Do you go to class ?
How long have you been doing it & how much have you lost ?

I am on my second week (weigh-in tomorrow). I go to a weigh and go class in the city in my lunch hour and have lost 8lbs so far. I miss going to an actual class though so am looking for some support on here.

How useless am I at picking names - that is a totally brilliant one Furball, I may never change it back .

My computer keeps going funny and closing down my internet connection - so I hope I manage a full post this time.

Well done Emkana, you must be so proud. I really admire your persistance, I have absolutely loads to loose so I will need to stay with WW for at least 18 months, I hope I can. I lost 1 lb at last night's weigh in, which got me my 3rd silver seven, and means there's only 4 lbs to go to my 10%.

Lil & Bran, i mean i think when you hit a certain weight, you think why bother. Diets are so boring and i have no willpower.

hollybet · 02/12/2004 16:22

Well done emma and linny!! That is really good. Let me know your tips for staying motivated, especially over Christmas.

Kayleigh, have I missed details of your weigh in?

Tammy, yes diets can get boring and it does need will power and in a way I agree with you. But every so often I look in the mirror and know I could look so much better than I do now and feel so much better as well, so it's back on the diet. My dp doesn't think that I need to loose weight, but is supportive when I say that I want to. At the moment I am 11st 1lb, and 5ft 5 and would love to be under 10 stone for my wedding in February. I just want to look at myself on the photo's and feel proud of how I look.

So the reason I bother is for me!!

I've been on WW for ages now - well, since april and have lost just under one and a half stones despite having more lunches/ dinners out than at any other stage in my life! I have never been on a proper structured diet before but have found WW fairly easy to follow even though I only do it online - have never been to a weigh-in even though it is supposed to be easier to lose weight if you go to the weigh-ins. I am really impressed with everyone's weightloss and I am really hoping to keep off the weight that I lose!

Non you didn't miss it hollybet, just wasn't in a hurry to post today

I put on 1/2 lb but I am actually ok with that as I got my period today and feel really bloated - and I know I've been good so am not too bothered. I did think it would be more so was happy with just the half ! Am sure it'll come off next week.

hollybet · 02/12/2004 16:44

ah well if you hadn't been doing ww and being good think how much it would be
and think how good it will be next week

Aren't you nearly at a stone?

I put on 2.5 lbs in Wales but have managed to lose one pound of it again. Though I just ate some of the kids' Pringles - did you know they are six points for a quarter of a tube!!!????

I'm going to try and be good in the run-up but I am NOT dieting over Christmas: will worry about any weight gain in January!

Tammylove, I don't think that there's a certain weight beyond which it's not worth bothering to diet, but there are certain frames of mind which make it extremely difficult to stick to a diet. If you think that diets are horrible and you won't be able to stick to it, then you're already doomed to fail. If you hate yourself and think of a diet as punishment for over-eating in the past then you will be constantly wanting to comfort yourself with food.

There's nothing wrong with being over-weight so long as it's not making you miserable, but if it is making you miserable then it's almost impossible to loose weight because you're whole life becomes a battle with food - so it's a really vicious circle. Why not forget about loosing weight for the next few months and learn to really like yourself the way you are, and try to always view food in terms of it's healthiness instead of how fat it might make you. Think about giving your body what it needs to be healthy, so more of everything instead of less. More fruit, more veg, more wholemeal, more exercise. Don't think about the things you would do if you were thinner, just go and do them now and have fun.

There is a spooky period synchro going on on this thread because if kaysleighbells had found any chocolate I would have ambushed her for it, shedding blood if necessary. I get horrific fat and sugar cravings when I'm due, Lilibet.
However, I did manage to lose 2.5lbs this week. So I am happy and slightly less portly mama today.

I didn't have to buy any new clothes, as I still had all my old clothes from years ago, and now I finally fit into them again! Once I reach my goal weight I will go out and buy some new stuff, though, hopefully in a size 14.
We had friends over last weekend who I hadn't seen for eight months - but they didn't say anything about me having lost weight, which was very disappointing!
I tried on a pair of trousers, though, that I wore nine months ago - and they were HUGE, so that cheered me up!
It's difficult to be good all the time, I've been very lucky that the b/feeding has given me extra points.
WW is the only diet in my opinion that you can do long-term, as you're allowed to eat every food. I just start obsessing if I'm told that I'm not allowed to eat certain things.

Festive and different - I like it

Well, everythig going well so far but tonight I am out for a meal - leaving in about half an hour and I should be getting ready. realy need to stick to this so my first idea is that I am driving - much to dp's delight. It's not the points in the wine, it's what the wine does to my self control and also after several glasses I am thin and drop dead gorgeous!

I know I am going to want the most fattening things on the menu, but I will really try adn stick to this. Wish me luck!

Dior, well done that's great.

Hollybet, it's so hard eating out isn't it. But at least you didn't drink so think of the extra points you saved from that Smile

Today's another day. X

BRANdy butter - Glad to be of assistance!

Just got back from a looong weekend in London with DH and DS, tried and was successful not to go too wild, even turned down cakes???? Out of 2 packs, didn't have one, no desserts either. Decided to be really dangerous and put the WW meetings on hold until the new year. Have a few meals out etc then christmas etc etc, yeah we know. So hopefully I can stay focussed at home for a few weeks.

Thanks dior - i was expecting them to be higher than that, so i think i will be making that on crackers my new snack (instead of chocolate mini rolls - 2 points!)

emkana - i know how you feel about your friends not saying anything - i am sure they notices if you have lost that much and not seen them since, but some people just dont think to say anything do they? I always say if i can tell someone has lost weight as i know i would be thrilled if anyone said it to me. Just before i got pregnant this time last year, i had lost 3 stone in a year and not seen loads of friends who i met up with at christmas, and not one of them said anything, and i was really gutted about it. Unlucky for me i then managed to put on 4 stone while pregnant, and the next time i sw them they managed to comment on the amount of weight i had put on!! not very nice friends after all.....!!

i also get mad cravings for chocolate when i am due on. well, all the time if i am honest, but esp when i am due on - came on on friday, and we had just put the xmas tree up and i then managed to pick every single one of the chocolate tree decorations off the tree and eat them in the space of about an hour. dp was not impressed when he went looking for one!!

Joined WW last Friday, not done too badly so far apart from dinner out on Saturday. I have a couple of stone to lose.

Does anyone know the recipe for the point free mushroom pate?

Went today and I have lost another pound, which I was very pleased about.
The leader said that they are launching a new diet in the new year. Does anybody know what it will entail?
It better be good, otherwise I'll just stick with the old one!

Thanks KSB, will continue throwing it on everything then. Have just put a WW soup in the microwave.
