleeping)

woodpops · 14/12/2004 14:20

Are you sure they are always hunger pangs?? One of the things I've learnt on this diet is that a hunger pang isn't always hunger. It may be thirst, try a glass of water. I can honestly say I've not been hungry while on this diet and like WMF said it shows that your body is burning fat.
