Sorry for not posting regularly need to do better! Keeps me accountable
Mostly been doing well...until today when yo! Sushi bit me on the arse! Although...just totted up cals and less than 1000 and everything else I've had today tots up to under 1600 cals which is usually fine for me, might feel I've overdone it as one huge meal rather than 3 smaller ones
Been as low as 13 st 3 in past week but tonight 13 st 6
Will aim to get that couple lbs off before wow!
Nsv - size 18 jeans now baggy on me! Nice as an nsv annoying in terms of kept having to readjust them!
Definitely on an almond/nuts kick rather than crisps, even though technically more calories I think that they are helping and are healthier
@SunshineCake fluid retention in the medical sense is where the fluid stays in the cells in the body and isn't properly drawn out by the kidneys to be passed to the bladder and peed out. Lots of different reasons this can happen.
And I agree, some days we are more hungry than others that's normal
As mentioned before endo here and bloating could be a real issue, when I was slim I could look normal one day and 5 months pregnant the next!
What I really don’t like about the book though is how some posters on MN seem to have turned it into gospel.
Yes this seems to happen on mn, certain people won't hear that their belief may be incorrect or just work for them when it comes to weight loss/healthy eating. There's one poster who thinks nobody over the age of 5 should drink milk!
I'm old enough (as several of us on thread are) to have seen weight loss fads come and go several times before. I remember carbs being "evil" late 70's and potatoes written off as "fattening" then it was all fat was bad for you and eggs were demonised! Now we're back to carbs again. When ultimately it comes down to cals in v cals out, there are some nuances for individuals but that is basically how it works.
I'm very against meal replacement as it's not healthy, not real food or nutrition and not sustainable, they also tend to be sweet tasting which means the users palates become more attuned to wanting sweet tasting food.
@Flowers111 I agree emotions are a huge factor in over eating, I think it's outrageous that under eating is recognised as a Mh issue but over eating is not. My experience of ww was very much that most members had emotional reasons why they over ate, I would say 80-90% also had some trauma in their past usually some form of childhood abuse. Discussed this with the leader on occasion, she had much more experience than me of course and she said she's amazed there's not more research into links between child abuse and over eating.
A lot of members would be clinically obese and clearly a few oil free recipes were not going to help them.
Don't agree with this. The weight didn't go on overnight it isn't going to come off overnight and lower cal recipes and eating ARE precisely how to lose the weight. It's no different for those of us who are obese than it is for those with less weight to lose to reach a healthy weight. It just takes us longer.
I find alcohol the worst for causing food cravings
That's cos it fucks with the pancreas/blood sugar levels I also struggle with this
@GonnaGetGoingReturns re snacks - plan for the snack attack with low cal options in your bag. I've treated myself to a new cool bag from primark which I am planning to use for town trips. I also have a new larger handbag for cinema and I take my own popcorn and other low cal treats instead of buying the cinema high cal ones (cheaper too!)
@Benjispruce4 wishing you a full and speedy recovery
@CrimsonAlligator - a belated happy anniversary
I also used to do meditation/mindfulness thinking I need to try it again
but my favourite is a black silk one (no intentionally kinky)
Love that comment! I've a few sleep
masks too but must admit were originally bought for ... non sleep purposes
