Two week kick-start

CourtneeLuv · 25/07/2022 07:10

Hi, I've been messing around lately, and not lost anything, have even put on. I have around 3st to go, already lost 3st.

I have an event in two weeks, and am going to try to get back in the zone and lose some bloat to try to feel good in my outfit. I'll keep it going past the two week mark too.

Anyone want to join me?

Starting weight 182lbs
Goal weight 133lbs
(my scales are in pounds)

Well done, isn't that less than half an ounce? I'd class that as 160 💪

Water is absolutely the game changer, I think I haven't drunk enough some days and that's why I've been more peckish.

I'm not going to have any carbs or cheats this weekend so hopefully I'm not up too much on Monday. I might stick to an eating window too.

So yesterday I had some pancetta (the thin pork belly) and homemade cauliflower tortilla. This one had mushrooms as well as onion in it too. A bit of coleslaw topped with those crispy salad onions.

This morning I'm 185.4, so up 0.6 lbs according to my app.

I guess a certain amount of gain is to be expect after eating following a fast and the key is to not binge is you undo your efforts during the week.

I ate high calorie foods for dinner last night and alcohol so expecting a spike on the scales this morning.

CourtneeLuv · 05/11/2022 07:41

Sorry, 185.2

I'm always about 3lbs up two days after drinking then it takes about 3 to 4 days to get back to where I was 🤬 hopefully your night was worth it though 🥳 when my dh was here I was starting to get into the habit of a couple of wines on a Friday and was a bit worried I'd want to get a bottle but the fasting stopped that in its tracks 💪

Yes a gain is inevitable but I'm going to stick to an eating window and keep my carbs low. I'm really hoping by being higher protein low carb, I don't have to keep the calories ultra low but that's what the last couple of years have looked like now, I have to calorie count with it too 🙄

160.8

Surprised not to see more damage from yesterday. Wonder if it will be delayed so will try to keep breakfast (just coffee anyway) and lunch light.

CourtneeLuv · 05/11/2022 11:10

Wow that's good, hopefully it's not delayed 🤞

I'm planning on salad for lunch and camembert for dinner.

OP posts:
christmas2022 · 07/11/2022 07:45

Haven't had Camembert for ages. Hope you enjoyed.

I love the weekends but it's also nice once they're over so I can refocus on weight loss.

163lb this morning which is the hangover for overeating and alcohol from the weekend.

Loads of water this week, coffee for breakfast, light lunch (low carb where possible) and healthy dinner with protein and veg is the plan.

Hoping to be below 160lb by Friday.

christmas2022 · 07/11/2022 07:45

6 weeks till Christmas right? So could be half a stone lighter by then. Would be nice.

CourtneeLuv · 07/11/2022 08:14

Yes I would. 187.1lbs today for me.

I didn't have the camembert!

I didn't have the greatest weekend. I had:

Friday:

Pancetta/pork belly, cauliflower tortilla, coleslaw and crispy onions.

Saturday:

Frikadellen, cherry tomatoes, cucumber.

Coleslaw and pork crunch.

30g sugar free dark chocolate.

Roast chicken skin.

Cesar salad, no crutons, chicken, coriander, cherry tomatoes, cucumber.

The rest of the pork crunch.

Sunday:

Frikadellen.

2 small coke zero and a hot chocolate at the pub.

Chorizo, olives.

More frikadellen, mushrooms, padron peppers.

So a lot of salt and processed food. No bread etc though! Not enough water.

I'm not fasting 5 days this week. I've got a crusty sore bit in the corner of my mouth even though I've been taking vitamins so going to get some baby spinach today. I've got an avocado and eggs so I'll have that for dinner.

OP posts:
christmas2022 · 07/11/2022 10:39

Sounds like a good plan. You're only a couple of pounds from the end of your last fast so that's isn't too bad.

Let's have a good week.

CourtneeLuv · 07/11/2022 14:53

Lets do it 💪

I was out earlier this afternoon and stopped at mcdonalds to use the toilets, I was very tempted to get a cheeseburger happy meal but I didn't, I walked straight out!

OP posts:
ThirdTimeIsTheCharm · 07/11/2022 18:12

I don't think you should repeat the 5 day fast again. It is not doing anything. You have been doing this soft low carb for a while, and I would suggest you swap to a Mediterranean diet for the rest of November and see if it suits you better, because you are worse off now than when you started.
Reduce the meats and eggs, and cut the processed foods. Bring in some lentils, a few tablespoons of whole grains ,
Baby spinach is a great way to start.
You have put so much effort and such a consistency in this, but it is not working. Keep the effort and change the content.

CourtneeLuv · 07/11/2022 19:30

It's not working because I keep going off track over the weekend. And my husband was here for 6 weeks.

I was really tempted to have a drink tonight but didn't. I had an omelette and salad for dinner.

OP posts:
ThirdTimeIsTheCharm · 07/11/2022 21:42

Then the question becomes : what makes you go off track on the weekend? and you need something that works with a husband present.
There will be a weekend every five days and unless you divorce, there will be a husband.
Since your current plan doesn't work with either or both of these variables, it isn't a good plan, no matter how many fast-resets you do, and it seems they leave you heavier anyway.
If you can't stick to a plan, it is not a good plan.

Try something different.

CourtneeLuv · 08/11/2022 06:21

Fasting isn't just for weight loss. It's for health benefits too. I rekon I started the first fast at about 200lbs so it has worked overall. Of course 2-3 days of eating will make you weigh more than on the day you haven't eaten for 5 days.

I need to make better choices but I'm not a robot, and I'm not eating any bread, chips, pastries, crisps, sweets, McDonald's etc, no wine, so other than the processed frickadellen, this weekend hasn't been that bad. Yes my weight is up but it of course it will be.

I also had 2 coke zero's though and that puts my scales up.

OP posts:
christmas2022 · 08/11/2022 07:58

Back to 160.8 this morning so the weekend spike has subsided quickly.

I just looked back to the start of this thread and I think I've lost about 12lb now.

I finally finally found the motivation to have a little jog yesterday and did 2.5m. Average pace was 12:05. Yes it's slow but i compared to my runs over the last couple of years and that actually the quickest I've done. Must be down to the weight loss as I felt less heavy. Which is why I stopped running in the first place.

Need to keep going as I believe I can get below that 160 mark this week.

Thinking about a no alcohol weekend also but that's a stretch for me.

CourtneeLuv · 08/11/2022 10:00

Oh well done! 👏

OP posts:
CourtneeLuv · 08/11/2022 18:26

So I've had a better day diet wise so far but could do with a drink!

I've had
a cesar salad, no crutons, and a yoghurt.
a few bits of pork crunch and alioli
for dinner i'm going to have baked camembert and padron peppers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and maybe some cauliflower and have it as kidn of fondue. I was going to leave the camembert in the fridge until my DH gets back but its starting to smell so I want it out of my fridge. It will be high calorie but no carbs so hey ho.

I had a mammogram today (I've got private health cover, and not in the UK) and the dr was looking at it and asked me when I had the last one and something about an ultrasound so i got the paperwork out and asked if there was something there so he said yes. I said the last one showed something and i had an ultrasound and it was nothing. So i said look at the disc the other hospital gave of the mammogram last year (I had it somewhere else) so he did and showed me an area and then showed me the latest one and it was much more defined and he said its probably a cyst as they can come and go with hormones so I said I haven't got any hormones, I'm nearly post meno (early) so he got straight up and said come through, and he did the ultrasound and its only a cyst thank god. But those few minutes were quite scary and I haven't got any, and i'm off drink at the moment so I won't but i really wouldn't mind a glass of wine or two this evening.

I have to take the resluts to the GP on Thursday and she'll probably prescribe HRT - she wanted the mammogram first - so god know what that will mean for my weight now, i'll be one of the unlucky ones that it makes gain weight 🙄

OP posts:
christmas2022 · 09/11/2022 04:03

Sounds like you've had quite the experience today. Well done in getting checked out though and pleased you were able to have the ultrasound straight away, what a relief.

How long are you off the alcohol for?

CourtneeLuv · 09/11/2022 05:46

Pretty much for good. I'll have a couple at special occasions but I intend not to go back to having alcohol in my lifestyle. I'll get a bottle of baileys for Christmas week, and maybe a couple of bottles of wine, for Christmas day and NYE and then get back on the wagon on the 1st.

I'm also in two minds not to get the celebrations/heroes/roses/quality street tubs that we normally get. But then I think it's Christmas, you've got to treat yourself at Christmas, but then I think we need to change what we see as treats. So maybe lots of cheeses and a serrano ham instead.

christmas2022 · 10/11/2022 07:55

159.4 today which is 11st 5.4lb

Haven't been that weight in many years.

I do have a heavy dinner tonight and I will also have pudding so expect this will be short lived but I'll get back there.

christmas2022 · 11/11/2022 07:38

160.4lb today up slightly as suspected.

Going to only have a drink tomorrow and not to excess, will only be a couple.

I do have a curry and lunch out on the agenda this weekend. Life still needs to go on so I will enjoy rather than feel the guilt and continue to make the good choices where I can.

CourtneeLuv · 11/11/2022 10:31

190lbs today.

Started hrt today, yay 🙄

Not sure what's on the me u today, I've got a cesar salad in the fridge so might get some chicken.
