And by the way, welcome MightyMoosh.

TigerFeet · 02/01/2008 17:45

I've just done dh - the outline looks nothing like him - all his weight is out front with scrawny chicken legs and arms (sorry dh if you read this ) He is orange which isn't so bad I suppose but he could definitley do with losing a stone or two.

JackieNo · 02/01/2008 18:00

You mean in rl, or on the model. Orange. Nice. Funny how different people's shapes are - loads of my weight is on my bum and thighs, but I see other people who have bigger top halves than me, and the same size/bigger stomachs, and they have slim legs. Men carry stomach fat differently to women, don't they - women carry the fat over their muscles, and men under them (or is it the other way round? No, don't think so), which accounts for the more rounded 'beer belly' shape.

JackieNo · 02/01/2008 18:49

Oh, orange - sorry, I thought you meant the male figure was orange. Ignore me - yes, orange is not bad.

MrsJohnCusack · 02/01/2008 19:38

oooh got all spooked out there as Jackie sent me an email whilst I was reading this thread - I thought she was watching me. But it was to confirm that my hotmail address has been hijacked - sorry to anyone that may get a stupid email from me. nothing that can be done unfortunately

welcome MightyMoosh!

well I put on few pounds over Christmas/New Year, very fed up about that. have been away for a week staying at parents' holiday house, lovely in some parts, completely and utterly hideous in others (principally my doddery old father toppling over and breaking his arm just below the shoulder and my sister and mother nearly falling out properly for good). And sleeping with both children in the same room has done nothing for anyone's sleep.....

anyway, I need to lose around 4 stone basically (that would just about get me into the green area) and 2008 is going to be the year! OH yes. Starting today, NO MORE CRAP.

JackieNo · 02/01/2008 19:40

Sorry to hear about your father. HOpe the sleeping gets better.

Kewcumber · 02/01/2008 20:32

actually that Lighterlife silhouette looks quite like me - I must be pretty average. Think I am on the larger boned side from wrist measurement/foot size but am obviously veering towards pretty average.

Just out of interest - those who have met me - put in 5'9" and 20 stone and see whether you think it looks about right. Am always interested in whetehr I am right - I have a theory that my perception of my body size is pretty obvious when I am very large but doesn;t decrease in line with reality so looking at my shape even at 12 stone I thought looked pretty normal but was convinced I was huge at the time.

JackieNo · 02/01/2008 20:38

Have to say, I think you look slimmer than that silhouette. But then I look at mine (5'4" and 14 stone 12), and think I look bigger than it does, so I wouldn't trust me.

I suspect we're probably all not to be trusted to have a very realistic image of ourselves, one way or another. On the one hand, in my head, I'm a slim young thing, and on the other, when I look in a mirror I see someone who's probably bigger than I actually am. Not sure how one changes that.

WigWamBam · 02/01/2008 23:10

Kew - I am a similar weight/BMI to you, but I'm a completely different shape ... and a completely different shape to that Lighterlife model.

Her norks aren't hanging down round her knees, for one thing ...

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 03/01/2008 09:40

at my orange dh

He is paler than palest pale, bless him

(with his chicken legs and beer gut, I'm not painting a great picture of him am I?)

JackieNo · 03/01/2008 10:50

I'm sure he's got a lovely personality, though, TigerFeet.

WigWamBam · 03/01/2008 11:39

Nasty cough you've got there ...

Who's weighing in today, then?

OP posts:
JackieNo · 03/01/2008 11:40

Me, but later. I'm expecting to have put on, as am still in holiday mode.

TigerFeet · 03/01/2008 11:42

I will also weigh later... I forgot this morning. I have definitely put on though. There is no way I can't have. I shall be starting again. Again. [teletubby]

WigWamBam · 03/01/2008 11:46

I'm weighing later too, I forgot it was Thursday this morning. I'm also pretty much in holiday mode still ... roll on next week, when everything gets back to normal and (hopefully!) dh stops buying mince pies!

Dottydot · 03/01/2008 12:02

Blimey - I don't think I look like my Lighterlife sillouhette at all... (possibly have my fooling-myself head on though). My BMI is now 32.4, which I know doesn't sound outrageously high, but I had got it down to 29

Ah well. I've had a good few days and am getting used to that not feeling overly full all the time, which is good.

To be honest I think being on Prozac for a week has got more to do with it than me being deliberately good - it's making me feel slightly nauseaus all the time. But in a calm kind of way!

JackieNo · 03/01/2008 12:02

. Like it.

JackieNo · 03/01/2008 12:04

Sorry dottydot - that was to TigerFeet. Glad you're still feeling positive about things dotty - though the feeling slightly nauseous all the time sounds less than pleasant.

WigWamBam · 03/01/2008 12:22

Nice one, Tiger

If it's any consolation, Dotty, I found the nausea was only really bad for a few days, and within a couple of weeks was completely gone. Hopefully you'll find it's worth it in the end.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 03/01/2008 12:36

am off sick today so won;t get out to the scales. Will weigh tomorrow (KC bites bullet very very hard)

againagainTigerFeet · 03/01/2008 13:31

Go for it Kewcumber

Dotty, I didn't get nauseous when I started on AD's but I did get other symptoms, dry mouth and very vivid dreams, that passed after a couple of weeks. Hopefully yours will too.

Right, am home now, and off to weigh myself.

Littlefish · 03/01/2008 13:36

Just by losing a stone (but might have put half of it back on over Christmas , my BMI has dropped from 38.31 to 36.24

Off to WW tonight to see what damage I've done!!!!!!

I'll be back later to report.

Welcome back Dotty - how absolutely lovely to see you. You have been missed.

Welcome Moosh - stick with us, and you'll be entertained and supported!

Littlefish · 03/01/2008 13:39

Just looked at the Lighterlife one. I don't like it.

I also just tried putting in 5ft 9 and 6 stone which was what my mother weighed at her most anorexic. GULP. Not good.
