Hi all. Still stuck around 15 and a half stone. Going to try and avoid sausages, chips and pizza this month as this seems to be the cause of no loss and cut down on a bit of alcohol too. Increasing soup production also. Have been having the supermarket chunky ones but going to try have more homemade as more water content. Helps quite a bit when I keep forgetting to drink water.

BeyondMyWits · 02/07/2022 17:26

I make pepper and carrot soup whenever I need a pick-up. One teaspoon of oil, soften onion, 2 yellow/orange peppers, 4 big carrots, a potato and add a pint of water and a stock cube. Boil til soft then blitz. The "kids" (19+21) call it magic soup as it makes them feel better if they are ill.🥰

ClinkeyMonkey · 02/07/2022 23:02

Ah, there you all are! Just sticking my head in. Thanks for the new thread @poorpaws.

poorpaws · 03/07/2022 07:40

Pleased you found us @ClinkeyMonkey

An easy day planned for today. If the sun ever comes out I'm sitting in the garden. I don't think we relax enough, always a job to do, it's exhausting. I'll walk the dogs to make sure they're tired and I get my 10,000 steps (at least), then relax (although I say this regularly and never do it).

I hope everyone has a sunny, relaxing Sunday.

@BeyondMyWits that soup sounds lovely, I'm going to have to it.

BeyondMyWits · 03/07/2022 08:03

Morning all... I wish I could relax @poorpaws ...

we are in the process of kids moving back home for uni summer break. Why do they have so much stuff and where are we going to put it? We only have a 1 room +kitchen downstairs and 2 beds + box room+bathroom upstairs and now have to fit in 2 extra rooms worth of stuff... AND our 2 girls.... last one home today.

Daft really that we didn't preplan for this, but we'll squeeze it all in somehow. We spent yesterday filling plastic crates and putting them in the garage. Still... it is exercise.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Readytostartagain · 03/07/2022 08:49

You’re doing great @BeyondMyWits. Post holiday weigh in and 2lbs on which given the eating is better than I expected so my target for July is 4lb. Day of washing, supermarket etc today but will try and do my steps and some gentle yoga later. Hope everyone has a great day

poorpaws · 03/07/2022 09:14

@Readytostartagain only 2 lbs on after a holiday, I'd count that as a miracle. 4 lbs off should be very doable in July.

Room for a not so wee one ?

I have at least 4 stone to lose and just seem to get bigger every year. It is actually making me not want to do social things as I feel so crap about myself.

I need all the help I can get , will make a meal plan today and more importantly a snack.plan. snacking is my downfall (and booze)

Mumstheword2022 · 03/07/2022 10:16

Yippee found the new thread!

so, have hovered around starting weight (11st 11) forever and even gone back over 12 st at one point but, as of twenty mins ago when I braved the scales , I am now 11st 9!

think that’s 3 down from start and less than I have been in five years!

well motivated now!

July target will be to get to 11st 7.

nice two pound please!

porridge and prunes for breakfast. Yum 🤤

Always room here for anybody... snacking was my downfall too. Now I just don't very often.

First took the decision to not snack before 11am... breakfast should last that long... then just moved my line through the day. Small steps. It's working.

Thank you , I like that idea .

I made the mistake of telling dh yesterday that i was thinking of cutting out carbs to get some control back . He is now being 'helpful' and talking to me about it. He is lovely but he is very fit and a perfect weight and misses the whole emotional eating issue side of things. I feel like I am failing before I have even started.

TalkToTheHand123 · 03/07/2022 12:27

1/3 of the way through a 12 hour shift. A tub of strawberries and grapes and 2 tubs of homemade soup down with 3 tubs of homemade soups to go. (Replacing the shop's chunky soup). Hoping to notice a difference on the scales by next weekend.

Theredjellybean · 03/07/2022 13:30

i am also half way through 12 hr shift and have eaten 9 rowntree jelly tots , 4 chocolate biscuits, an apple and 100 mls of sem skimmed mil.
which is 489 calories out of my daily 1200...blah.....
no exercise today , not sure what is wrong with me..but last week have litteraly never felt so tired , real bone shattering fatigue, heavy limbs and just cannot get up to exercise in the morning which is so unlike me..i actually enjoy it !
I am currently juggling 3 jobs and working 6 / week and last 4 weekends have not been home at all as on uni open day massoooovie road trips and then work the other weekend day.
possibly may be i need to stop ! but just 6 more days of working after today then a whole week off with my dd2 and my dsd2....going to fly and flop ( well probs not flop as i am incapable of flopping...but will do some stuff that is not work..play tennis, sail , yoga in sun)

scales at 71.9 again today so it was no fluke

Theredjellybean · 03/07/2022 13:31

@Fatasbuggery welcome.....

poorpaws · 03/07/2022 17:17

@Fatasbuggery welcome and keep posting, we can counteract your DH, I think most all of us are emotional eaters. By the time we've finished supporting you you'll have to change your username to Thinasbuggery. 😀

I've already had dinner (a bit early) so off to eat some fruit salad.

poorpaws · 03/07/2022 17:23

@Theredjellybean yayy no fluke, well done. I hope the next 6 days go quickly so that you can relax a little, you're doing an awful lot.

@TalkToTheHand123 you're doing so well. Strawberries (and raspberries) are my favourite fruit and are lovely at this time of year. I buy loads, it's easier to diet now than in winter I think.

Thank you, I have had a chat with him and said I am going to definitely eat less carbs but not strict no carb .
It was good to have an honest chat with him about it and I know it wont magically fix it but it is nice to say how I really feel.

The main thing is not to do what I normally do which is go full on for a few days and then fall off the wagon and not get back on as I feel so disheartened.

triplecheeese · 03/07/2022 20:13

Well this is a lovely upbeat thread to catch up on while nursing the sick (again) baby. This poor boy has been in the wars, he must have been sick every month since he was born.

@BeyondMyWits @Mumstheword2022 @Theredjellybean Your July motivation and progress is catching though I'm starting on Wednesday as it's my birthday on Tuesday and the celebrations started this weekend but I weighed in on 1 July at 67.5kg, juuuuust a smidge below 10st 9lbs, so hoping to reach the magic 10st 7lbs on 31 July!

@poorpaws im glad to hear you are on the mend. What a horrible experience, you really have had a rough few months and have just ploughed through it, you must be kind to yourself. ❤️ we are all thinking of you and sending you powerful vibes!

Loving the cosmic shopping list @anybloodyname. I'd like to return this lifetime supply of Self Sabotage please, it doesn't suit me any more.

@TalkToTheHand123 when I joined this thread my first goal was to get back into the habit of cooking nutritious meals. We defo still have our takeaways but this thread's support helped me get started. A goal at a time and you're smashing it already.

@Fatasbuggery It's a tough one isn't it! My DH keeps saying he wants to increase exercise and improve diet but he's all or nothing so it's couple of days of lentils and salad and then a massive Burger King and ice cream blowout. Moderation is not his watchword and it's disruptive to my efforts to get balanced dinners in us.

KBO everyone xx

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 03/07/2022 23:18

Glad to hear that plenty of people have had their oomph return!! Mine is hovering close by but sadly not as close as the Nutella

@Fatasbuggery I posted a lot on the last thread about my social anxiety - my DTs are almost 7 now and I've lost such a lot of 'me' since they were born, partly physical problems after the birth, but mostly because DP was completely unhelpful and unsupportive. I very very rarely go out in the evenings (maybe once a year) as he's so terrible at doing bedtimes, my friends have stopped inviting me to places as I always said no. It's now at the point where I feel like I'm too fat to go out (I know that's ridiculous and they wouldn't care - but that's how I feel!), my social skills and confidence have plummeted and I can't see my self esteem getting any better until I lose a substantial chunk of weight. I have 50lb to lose Shock

@triplecheeese I was up all night with a vomiting DTS2 - hope your baby is better soon!

H1Drangea · 04/07/2022 07:01

Sneaking back on to rejoin ( started on the May , I think , but stress of big house move took over , still hopefully moving , still stressed ) and I’ve managed to put on another 2lb , taking me to 11st 13 this morning

So , mini goal lose 6 lb in July ( starting today , as yesterday we went to the seaside and it was a pasty and icecream sort of day , then home for a roast )
lots of steps , lots of fresh air and sunshine even more carbs and calories

I’m planning on lowish carbing , as I know bread is my downfall , my ideal day is
b toast
l cheese on toast
d macaroni cheese
there’s some greens missing I think !
let’s see how today goes , it won’t be as above !

BeyondMyWits · 04/07/2022 07:47

Morning all... weighed in one pound lighter!! That oomph is working...

15st 12lb (still fifteen not sixteen....yay!!)

Do you know what I find really liberating on this thread. Being able to simply state my weight. Feels comfortable, not like in real life where, to be honest, even my husband doesn't know it!

Good luck all.

poorpaws · 04/07/2022 07:48

@triplecheeese so sorry to hear your little one isn't well and I hope he gets better very soon Bear little teddy for him.

Weigh day! At last, I've got a loss woo hoo! From last Monday (official weigh day for me) I've lost 2 1/4 pounds but from Friday, the 1st of July (start of July challenge) I've lost 1 1/4 pounds. Either way it's a loss at last and I must remember how lovely it feels on the Monday morning to see the number go down instead of how I've been feeling for weeks when yet again I've gained and feel bad about it. I'm still well behind my diet twin @triplecheeese.

I'm looking forward to hearing your results for the ones who weigh on Monday like me and I hope it's a loss for everyone. Since part two of this thread we seem to be getting far more positive so hopefully we'll all start doing really well.

Happy Monday for all.

Oh heck I forgot to refresh the page so I missed the last few posts (I do this constantly 🥴)

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl Your post made me so sad and I'd love to help you but I'm lost for words. You are so lovely and you need to go out a bit more in the evenings. It doesn't need to be a lot but maybe once every three months to start. Your friends would be delighted, I know I would be. You are funny and kind but worn down. Please think about what I've said.

@H1Drangea Welcome back, lovely to have you here again. I've been failing miserably whilst you've been away so we are both starting again. Stay with us, loads of us have our oomph back since the new thread.

@BeyondMyWits Well done, you go girl. So pleased you feel able to tell us your weight but more importantly it's going down. I see 14st zone on the horizon.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I hope your son is feeling better too. He's a bit big for a teddy, maybe Football?
