Oh no Gen. Another trip down there?

i started slim fast this morning. God it was sweet. No fitness as have some elbow thing going on and fascist feet still.
tennis elbow I think.
food first

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/08/2022 10:31

Sorry I read properly it is another trip there.
weren’t you going home this week?

Gensola · 30/08/2022 11:15

Yes I’m due home to Belfast on 1st Sept. Will hopefully still go. Not if she dies though and I haven’t been home in 7 months

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/08/2022 13:31

Honestly Gen I hope you make it home but I understand you need to support dh

slim fast porridge was nice, I refuse to make porridge with water or use skimmed milk so on more than the 330 calories it has me at. Semi skimmed

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/08/2022 14:35

Yeah I failed at slim fast after 2 meals, too sweet and just can’t face it.
Will food back it

Gensola · 30/08/2022 15:25

life have you ever tried Huel? It looks similar but not as sweet maybe?

MIL is in a bad way but they won’t let us in cos covid - after driving 2 hours there!

lifelongfrugaleer · 30/08/2022 17:07

I looked at the Marcos as the people who had the house before us didn’t cancel the sub. Coffee flavor so dh tried it and declared it too sweet

sorry mills is so unwell and you can’t get in, bloody Covina still pft

Gensola · 31/08/2022 23:31

ememem84 · 01/09/2022 08:36

@Gensola i hope everything is ok with mil. Safe trip back to NI and have a lovely time xxx

@TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans sorry to hear about dm. Take care of you xxxx

gym this morning. DH has taken over my training. He used to be a PT.

so. Exercise every day. Better food choices. No snacks. No booze. He reckons I can lose 5kg easily in 13 weeks.

porridge with strawberries for breakfast. DH made it.

I did a “Brittney” treadmill workout this morning. Essentially someone online has done playlists which get you going. Depending on the song. Some you walk some you power walk some you catwalk walk some you jog and some you run. My fave is the catwalk supermodel walking. I felt like a bit of a twat. But so fun!

then three reps each of seated row (20kg) tricep pull downs (15kg) lat pull down (20kg) and then had a go in the squat rack. (New gym so need to test the equipment and make sure I know where everything is - did 10 squats x2 with no weight on the bar just to get comfortable).

Happierwithouthim · 05/09/2022 16:58

I didn't even complete one days mfp!

Great stuff em hope it doesn't lead to rows between ye Grin
gen enjoy trip, hope mil is ok

I became an auntie again last week, now have two lovely nieces

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/09/2022 18:31

I did not manage one day either but I’ve joined a gym for the year and got a pt to write me a fitness and nutrition program

Gensola · 05/09/2022 20:27

MIL still in hospital - she can’t go home because she’s immobile and unsafe as she won’t accept she’s immobile with the leg in the cast and is throwing herself all over the place. We are looking for respite care for her until the leg heals. Nightmare on top of the cancer diagnosis, feel so sorry for her even if she is very difficult.

food has been absolutely crap for days. Must do better. Only a week or so til my tonsil operation though, part of me thinks well I won’t be able to eat for days after that so why worry!

em your workout sounds hard core! I don’t think I could let DH train me 😂

life that sounds all very positive

happier congrats on your new niece 🥰

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/09/2022 06:19

She is so difficult but actually best off in hospital for now by the sounds of it
good luck finding the
don’t worry about food this week, try and be a good as poss and be kind to you and dh

ememem84 · 06/09/2022 06:50

To clarify DH isn’t actually at the gym with me. He just wrote things down. We did used to trai. Together but it ended up with him getting annoyed at me!

spinninv tonight. Class booked. I love spinning.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/09/2022 06:30

I did my 15k steps and ate well until biscuits

Gensola · 10/09/2022 08:37

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/09/2022 07:01

ive joined a fancy gym and paid for the year as cheaper, not tracking yet but trying to be mindful and try new classes . It’s the lunch mid afternoon snack i need to work on

TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans · 21/09/2022 16:38

Hope everyone is ok l haven't read the thread so please forgive me Flowers
It's been hellish here tbh, just coming out of the quagmire hopefully,
Suffice to say Mum has been through the mill, she had a clot on the lung, Pnuemonia, Pleural Effusions, Heart Arythmias and heart failure, followed up by a nasty dose of HAI Covid Hmm which we all caught , we are just getting over it now. Bob had a sort of mental breakdown/episode when Mum went into hospital, we were staying with him 24/7 while Mum was in hospital. One night while my Dd2 was staying with him, he started gathering rubbish on the patio and threatened to set fire to the house with her in it . Prior to this he had not seen his daughter or son for nearly 2 years . My daughter phoned my Mum up really scared because he had all the keys to the house , My Mum told her to tell him she had told her to go home . He ran away from her , she was searching the streets for him in her car this was 10.30 at night, he ended up at his daughters , she rang her brother , l was threatened with the police , you name it l was mud in their eyes. I have nothing to hide so l reported what had happened to the police myself. They were amazing tbf. They took over care of him for 1 day , just 1 day and they left him because they couldn't look after him any more they couldn't cope with him . Bob realised what he had done and came back to us but we do not stay with him all the time now , we go there to give him breakfast and lunch and supper and he is on his own overnight. His mental health has deteriorated since Mum has been in hospital though. He is seeing people in the garden and there is no one there . So to add to this the whole lot of us have contacted Covid after 2 and a half years of being negative Hmm
We are all ok but it's been like a dose of the flu tbh .
Anyway , with all this stress l ended up having atrial flutter and had to go into hospital on the 4th Sept , it was our 40th wedding anniversary HmmThey gave me one propanolol and it stopped after 30 mins and hasn't raised it's ugly head again thankfully , however l am wearing a 24 hr ecg monitor atm so we shall see what this says , have to go for an ECHO too . The cardiologist told me it was possible that this episode was a one off because of the enormous stress but he wanted to do all the tests to make sure. I went for a BP check and an ECG in my surgery yesterday which was normal thankfully.
Just waiting for Mum to be discharged home in a few days , she has made a remarkable recovery but she is weak and needs building back up again.
I don't know how l am going to manage her and Bob at home tbh but l will have to try my best and see how we get on .
I hope everyone is fine and taking care of yourselves , my weight has been the least of my problems as you can all imagine Grin

Gensola · 21/09/2022 17:10

@TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans Oh my god how horrendous, I’m so glad you are ok, we have missed you and been thinking of you! I am at home recovering from tonsil surgery, the tonsils were very large and badly infected so the wounds are bigger than they’d usually be and I’ve suffered a complication of surgery where they have damaged my lingual nerve in my tongue by clamping it too hard during intubation, so I have no feeling in the tongue at all and it is hard to speak properly. I’ve been feeling really poorly and stressed about work as there’s no way I can teach if my speech doesn’t come back. Lots of love and so glad you are back and that you are ok 💖💐
