Do you go to class ?
How long have you been doing it & how much have you lost ?

I am on my second week (weigh-in tomorrow). I go to a weigh and go class in the city in my lunch hour and have lost 8lbs so far. I miss going to an actual class though so am looking for some support on here.

lilibet, pasta dishes in tomato based sauces are low in points.

I have bought the time to eat cookbook - if you'd like i could photocopy the vegetarian pages and post to you. Not sure if i still have your address - do you want to CAT me with it again.

don't find the fruit a problem. I am still eating quite a bit - to snack on during day. I just pick the lowest point ones. 2 satsumas are 1/2 point. 1 apple is 1/2 point. Plums, apricots, melon etc are low in points.
To be honest I was probably eatimg too much on s/w. i tended to graze on fruit all day. It was costing me a fortune too as i was buying peaches, nectarines, cherries etc.

lilibet, just read your post on the other thread about being at work and having a microwave. I take the w/w microwave soups in a carton into work. They are 1 or 1 and a half points each and quite filling with a roll and a pack of w/w crisps.

Keep posting - we will make sure you look stunning in that red dress. X

Ooh, I'm another WW gal. Lost about 10 lbs in 8 weeks, so slow and steady. Have just got back from a weekend in Center Parcs, so have skived off tonights class as, even though I didn't go too crazy, unfortunately it doesn't take much.

Bran - I'm also not keen on the tomato based soups. But love butternut squash soup and also pumpkin and also lentil (which is 2 points a serving) If you need recipes, give us a shout.

Can anyone tell me how pedometer steps equate to extra points. If I do 10,000 steps on my pedometer, can I have some extra points?

I don't go to the classes but I have all of the books, i'm trying really hard but it's not really happening, thou I have taken up swimming, how many points is 40 mins of swimming worth? (I find I don't eat all of my allowance on some days as i'm not hungry, then the day after I eat a load extra. (they should do a quick result healthy eating bums and thigh diet!)

Report
Kayleigh · 23/11/2004 11:05

munnzieb, you get 5.5 bonus points for 40 mins swimming

Lilibet - it doesn't do it in steps. It does it in time walked and the pace so :-

30 min slow walking (20+ minute mile) = 1 bonus point
30 min gentle walking (18 minute mile) = 2 bonus point
30 min brisk walking (15+ minute mile) = 3 bonus points

Thanks Kayleigh

How is it going? Just wondering what to have for tea - cupboards a bit bare as I'm asda'ing after tea. Dp is having wisdom teeth out tomorrow so having a last good meal - he wants a full roast dinner.
Give me a bit of advice on roasties anyone - if I part boil them, spray them with fry light and roast, how many each? On the WW website it says that an average potato is about the size of a mouse (computer not squeaky!), so my roasties are usually about half that size. Is is the same as a baked and the fry light counts for nothing, or is it still the 1.5 per potato as on the site?

Report
Kayleigh · 23/11/2004 16:16

lilibet - roasties in the book/on site are those done in oil. So for example if you were in a restaurant or at a friends. When you fry light them, as i do, i count the same as a jacket spud.
Had some at the weekend and it was quite a lot for 1.5 points when it was on my plate

so, I've done two whole days of counting points - not bad actually, but this is where it is still fresh and I am motivated. Just hope it lasts and the novelty doesn't wear off.
The ww online is pretty good, I like my online tracker. Even managed a 30 minute walk today while dp was having his op, so a whole extra 2 points! woo hoo!

How is everyone else? What sort of stuff are you eating?

I off for my third weigh in today so a bit nervous, but have been good so hoping for a loss. Plus i did loads of exercide yesterday - well 4 hours walking round a shopping centre should count for something, shouldn't it ?!

Have made a casserole ready for tonight - chicken and a sainsburys BGTY mexican cook-in sauce. The whole jar is only 3 points ! Will make it with rice for dh and just extra veg for me.

woo hoo woo hoo woo hoo woo hoo for Kayleigh!!

Absolutley fantastic!!
so thrilled for you - all the jumping up and down for joy afterwards will have shifted at least another 1/2 lb!

sorry - hadn't read your earlier post fully - he has had his wisdom teeth out. Sat here on soup and custard and mars ice cream -

wouldn't mind but he is thinner than me anyway!

Report
Kayleigh · 25/11/2004 18:57

lilibet, am glad to hear it wasn't anything too serious.

thanks for the fanfare I am very very happy. Didn't actually do much jumping up & down - was a bit stunned really. I have never lost so much so quickly before. Even when i was bigger than this after ds2. I just have to keep it up.
The good thing is that Marina is coming with me now so as well as the support on this thread I have her physically there to make me go to weigh-in even if I've been bad - which is usually my downfall.

Not sure of the points in them, can't look it up at the moment as am at work, but what about the options drinks, or ww chocolate yoghurts. My weakness is bread spread thick with butter, can eat half a loaf and frequently have

Report
Furball · 26/11/2004 11:08

WW yoghurts usually have the points on the side, I have the toffee ones for 1/2. Sorry don't know about options.

Report
Kayleigh · 26/11/2004 14:36

oooh lilibet, I know what you mean about bread and butter. I think that's why i'm finding w/w easier than s/w cos at least i can have white bread and white toast with spread on instead of the wholemeal stuff all the time. And I can have toast for breakfast and a roll for lunch and a sandwhich for dinner if that's what i want.

linnylambe, I've got at least another 2 stone to lose. That would probably get me into a size 14 which I would be very happy with.

quick question, on tesco food, it gives saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat. How doI work out the poits value of something? I've put the item in on the ww site but it's not coming up.

on the w/w site in the points calculator you put in cals per portion or 100g and saturated fat per portion or hundred gram and it should give you points

if you can't find it give me info and i have a points calculator

another quick question - is there a maximum number of points you can 'bank'? I'm on ww online and it's not banking the points that I have left for today. I started on Tuesday and each day, I have had 18 points. I'm on 20 and have got 2 bonus ones each day. So each day it has banked 4 points for me. I now have 12. So far today I have used 11 points, have got 3 bouns points, was hoping to settle down now with wine and crisps, but its not saying as it had on previous days 'points available to bank'
My bank is reset each monday ngith as I started on a Tuesday. Is 12 the maximum you can have inthe 'bank'?
