Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

shh my mum is losing .5 - 1lb a week. but i know she doesnt stick to it 100%. but she gets really down about it as well.

Diege · 17/01/2008 21:13

LURCHER, I'm exactly the same when having a meal out; feel really deprived if I try to SW my choices, as I want to feel like I'm having a real treat! SHHH, agree with what others have said. At least you're heading in the right direction (and it'll be fat and not fluid you're losing)Does your SW consultant have one of those disgusting rubber bricks that represents 2Ibs of fat? Think of it as losing half of that (apologies if you don't know what I'm on about!).
Well, resisted the temptation of a macdonalds today, while dds tucked in! Just had a small diet coke, and think it really helped that I'd had beans on toast just a few hours earlier so not in the least bit hungry. I was sorely tempted by dd2's Munchies McFlurry though, esp when she shoved half of it in my direction ...oh the will power...
Oh and I've found a really satisfying use for those syns - ice-buns!!!! Only 7 syns according to the book (I'm closing my eyes to the possibility they might mean the mini-ones), so still room for a sneaky couple of rich teas on top! V. satisfying, what with the icing and the bread-y texture

Sparkler · 17/01/2008 22:02

Not been around much as back at work now. Jut wanted to say I am still around and haven't given up (yet!). 0.5lb off tonight. Not much but it's a loss.

everyones doing great!

The thing is about cornflakes - they dont have s much filling power as the foods that are on the plan and thats why theyre not included - because they dont fill you.. i would love a bowl of frosties bu im scared if i eat one bowl ill be hooked!

lentil curry is ace, ill trhow the recipe up after my fritatta which i think is sticking to the bottom of the pan but ill still eat ! Late eating bad habit im not normally into but its the wya today and yest have been

from memry the lentil curry is free on green apart from the stock (minimal anyway) so you can fil your boots (or stomach )

went for an hour 15 min walk tonight with my neighbour, so i usually walk a mile in 15 mins so its around 4-5 miles which im chuffed at. My skinnier jeans are on for tomorro night so its all worth it!

Fireflyfairy2 · 17/01/2008 22:46

Hi all, zippy you are a great help! Very enthusiastic

I haven't been bad today

2 boiled eggs for brekkie followed by some grapes

Snack: banana

Lunch was a tin of ravioli followed by a muller light

For dinner we had pasta with a sauce made from a tin of toms, tom puree, m'rooms, peppers, onions & garlic/herbs. With sliced bacon mixed through the sauce [HeB]

Then I had an hours spin class at 8-9 & afterwards I had 2 slices from a 400g wholemeal loaf [Heb] SO the only syns I have used today have been for the flora light I used on the toast

My sister joined a diff sw club last week & had 2.5lb off her, her friend had lost 5lb My sis was jealous! LMAO.. so I told her that she & I will compete to see who has the most off for summer...... Hopefully it will spur me on.

IndigoMoon · 17/01/2008 22:52

hello all x x x x x

well i weighed in for the first time since october and i have put on 4lb!!!

overall those my loss has been 20lb (clap clap clap)

anyway i have been very good

i need to lose 8lb and then i will be at what i think will be my target

zippychick · 17/01/2008 23:03

oh my fritatta god, that was awesome. First ever fritatta and it didnt stick ! Yummy, eat most of it and no syns used.....

Lentil curry

4 servings worth

2 tbsp water
large sliced onion
i tspn each of cumin , coriander, tumeric and chilli powder - or alternatively 1 tbsp of curry powder - NOT BOTH lol)
2 garlic cloves crushed
225g red lentils
750ml water
900g (2lbs) of mixed veg which can be - cauliflower, courgette, mushroom, okra, tomatoes, peppers, sweet potato , carrots, parsnips - any veg really)

Its great if you have remnants of veg left - you can usually make up the 900g quite easily. COuld also use potatoes but i havent tried potatoes. I usually use courgettes, carrots , peppers and tomatoes are nice too - and leeks!

Saute the onion in the 2 tbsp of water - you dont need to use oil, it will be ok without. Saute for 5 mins

Add the spices and garlic and saute another two mins

Add the lentils and 750ml of water . Cover and simmer for 10 mins - u will see the lentils have puffed up and it looks like a boring soup

Add the veg and mix WELL. It will look like you have too much veg but it goes down in size and works, ive cooked it a million times

I would then cook it on a low heat for about half an hour. Depends on the veg you use how long they take to cook.

Thats it ready. You can eat as much as you want, because theres no stock, this is syn free on Green. A full plate will fill you to the brim without using HEs. You could serve in a baked potato

I have a good few recipes here. If anyone wants just ask

I have

stuffed courgettes (free on either day), butter bean and tomato casserole (which is quite nice but sounds weird - free on green apart from some stock), pasta with lentil bolognese - free on green, pasta with tomato and veg sauce - free on green , mixed bean chilli - free on green, red kidney bean hotpot - free on green apart from stock and cornflour and red lentil dahl - free on green

I could go on! These recipes are from a book i have, im not a genius cook or anything

Misdee · 17/01/2008 23:56

whats a fittita?

zippychick · 18/01/2008 00:50

fritatta is a fancier omellete

Ummm.

Frying pan, chopped spring onions, some sweetcorn, peppers, and baby tomatoes - thats what i used, u can use what ever combo u like .

Fry in fry light for around 5 minutes until veg a bit tender but not cookd completely.

Put 3 eggs in a bowl and beat like you would for scrambled eggs. Throw in half a teaspoon of oregano/mix herbs/chili flakes etc and some black pepper- into the beaten egg .

Leaving the veg in the pan, spread out, pour the egg in and turn the heat down low.

Optional but not necessary - at this stage i added a HEa of cheese - grated finely and spread over the egg veg mix when in the frying pan.

Leave to cook for about 7 mins until the bottom seals.

pop it under a grill and leave until it goes a light brown colour . I did it low for about ten minutes i think - just keep an eye on it.

Slice and eat! I ate most of it warm with fried bacon, then just finihsed the last bit cold and it was gorgeous too.

Would be a good one to take to work too. You could put ham or bacon in when you add the egg. im sure i will be making many variations of this actually

Diege · 18/01/2008 07:12

ooh ZIPPY, brilliant idea about taking the fritttata to work! Might be the solution to my hubger pangs! We have a take-away lined up for tonight (it's my sod-it day )so will try and keep my HEBs to try to limit the damage caused by the naan bread! Iknow I am weak, but believe me if I sat there with left over rissoto while dh indulged, I would feel seriously deprived!
Weight-wise, I've realised that I'm in the stone that I want to be, although I did make the mistake last time I did the plan of wanting to tip into the end of the one below, if that makes sense!
Hmmm, eggs for breakfast I think!

Diege · 18/01/2008 07:13

INDIGO - same here, 8ib (ish) to target!

peachespaige · 18/01/2008 09:57

Hi Girls. Shhhh I know its frustrating. I lost 3lbs in my first week and Ive been naughty and weighed myself today (normal weigh in is Monday) and Ive lost 0.5lb so not likely Ill lose more than a pound this week. My friend is doing the mapel syrup thing that Beyonce did and has lost loads but she says shes only doing it to cleanse her body so isnt too worried if it goes back on. I have to say Im very jealous but couldnt not eat for a week!

peachespaige · 18/01/2008 10:04

I made special fried rice with egg and peas, sweetcorn, spring onion and chicken heb with soy sauce, it was lovely and without the chicken it would be free. Or you could use prawns etc. Very filling and nice hot or cold! Tip cook the rice and let it totally cool down before adding it to the pan with your lightly fried veg and then crack the egg and mix until it resembles egg fried rice!

Shhhh · 18/01/2008 14:47

thanks peaches . Fingers crossed for mon..

Not heard of the maple syrup diet..!!! Sound luurrvvlleeey .

peachespaige · 18/01/2008 16:06

Not really, you only drink this concoction for 10 days...no food!

missiesparkles · 18/01/2008 16:39

stayed the same, although I'd been really good. been a bit naughty this week, had tirimisu pudding... then got a bit tipsy last night and had some nachos BOOO!!

Diege · 18/01/2008 18:27

Mmm, tirimisu, I could eat that and nothing else for the rest of my life! Sounds like you enjoyed it and the nachos MISSISPARKLES anyway, and it's not as if you put ON any weight!
Well, blown it this afternoon by giving in to the girls left over oven chips, stuffed in a bread roll (that I convinced myself was my second HEB, having had 1.5 already)I think with me, if I know I have something 'dangerous' coming up ( take-away curry tonight) my mind sort of weakens rather than standing firm! Have also bought a cream egg for later too. In for a penny and all that!

Fireflyfairy2 · 18/01/2008 22:47

i have had a good day today again

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs & a handful of grapes.

Snacks: Apple, banana & an orange (yeah I was hungry!!)

Lunch: Home made soup, I added celery & some spaghetti (gorg!!)

Dinner was SW chips, a gammon steak (HEb) beans & a fried egg.

Another snack was a muller light with grapes & 2 slices of 400g wholemeal toast (HEb)

Am feeling pleased with myself tonight, hopefully I can keep it up the rest of the week.

Am thinking of doing the spring rolls & s&s chicken from the sw magazine this month, looks delicious

peachespaige · 19/01/2008 08:19

Morning all. Right if Ive exercised 3 times this week, class, gym and a jog, could that effect my weight loss? Surely the building muscle thing cant really apply to just one week of exercise?
I ask because instead of waiting until Monday Ive just weighed myself and have lost a pound (a pounds a pound I know) and I doubt Ill lose another between now and Monday. I usually lose 2 a week so slightly confused, also Ive been sticking to 5 syns a day and been very good.
Congrats on all the losses and those recipes sound lovely.

zippychick · 19/01/2008 16:40

PEACH - yes, even just a weeks worth could affect your loss

WHat you could do is get a pair of jeans that youre trying to get into and try them on every weigh day and write down how they feel , really tight etc so you can notice that way. MEasuring yourself is also good too so if you dont lose on the scales you still could have lost a couple of inches - which is great!

Fireflyfairy2 · 19/01/2008 17:09

Hi all

Peach, you have did well this week to make the 3 days exercise!

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs

Snack: plum & grapes

Lunch: soup left over from yesterday, mullerlight & some grapes & a banana

Dinner: I have made the spring rolls from the sw mag & they look delicious! I am going to make the beef & black bean sauce instead of the s&s chicken as I haven't got all the ingredients for that

Will let you know what it's like There are just 4 syns in the spring roll & the beef & bb sauce is low in syns too, using the beef as a HEb.

Diege · 19/01/2008 17:18

Just popping in to say hello . Agree PEACH that 3 times a week exercise is very impressive! It will certainly see you well on your way to reaching target Well, had my blow-out take-away, though was very restrained with portion size yet didn't feel deprived. Back on with it 100% today. I think for me the secret is making sure I have a HEB to 'fall back on' late afternoon/early evening, and not using them up by lunchtime. I wish they could be carried over sometimes to the next day (they can't, I asked ) although I have been known to have 6 syns instead of a HE, which technically works (so an ex-consultabnt told me) but is very much frowned upon by the SW fraternity

mamasara82 · 19/01/2008 17:57

I have been at SW since June and have only lost 1.5st. Its so annoting because I do try really hard plus I cycle to and from work 4 times a week (1hr a day). I have now bought ministry of sound ultimate dance work out and boy do you feel the effects. Hopefully I will lose this week rather than maintaining.
