Evesmama · 24/01/2005 21:42

well it killed me today, but kept my grubby little mits off dd's bar of choc, shoved a banana down my throat as soon as i got hope to stop the sweet craving and seems to have worked???

Evesmama · 24/01/2005 22:00

no one to natter with

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:06

hello..anyone around?

PuffTheMagicDragon · 25/01/2005 09:18

MrsBigD you lost weight - that is brill, it doesn't matter how much or how little, anyway half a kilo is v respectable .

Monkeygirl - 5lbs - well done if I haven't said it already .

Evesmama - you are doing well on the chocolate ban.

Weigh in today and I had stayed the same. I had a no holds barred meal out on Fri, with champagne etc, so maybe that's the culprit. Ho hum, need to be strict with myself this week. I shall make up a big pot of veg/chicken/pearl barley soup this morning.

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:22

dont be too strict with yourself puff, i find thats how i always go on self destruct as if theres a fat person inside me beting the hell out of the slim person(fat person generally wins)
just have a good week and dont go mad..you're doing great and after all, you do have a life too, so there will be times when this happens, dont worry about it, just start afresh
like ann widocombe said to ex corrie bloke last week on fit club..it was his brthday and he said he was gonna be looking for the right foods..she told him, to go to his party..eat, drink and enjoy because otherwise, you'll feel you've missed out or deprived yourself....your human afterall

PuffTheMagicDragon · 25/01/2005 09:24

Good advice Evesmama, in fact, I think I WAS overly strict with myself on other days, hence my body may have gone into "being starved" mode and I haven't lost the weight I usually do, when I have a normal gi diet week.

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:29

thats it, when we're slimming we think if we 'dont eat' then we can go mad at weekend etc, but if we plan to do it for long time and keep weight off it has to be steady and gradual..you might find yo have 3 birthdays in a week to go to, but if you eat well before, your less likely to go mad when your there..dont beat yourself up..think of of well youve done and just make sure your not starving when you go, cos then the champers will go straight to your head and all reason gos out the door...glad you had a good night, dont feel guilty

FineFigureFio · 25/01/2005 09:35

Puff, i am the same. Went out for two meals this week and had a takeaway am absolutely dreading my weigh in this morning
out of interest, is anyone doing WW? Do you know how many points a slice of wholemeal nimble bread is?

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:44

what time are you both getting weighed?
do you both go to classes?

FineFigureFio · 25/01/2005 09:46

yes my class starts at 10 am,,,,,,aaarrrgghhh
must go really

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:48

just get weighed, dont be disheartend whatever the outcome..you know you havent eaten like an angel, youve eaten like a normal person would after having such a busy social life this week...its only a week in the scale of things just a glitch, so jump on those scales and tell them what a wonderful week youve had with your friends family

FineFigureFio · 25/01/2005 09:49

I LIKE you evesmama!

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:50

thankyou

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 09:54

so are you getting weighed at hm puff or do you go to a GI class?

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 10:03

am off to do a bit of cleaning now, good luck today girls, let me know how it go'sand keep positive

bran · 25/01/2005 10:30

Hi everyone - FFF 1 slice of wholemeal Nimble is 0.5 points - but 2 slices is 1.5 points. I think it's revolting stuff though, and would always prefer proper wholemeal bread which is about the same points anyway.

Can anyone think of a good aerobic exercise that doesn't strain the knees? I did something (I don't know what) to my left knee a couple of weeks ago and although it doesn't hurt to walk it does hurt to walk up or down stairs or to do even quite low impact aerobics. The trouble is I'm not earning enough bonus points just with the walking that I'm doing.

LunarSea · 25/01/2005 11:09

swimming? Or any aquarobics near you?

bran · 25/01/2005 11:15

Only two problems with swimming (I actually have a pool in my building but have never used it).

  1. I would have to do something about my bikini line

  2. The chlorine really kicks off my psoriasis - I mean really nasty, flaking everywhere and raw underneath (yeuch)

FineFigureFio · 25/01/2005 11:48

poor you bran with the psoriasis

how about cycling? i have to be careful of knees too as they are so mobile. Also those little trampoline things are suppossed to be good. What is aquaaerobics like? i fancy going buit dont know if it will be too strenuous, or am i being a wimp

suprisingly I lost 2 1/2 lb today. thats 8lb in 2 weeks

PuffTheMagicDragon · 25/01/2005 13:00

Oooh, well done fff, with meals out too!

Evesmama - I'm weighing myself at home each Tuesday. For some reason, I seem to have the discipline to do this now, instead of going to a club. Not sure why, as I certainly don't feel more disciplined generally!

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 13:08

well done fffsee what a bit of positive thinking can do

puff, when are you getting weighed today???i do it on the morning so i havent eat anythingoh yes and after ive been to loo

Evesmama · 25/01/2005 13:08

and (puff) i cant do the clubs and for the first time ever seem to be able to do it myself..hurray for us

PuffTheMagicDragon · 25/01/2005 18:03

I always weigh myself first thing on a Tuesday, after I've been to the loo and without attire!

MrsBigD · 25/01/2005 18:27

FFF well done!

PTMD - most definitely weigh-ins have to be first thing in the morning and with no attire to get the accurate picture (in my case facing AWAY from the mirror )
