@ClinkeyMonkey that's why they are slim do you think? I also know people who "forget to eat", how alien is that, how can you possibly forget to eat. And then there are people who can go many, many hours between meals. I wake up and think about breakfast immediately. These people are very weird as far as I'm concerned and nothing like me.

Can I please join too? Literally the biggest I have ever been and so down about it. Food is my emotional crutch yet I can't seem to stop.

Mumstheword2022 · 10/07/2022 13:10

Yeah maybe @poorpaws !

i don’t feel very frightening at the moment!

have had a very nice chicken salad and some strawberries 🍓 for lunch

still hungry!

I have a friend who often claims to not feel hungry. Pretty much anything can trigger this. I have no understanding and, like others in here, will always eat everything on my plate and others if they let me!

have people staying next week so we have been indoors all day changing beds and stuff and now I am in the garden I have decided I am not going back in! It’s scorchio 🌞

ooh meant to recommend Aldi’s mini milks. Only 30 calories - really?!? They are enough to give you a quick sweet fix.85p!
Whilst their i also bought their diet Lilt. It’s called Tropical Blast and is lovely and only 1.29 for six. Bargain

maybe we could share some ideas for ready to eat quick low calorie food/snacks?

poorpaws · 10/07/2022 13:27

Good idea @Mumstheword2022 Every day I have an Aldi milk popcorn bar (80 calories), it just makes me think I'm eating chocolate (very thin layer underneath the popcorn).

I'm here but keeping a little quiet so as to not jinx myself .. will weigh tomorrow and hoping for 2-3 lb off as have been bloody starving really good with salad , protein and no treats 😩🤨🤭

anybloodyname · 10/07/2022 13:49

@VioletPickles would the couch to 5k or the NHS lose weight app be any good to you ?
They are free and very popular

Mumstheword2022 · 10/07/2022 14:08

@anybloodyname Might have another look at the nhs app. Can run but haven’t for maybe a year? Used to regularly run ten miles…

maybe I should just crack on with that again

BeyondMyWits · 10/07/2022 14:15

Haha @poorpaws my own daughter, willowy ... slender and tall sometimes says "when's dinner... I forgot lunch..." and she doesn't generally eat more than a single digestive biscuit for breakfast. I never "forgot" lunch ever... not once.

poorpaws · 10/07/2022 14:44

@BeyondMyWits my daughter can't be bothered with food (her words), she wishes she could just take a pill and be fed. If I hadn't been present at the birth and manic about her being swapped with another baby, I would swear she isn't mine. She weighs 8 sets.

poorpaws · 10/07/2022 14:44

Stones obviously.

OP posts:
poorpaws · 10/07/2022 14:47

Oh yes and she can eat one finger of a kitkat and leave the rest for later. Sometimes "later" is a month or two later 🥴

triplecheeese · 10/07/2022 14:59

Well. Tomorrow is a new week. I hopped on the scales on 6th and was 67.25kg and thrilled with that, but I've been all over the place since. Work is manic, baby's not settling at nursery, house sale prep is chaotic, I've had some very upsetting family news (not trying to be mysterious but actually don't want to be a gloomster and whinge more than I already do) and to top it all it's HOT. We are in the south east and DH becomes a six foot toddler when the temp cracks 20. We actually had a standup row in the estate agents and we never argue (that he knows about) 😂 I felt like a stereotype harridan from a play

One thing all this stress causes is... more eating! I am absolutely with @poorpaws food is my first thought in any mood and I've never not been hungry.

@VioletPickles, I do almost all my workouts at home and have had to do low impact for years cos of prolapse (thanks DS1). I don't just have one app I use but have a look fitness blender - they have things like "five day workout plan for busy people" which means less than 30 mins, and they have low impact versions. Yoga with Adrienne has 30 day free programmes. If you're a member of Better gyms, they have free home workouts on their app. Jillian Michaels and Davina McCall have progressive workout plans on YouTube - though Jillian has jumps (did you even say you wanted low impact? I now can't remember... brain not working, send help and/or ice cream)

triplecheeese · 10/07/2022 15:03

@VioletPickles you did say low impact, I'm not going mad. Try fitness blender, they're free and the choice is massive.

I want to try proper intermittent fasting as 7am-7pm actually seems to work for me, but I just can't see my way to pushing back eating in the morning. The kids get me up before 6 and I just HAVE to have coffee and then half the breadbin. Is it just as simple as half an hour later every day until I'm not eating til lunch? Does black coffee count as breaking a fast?

endlesswashing · 10/07/2022 15:54

Hi everyone old and new

I have never forgot about eating, I love food, eating it and talking about it!

I'm in the SE and think I'm really going to struggle with the weather this week coming. I love the summer but we are currently living in an apartment which is in the eves and its already been so so so hot in here. No private garden but we do have outside space to use that has plenty of shade. Sadly no access to an outside tap so no paddling pool for DC (or me) which is a shame.

Hope everyone has a comfortable week as possible.
Will be weighing in tomorrow, I'll see if I've been able to undo the gain from last weekend.

threecupsofteaminimum · 10/07/2022 23:29

Can I join. I sometimes manage to lose 3 or 4lbs when I follow MFP but then I can't help myself and end up stuffing whatever I want and it goes straight back on.

It's self control, definitely not helped by my hormones which affect my appetite dreadfully.

If I could just lose 8-10 lbs I'd fit into my clothes nicely but I'm 45 and it's so difficult to shift the belly flab and bloat!

H1Drangea · 11/07/2022 06:02

I’m another one with DD who’s willowy , and beautiful , she does try to eat healthily , never eats breakfast , drinks too many cocktails when out on the razz , but like most at her age is busy living her best life and making up for nearly 2 years of being stuck at home with us !

Anyway , back to the scales this morning , and 2 lb down
11st 11 lbs

Popping to Tesco with a shopping list and planning nice salads all week
watched Saturday kitchen , and planning this for tonight
saturdaykitchenrecipes.com/saturday-kitchen-recipe/murgh-kay-tikkay-or-murgh-tikka/
our greenhouse is overrun with lettuce at the moment , trying to eat some every days , it’s actually really nice , so fresh

let’s enjoy the heatwave , and remember to keep our fluids topped up (as we learnt up thread it doesn’t have to be plain old tap water ! )

poorpaws · 11/07/2022 08:05

Welcome @threecupsofteaminimum hope you enjoy our friendly, supportive thread.

@H1Drangea well done, thats such a good loss in one week. Keep up the good work and keep eating the 🥬.

I've lost 1.25 lbs, not great and I had to work very hard at it to get there but it is still a loss (I expected at least 2lbs) so I am quite pleased. It would be nice to lose a bit more next week but at least I'm chiselling away at my weight bit by bit.

Very good luck to those weighing today.

BeyondMyWits · 11/07/2022 08:42

Morning all... weigh in jitters this morning, but... one pound lighter again.... 15 st 11 now... that is overall nine pounds down...so far! and it still starts with a fifteen I have to remind myself of that as I feel like I'm just plodding along a pound at a time.

well done @poorpaws, You've had a tricky few weeks and turned it around. Every bit helps!

And good luck all those with a Monday weigh in.

endlesswashing · 11/07/2022 09:02

Morning

I've not quite managed to loose the 2lbs I put on last weekend sadly but I've lost 1lb so not all bad. In total I'm down 10lbs from the end of April 😁

@H1Drangea I love fresh veggies from the garden they really do taste so much nicer. I'm hopeless with plants but my parents are avid home growers. My childhood was filled with lots of wonderful fresh veg.

Plenty of fluids and salad for the endlesswashing household this week too.

poorpaws · 11/07/2022 11:04

@BeyondMyWits and @endlesswashing well done on the losses. We all seem to have found our oomph again and we have to keep reminding ourselves slow to lose, slow to regain the weight. I always find with these quick fixes I put it back on just as fast or even faster than I lost it.

TalkToTheHand123 · 11/07/2022 11:14

I was feeling a bit lighter this morning and thought I'd try the scales to find out if I had managed to get under the 15 stone mark, but it was 't to be. A chocolate bar, noodles and some ice cream probably didn't help, but I'd probably have been near the 16 stone mark if not for the 7 tubs of soup 😂 and tummy a lot more settled the last few days.

Just made another batch for the next couple of days.

Positivelypatient · 11/07/2022 11:56

Hello all, hope you are all coping ok in the heat - I am stuck in the office until Thursday - the fan is already doing overtime and once the sun comes around the building this afternoon it will be baking in here.

Weigh in today, -3lb which I am pleased about. Have IF'd all week until the weekend, which I spend with DP and I dont ever have any luck sticking to my IF fasting hours or, the low carb options in those two days. Back to it today though.

My goal to keep to 10k steps last week only managed 4 days - Fri, sat, sun was sadly lacking although I was out and about and active most of the days.

Salad and some ryvita with pate for lunch which I am really looking forward to. Also some fancy morrisons houmous with paprika chickpea topping - ver-fancy!

MamaSquealus · 11/07/2022 12:55

Hi all ☺️

Sorry I haven’t been back to update sooner, I had a weird week handing in my notice in order to be a stay at home mum…not something I’d ever thought I’d do! I feel both relieved and strange.

Anyway, my anxiety over the situation translated into eating everything in sight for a week, so I’m really annoyed at myself for that, but I’m back on track today…so far…and thankfully, my weight seems to have stayed the same despite my ridiculous behaviour last week…but Christ, do I look puffy!! Water retention is not in any way helped by sugar or salt 😬

So! I’m back to having a green smoothie and a ginger shot for breakfast, followed by poached salmon salad for lunch, and a chicken/tofu stir fry for dinner. It does get relentlessly boring, but I’ve found this is a really straightforward way of controlling calorie intake, getting in all the omega oils for reducing inflammation, and having plenty of protein and fibre, without too many carbs…if I spend less time thinking about food then I tend to stay on track.

Hope everyone’s doing ok in this heat! It’s so uncomfortable 🥵

CanadianJohn · 11/07/2022 13:37

Monday morning check-in, mid 170's, about the same as usual.

Thanks for your suggestions, @poorpaws , but I'm beyond help. A recent MRI for my lumbar spine reported chronic this, acute that, and degenerative something else. Today, it even hurts to sit.

Good thing I like reading and staring into space.

anybloodyname · 11/07/2022 15:55

I've lost 2lbs which was slightly disappointing , feel I've sweated more than that in last few days .. but it's still a loss so I'll take it
