Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

Hi. May I join in and lurk please?

I have been here before (many times actually, hi again lurcherlass. I was riabutterflew last time). I haven't read through yet, but will when I get time.

I aren't going to classes as we can't afford it just now (my DH is recovering from an op that means he can't work, and I had my DS3 in June last year), but am following SW at home from my books.

Good luck to everyone and well done on your losses so far

andyrobo237 · 15/01/2008 12:11

Afternoon - I need some ideas for lunches suitable for work on a red day - I have access to a microwave - no salad please!

Planned all this week and tucking into a pot noodle thing at the moment - roast chicken - it is fab and free!

Got a list of things to check online - onion os the password for this week!

lurcherlass · 15/01/2008 13:56

Hi Ria good to have you back. We're still missing Firefly and MammaG, where are you gals?

Shhhh · 15/01/2008 15:17

well done to the weight losses..keep it up.

Does anyone else just have one set day iykwim...RED OR GREEN day..?

I don't have green as I love red and find them easier..should I be mixing or is it personal choice.?

Andyrobo, how about the soups as on the HEB section..? Think there is heinz and baxters..?

Sunshine78 · 15/01/2008 15:19

I make a home made soup with loads of free vegetables only synn is the stock cube! I make loads in one go and freeze it in portions so handy for lunches when in a hurry.

nikkid21 · 15/01/2008 16:59

I tend to have eggs mostly for lunch on red days. You could take them to work hard boiled or scramble them in the microwave at work and add some slices of ham and raw veg.

MamaG · 15/01/2008 17:00

Im here

hevandrob · 15/01/2008 17:34

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me joining in, been doing slimming world for 3 years and need that kick again after a bad xmas!!

Just had some toffee popcorn from Sainsbury's - its there be good to yourself range and they come in multibags of 6 and are half price at the moment (56p i think).

Amazing how many you get in a bag and only 4 1/2 sins give them a try!!

katylou25 · 15/01/2008 18:26

OOh might try that popcorn hevandrob and welcome! I've been doing it for a year and am also struggling after xmas!

DH away at the moment so have been finding it hard not to pick in the evenings because I'm bored, and also can't do my usual swimming or anything as not got babysitters. Yesterday I ate 6 chock chip cookies - so have been better today to save stuff to eat this evening so far I've had...

breakfast - banana, yoghurt and toast (HEB)
lunch - 2 x potato waffles (3 syns), spag hoops and grated cheese (HEA) apple and grapes
snack - 2 satsumas
Tea - mushroom and spring onion omlette, sw chips and salad.

which leaves me one B and one A (cheese on toast perhaps...) and 7 syns for this evening ( curly wurly, lemon merinugue from m and s, crisps.... decisions decisions!!)

Misdee · 15/01/2008 18:48

i am stuffed. in a good way lol. am syn free so far today. i might have to find some choc later lol.

sugarlumps · 15/01/2008 19:19

hi all! not having a good day today seem to have had the munchies all day although i did well at work and munched through some mangetout and carrots not very satisfying though. got my week 2 weigh on thursday and i dont think i have lost this week. seems to have slowed down a lot now. but hey ho fingers crossed. just had one of those weigh watches frozen desserts, they are soooooo nice but i feel so bad now

lurcherlass · 15/01/2008 19:19

How you doin Mamma? Are we still trying to lose that 2lbs to make 2 stone lost? Only in my case it's now 5!! I'm going to weight Thursday...

MamaG · 15/01/2008 21:11

heehee me too lurcherlass, I put on 3lbs over christmas period, so 5 to lose to get that 2 stone mark (gah)

kid · 15/01/2008 21:14

I decided to have a takeaway for dinner tonight as we had lots of visitors and I didn't fancy cooking for all of them, (14 of us altogether).

I had Chicken Curry, Special Vermicelli, Chips and Curry sauce from the Chinese. I shared those with DH, I even gave him bigger portions than me! So, how much damage did I do? It was originally a green day (even though I know you can switch them)
and I hadn't had any syns up to that point.

If I am really good for the rest of the week and go syn free, will I be able to claw back a loss?

Hi girls . Finding it quite hard to post now back at work, but have been reading through posts. Struggling a little to stay on the straight and narrow - fruit/veg snacks just don't seem very satisfying at the moment!
KID: don't think your blowout would do much damage TBH; I'd just carry on as normal now, maybe limiting to 10 syns a day. I find the trouble with 'flexible syns' is that I end up feeling deprived when I go 'syn-less' for a few days. It's only the thought of my cup of tea and rich tea biccies that gets me through! So I sort of allow one blowout a week, and then just carry on as normal - it's never really affected my weight loss (which is never dramatci I should add - maybe that's why!), but I'd rather lose one or two pounds a week and keep my (big) treats .
Getting a bit sick of the endless meal prep/cooking. I don't get back in from work until 7ish, and am out house at 6.45am, so really struggling at moment with energy levels etc. DDs don't seem especially keen on SW stuff, but I'm damned if I'm going to get into habit of cooking separate stuff! (although ended up doing 3 lots last week,me, dh, dds ). Think I'll be giving in to the Ready Meal any day now - does anyone know if there's any 'free' or low syns M&S ready meals (veggie) that I can have? (have vouchers waiting!) Or maybe I should just blow them on new undies!

nikkid21 · 16/01/2008 11:55

Just come back from meeting and have lost 1 1/2 lb this week. Please with that have want to lose 2 next week to get my club 10.

wE had 3 new members who were weighing in after their first week. They lost 7.5lb, 6lb and 5.5lb It takes me at least a month to do that!

andyrobo237 · 16/01/2008 12:54

Blimey - those weight losses are fab - it takes me 2 months to lose that much!

I think eggs are a good idea for red lunches - I also thought about adding in some bacon - a real treat! Diege I am the same as you - back at work with a desk full of fruit - I do get in pretty handy though, but still feel all evening is spent cooking, washing, ironing, getting lunches ready, clothes out for the next day, etc. By the time I sit down it is nearly bed time! But I suppose it stops me snacking!

I am snacking on fruit at the moment - 10am, 11.30 am, then lunch now, then another snack at 3pm - seems to be working - will see when get weighed next monday (missed this week due to appt)!

me23 · 16/01/2008 13:22

I lost 2 1/2 pounds this week! I'm very pleased with that as i haven't felt deprived at all really! hope I can keep it up well done everyone on their losses x

auntyspan · 16/01/2008 13:42

well it's my second week - lost 4lb in the first week and finding it really easy to stick to. Have second weigh in tomorrow

Misdee · 16/01/2008 13:45

i lost 1.5lbs this week. got 1.5lblbs to go to my stone award. mine competation between myself and a several ladies to see if we can gwet to the next award by next week. so am going to get cracking on it this week.

MamaVonG · 16/01/2008 13:45

well done misdee.
am hoping for a positive result on teh scales tonight, I've been good!

Shhhh · 16/01/2008 14:27

welldone to those that have lost and good luck for those awaiting weigh in's. Im due mine on thurs...Hmmm.....

Seen as this is my 2nd week and last week (my 1st week) only saw a loss of 1 lb im not holding my breath..ALTHOUGH I can honestly say I have stuck to this diet 110%..Im so determined to loose.

I know I shouldn't but I have been weighing myself and on MY scales I have gone down 4 lb in a week, yet sw scales never reflect this . I so hope things will start for me. Have ds's christening booked for July and I so want to be 3 stone lighter and hopefully in a size 12..

kid · 16/01/2008 14:36

I'm really losing the knack to diet at the moment. I had a bagel for lunch which I think is 11 syns on its own, nevermind the tuna and spring onion (with mayo) filling.

Right, not treats for me to snack on tonight, its a syn free dinner and its a red day. I NEED to see a loss on Monday.

Beadmum · 16/01/2008 14:50

well done to everyone on their losses.
shhh - Good luck with your weigh in
Diege - im exactly the same as you, i would rather lose slowly and treat myself every now and then. Think this has helped me stay on the plan, i also look forward to my cuppa with biscuits in the evening

ive always struggled with red day lunches, i sometimes have a baked potato as HEB with tuna or cottage cheese filling or cheese as HEA. Eggs are good lunch on red when you dont need to use up any HE's.
Ryvitas (HEB) spread with fromage frais, ham and sliced boiled egg, yummy and quite filling as you can have 4 of them.

Loving sainsbury be good to yourself cereal bars, great sweet snack with a cuppa for 3.5 syns. Peach and apricot, apple and blackcurrant are the only ones ive tried but are really nice if you just need something with low syns to satisfy.
