hi all and welcome to bottle!!
mokeygirl..... I am not sure how long it took her, i sem to have lost the magreally must tidy my house
woodpops and soapbox.... I have to be honest and say
OMGosh you are both doing sooooo well. My friend wants me to do LL with her and I am very tempted. How does maintenance work? do you go back straight to food or do you have to ease into it?
bran..... i am starting to slack on WW, must work harder.
Glitter..... Hi!!!

Champs, my understanding of maintenance at the moment is that you are weaned back onto food slowly, like a baby being weaned really. After a few weeks you have 'triggger' weeks where you introduce food that would normally cause you to keep on eating like cheese, bread etc etc. I'm in 2 minds whether to start following WW when I go onto maintenance.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 30/11/2004 08:59

Have put on a pound this week. Have been eating rubbish like cake and soft bread as I can't chew properly because of this bl**dy wisdom tooth.

Of course this should have meant I ate nothing at all and lost half a stone.

woodpops · 30/11/2004 10:34

Don't worry puff, at least you know why you've gained this week. Come on love back on track from now on. Throw all of the cr@p out of the house.

lol@ puff and dior
must say dont look forward to weigh in tomorrow. I have that strange feeling of either pg or period gonna start!! been eating far too many sweet things. right thats it, from now on am doing water trick, drink water and see if i still want something.
woodpops--- sounds quite daunting. would you use ww like a maintenance type thing? you'd have to be over a certain amount of weight to join i think. I am just so mad with myself this week, i am thinking i have had years to do something about this weight and instead of doing something to loose it i have been doing something to increase it. Oh well... hindsight and all that.

Champs - it's all too easy to dwell on the what ifs and wish I'd...so DON'T! (and yes I do that too and I drive myself mad). Not that Sharon Osbourne is my heroine and she has had a lot of - - ahem - help but she was right when she said some of us are just late bloomers. Anyway that's what I keep telling myself!

monkeygirl · 01/12/2004 11:22

Oh meant to say well done to Soapbox - it's just bloody unbelievable! Are you eating Xmas dinner then?

And welcome bottle!

StuffTheMagicTurkey · 01/12/2004 11:22

Thanks champs.

Dior, I did the soup too, but crammed the bread (slavered with butter) in at the same time !

handlemecarefully · 01/12/2004 11:37

After a brief cameo entrance on this thread (a couple of weeks ago) I disappeared into the wilderness. Felt too fraudulent to post here since whilst I wanted to loose weight I wasn't really engaging much energy or willpower. However, things have changed - got some photos back at the weekend and I truly looked gargantuan, frumpy and old. So I now have new resolve. Will be a regular on here now!

I'm using the weightlossresources.co.uk site to help me with my dieting efforts. Anyone else trying this?

Btw I have got around 28lbs to loose.

woodpops · 01/12/2004 11:51

It's frightening when you get photos back like that isn't it?? That's what kicked my arse into gear. I've now lost 48½lb and people are commenting that I look so much younger. I never thought I looked old at the time but looking back now I looked truley awful.

Good luck handlemecarefully

handlemecarefully · 01/12/2004 12:07

48lbs Woodpops - wow, respect! How much more do you have to loose?

Thanks for the good luck wishes. I can sense in myself a real determination to suceed this time, so hopefully in a few months will be a new slender me.

This is day 1 of the diet...and I am feeling predictably hungry. However, I am trying to see hunger pangs positively as a sign that whilst I am hungry I am probably burning up fat stores .

woodpops · 01/12/2004 12:21

I go buy how i look and feel so I don't know how much more I want to loose. What I have lost I've done in 9 weeks. So I rekon I can do another stone by xmas (fingers crossed).

If you're feeling hungry have you tried having a glass of water?? Sounds silly I know but the diet I'm doing is total meal replacement and I've not been hungry once. Tomorrow will be the 10 week anniversary of when I last ate 'real' food?? As part of the diet I also have to drink a minimum of 4 litres of water a day which I think is filling me up!!!

Jennisaurus · 01/12/2004 23:01

Woodpops thats amazing! Congrats.

I am ever so slightly worried about Christmas now, I don't want to put any weight on! But thats a bit of a dream I think.

Today I went a bit downhill as I got tireder. I started off with bran flakes and skimmed milk. After a 12hr shift I ended up with hashbrowns (WHY!), Bacon and 2 jam tarts

I need more health lunch suggestions please.

glitterfairy · 02/12/2004 11:04

Hi guys just dropping in and saying hi. Have been at the gym two days running and am feeling ok about things. Not really dieting just not going mad but then have been so busy I dont seem to have done anything but run around anyway.

BRANdybutter · 02/12/2004 11:46

Hello all - don't you just love my Christmas name? Furball suggested it and it's just perfect, although it does make me a little hungry when I type it.

I lost another 1 lb at last night's weigh-in, which is still slow, but ok. It takes me over 1.5 stones, and it means there's only another 4 lbs until I've lost 10% of my starting weight. I doubt that I'll get to that before Christmas that the current rate of loss, but I'll definitely get there in January.

Jennisaurus, how about a low point soup and some wholemeal bread for lunch? Or houmus and cucumber on dark rye ryvita? Or ready made falafels heated up in the oven, in a wholemeal pitta bread with lots of salad and a yougurt and mint sauce? (I have to stop now because I'm making myself hungry )

glitterfairy · 02/12/2004 16:57

Brandybutter I could just gobble you up! What great ideas for lunch I am thinking of doing ww after chrsitmas when I know they will have a special offer to induce me. How on earth will I stop myself thinking of Little Britain though and Fat Fighters?

BRANdybutter · 02/12/2004 17:15

Glitter, I have to admit that now and then when I'm sitting in a WW meeting something will remind me of Little Britain and I have to try hard to stop myself smirking , although our leader is nothing at all like the Fat Fighter's leader. The number of people weighing in at our meeting is quite low at the moment (about 2/3 of what it was a month ago), but I think it's going to be really, really busy for the first 2-3 weeks of January. It is a good time to start though, with all the temptations of Christmas behind you.

champs · 02/12/2004 17:53

hi all!!
Glitter---- so good to hear from you. Keep up the gym, you really are putting me to shame, you must have buns of steel by now lol

BrandyB---- great name!! why do i feel like mince pies now well done with lb, forgot to weigh self this morning, will do tomorrow

wrapmefestively · 02/12/2004 21:46

Brandybutter,

1.5 stones cumulative loss is very respectable!

Day 2 of my diet has passed with me demonstrating iron will. Was around a friends house with a couple of other friends and I managed to ignore a plate of chocolate biscuits for the whole 3 hours that I was there.....

Also burnt off 450 calories at the gym...so I am on a roll now.

miam · 02/12/2004 22:25

Hi all. You are all doing great!!! I have my works do next friday (a very posh dinner/dance affair) and trailed up town to buy a dress to wear. I dread it every year because trying to find something that could make me look less like an elephant was impossible and I was never happy with what I had bought and then felt miserable at the do. Anyway, today I went shopping with my dd1 (11) and the FIRST item she saw in the FIRST shop we went into was a slinky black number. I tried it on and it fitted perfectly!!!!! How easy is clothes shopping when you have lost weight??? And it was a loose 14. Could have squeezed into a 12, but I want to be comfortable. I had forgotten what it was like to enjoy shopping for clothes - fabulous feeling. And I havent seen most of my work colleagues since the last do, and I am over 2 stone lighter now! I'm not bragging (well yes I am a little) but I just wanted to say that sometimes we think we will only see results ONCE we have got to our goal weight. When in reality you are seeing and enjoying results every step of the way. I still have over a stone to lose, but nothing is going to stop me now. I must have lost another pound typing all this surely! Keep it up everyone!!!!!

champs · 03/12/2004 00:00

brag away miam, you have done very well and deserve it. You are going to look wonderful.
