Still great news, even if you weren't trying, probably all the healthy diet and exercising has improved your fertility and you'll probably conceive everytime your dh looks at you (that is how it works isn't it?). How many do you have already? I was at my 20 year reunion over Christmas and there was a woman there who had 12 children . I should have told her about this thread as she was very overweight even in school and now she's looking very, very saggy (must STOP bitching - it'll be my new year's resolution).

champs · 30/12/2004 16:51

ROFL!!! Yes thats how it happens he looked at me... lol must you stop bitchin?? It has cheered me up am feeling very tired and (sick)

OP posts:
BRANdybutter · 30/12/2004 16:59

I hope the sickness passes soon, is it doing any good for your weight loss, or are you making up for it with naughty food at other times?

I promise to continue being bitchy, if you promise to stay on this thread. You might as well stay, you know you'd only have to come back here in 9 months time and start all over if you don't.

champs · 30/12/2004 17:10

will have to stay then wont I lol. i fear dh will hide my scales again if he sees me getting them out. will still watch what i eat as am NOT gonna put on too much. will be healthy eating and not dieting. grrrrrrrr was doing so well too......

Ok I've climbed out of the very big hole I've been hiding down . Had a v bad month in Dec and kind of gave up but did lurk and see how well you are all doing. But now I am back with A Vengeance!

Champs well I see you had a very good December - big big congratulations - how many kids do you have already?

Woodpops - did your Xmas dinner taste good or just strange?

champs · 01/01/2005 15:22

Hi MonkeyGirl!!! you didn't have a bad month, you just took a diet break to enjoy the season!!

I have two already, the youngest being 16months so am a little apprehensive.

OP posts:
monkeygirl · 02/01/2005 21:10

I sure did indulge myself! But feeling confident thiss time round cos dh is seriously going for it as well with me.

Well your youngest will be 2 by the time you have the baby so at least s/he will be a little more independent and hopefully excited to have a new playmate - how exciting. Feeling sick yet?

PuffTheMagicDragon · 03/01/2005 09:55

Champs - lovely news !

Tomorrow I weigh myself and find out just how much I've put on over Xmas and New Year (6lbs I reckon). Ho hum, back to being good. Getting the juicer out today and making a big pan of veg soup.

MrsBigD · 03/01/2005 18:37

Hi there can I join please? Have sort of started dieting yesterday and have 18kg to loose (I think that's 2st and a bit). As for 'healthy weight'... in the 'olden days' we always used the following calculation : hight in cm - 100 - 5% and you've got the weight you should be... so in my case 160-100=60-3=57.
I managed to get down to 60kg and was looking good... that was before dd. then I put on some then lost some and just had ds where I put on more then some . Am 75kg at the moment 'yoiks'

PuffTheMagicDragon · 03/01/2005 19:07

welcome MrsBigD .

MrsBigD · 03/01/2005 21:42

here's my age old question... 'why is it that as soon as I decide to go on a dieat I'm ravenous and crave everything I'm not supposed to have?' .

Better stock up on chromium and vitamins tomorrow I guess at least that way I might loose my chocolate cravings

woodpops · 04/01/2005 08:34

Morning all and a very happy new year to everyone. Where di9d the Xmas break go?? I didn't get a chance to get logged on once. I've managed to loose another 8lb over the break so only another 2lb to make it 5 stone. Xmas dinner was really nice very strange to be eating and I felt very uncomfortable all afternoon but it was a lovely day. Plus cinderella DID go to the ball new years eve and it was fab. Got all dolled up. A new size 12 little black dress. I even had a spray tan. It was absolutly brilliant. The best new years eve we've ever had. I think I laughed all night long.

Congratulations champs. I was doing WW when I fell pregnant with both ds and dd so I dearn't try WW again. I'll stick to LL. Hope the sickness passes soon.

Welcome MrsBigD. My tip for when you're feeling hungry ......... a glass of water. It's not always hunger pangs when you're dieting often it's just thirst!!!!

handlemecarefully · 04/01/2005 09:42

Welcome Mrs BigD and good luck with the dieting!

Woodpops - impressed that you managed to loose weight over the Christmas period! I fell off the wagon a bit (mostly with alcohol) so I'm relieved to have stayed the same weight over the Christmas period rather than put on any of my weight lost so far.

Brandybutter - lol at your friend at the school reunion. Me thinks she is entitled to look a bit saggy after 12 kids!

Champs - congrats on the pregnancy!

Monkeygirl - I didn't realise that you posted on this thread. Ds looked a really cutey in your Santa Suit btw (my Christmas name is wrapmefestively if you don't recognise me)- I have decided to offer it up to other mumsnetters next December - perhaps start a new Mumsnet Christmas tradition!

MrsBigD · 04/01/2005 10:27

woodpops - I'm impressed that you lost weight over the festive season. Well done I already drink 6 liters a day so my hunger pangs/cravings are more down to poor greed than misinterpreted thirst

May I ask you how long it took you to loose the last 2 stone? Just being nosey as that's what I have to loose to get back into a size 12

oh and I shall be starting my work out dvd's today. Well at least I'll have a look at them. need to be cleared by the doc first for excersice as I've got a kidney infection and naturally don't want to aggravate it.

So far have been a 'good girl' this morning. 1 slice of toast and 1 can of slimfast (for the sweet cravings )

woodpops · 04/01/2005 11:02

It's taken me 14 weeks to loose 68lb.

MrsBigD · 04/01/2005 13:04

WOW! What did you do? That's amazing!

champs · 04/01/2005 13:46

hi all!! welcome MrsBD!!
Ty for congrats puff, woodpops and HMC. Am as sick as a parrot !!! I am also wondering whether to start SW as it is recomended by midwives association or whatever it is to be safe during pg. I am getting a bit worried to be honest. I know what I can be like when I see the weight going up.

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 04/01/2005 13:49

champs you're supposed to put on a little bit when pg

champs · 04/01/2005 14:10

woodpops · 04/01/2005 14:15

I put on a stone the minute the pregnancy test shows positive . Can you not just try to eat healthy things?? I know with both of my pregnancies I was sick every day until the little darlings were born. Everything made me sick, I couldn't keep anything down but I still managed to lump the weight on. SW might be an idea though, at least if you're following some sort of helthy eating plan it'll be a gradual weight gain IYKWIM.

handlemecarefully · 04/01/2005 14:56

Personally Champs I would forget the diet whilst pregnant. Particularly if you are suffering from morning sickness you have to eat whatever you can face - even if its chocolate digestives!

handlemecarefully · 04/01/2005 14:57

But don't let me put you off healthy eating / posting on here!

monkeygirl · 04/01/2005 15:17

HMC - I think you are getting me confused with someone else - although I'm sure ds would have looked cute in a Santa suit!

Welcome MrsBigD - are you aiming to become MrsLittleD then .

Champs - I was dieting and had lost 2 stones when I became pregnant with ds (now 6 month old). I ended up 1 stone heavier post-birth but that was because I ate every sweet thing that came within my radar and was surprised I didn't put on much more. The problem for me was continuing eating exactly (and then some) the same afterwards when I put on a further 2 stone until I stopped 8 days ago (not that I'm obsessively counting ).

Woodpops - I'm so happy for you - your end of year sounded like a dream and is very inspirational - well done!

handlemecarefully · 04/01/2005 15:20

Oh god - have I confused you with someone else. I am so thoroughly mad, insane and confused
