anything called wacky is suspect. or zany. yuch.

MightyMoosh · 04/01/2008 20:45

Oh and norsthisterone didnt affect me bitch-wise, unless Ive been on them so long I dont remember who I am. so maybe time for tears and recrimenations? or laughing madly at the walls??!?!?!?!?

Kewcumber · 04/01/2008 21:09

WWB - our pesky female hormones are so complicaed that if its hormonal they may never get to the bottom of the problem. I am an old hand on gynae issues (ironically having none now) -
norethiseronesdfhkfhvkv (whatever) - tick
mirena coil - tick
D&C - tick (several)
ultrasound - tick (too many to count)
cone biopsy - tick

And thats without the IVF probelms...

I didn't want the mirena coild fitted was very very anti. Was pretty much told it was that or persistent D&C's to check for endometrial cancer (persistent/irregluar bleeding is a sign of that). Ebst thing I ever did - doesn't work for evryone but my god it works like a dream for me. Three motnhs of spotting then regular periods, very light.

If it doesn;t work you can have it taken out. If it does work I think they last five years at a time.

MightyMoosh · 04/01/2008 21:31

bugger it all. Im 25, childless and told Im unlikely to conceive BUT not impossible so Im clinging to one day being an actual mum! plan is-

lose weight
snag a man anyway I can
make babies
be reasonably happy and moan a lot about them

til then working with them is the best I have!

Kewcumber · 04/01/2008 21:35

snap Moosh! (ahem - apart from the 25 bit) - I never did conceive but left it too late. Losing weight could have a huge effect on your fertility - of course we need to find you a nice man first (actually second - I need one first).

You live/work close to me!

MrsJohnCusack · 04/01/2008 22:58

ah well, having lost one ovary to a nasty tumour, and having knackered tubes, and then a further operation to sort out extensive adhesions, I was told it would probably be very difficult for me to concieve

but whoops, I got pregnant 2 weeks later

these things are never cut and dried Moosh

all this talk of Richmond is making me homesick!

MightyMoosh · 04/01/2008 23:17

I take it you mean richmond area Kewcumber? Dont think home home newquay is on me profile. odd thinking of surrey as home while im here, but when Im there it is home.

TBH the losing weigth bit is to get the man- have been single since 14! the actual baby-making is far far on the horizon- I know 25 is young but I have to think of the future! my mum had me (oldest) at 30 so I know theres time (tic tic tic...)

Oh and london people so you know it is quite balmy down ere, out today with no coat! I know this is due mainly to erm... padding rather than weather so much, my lovely mum was my weight but was diagnosed diabetic and v high blood pressure and is now down to 12st and is freezing (erm a wee bit of subtext there!)

MightyMoosh · 04/01/2008 23:18

oh and the polysystic ovary syndrome probly dont help with the baby bit.

Kewcumber · 05/01/2008 10:34

loads of people with PCOS conceive fairly easily though, somwtimes with Clomid. It is extremely helpful to lose weight though.

My screen name gives away my location!

WigWamBam · 05/01/2008 17:53

Things are definitely not cut and dried, Moosh. I was also told I would find it difficult, and maybe impossible, to conceive ... but managed it at 38, despite being on the Pill at the time!

Gynae has said that my best course of action, given that Norethisterone turns me psychotic and I don't want a Mirena (I don't want it even more since I found out that the hormone it uses is also Norethisterone!) is endometrial ablation by something called Novasure ... which is an alternative to hysterectomy which basically blasts the lining of the womb into oblivion! The consultant didn't tell me much about it (including the fact that it rules out the chances of having more children - although at nearly 45 perhaps he thought I was past it anyway ) Have Googled and frightened myself stupid.

But enough of such frivolities. Am off to collect the weights and will post them in a minute.

OK: the scores on the doors - bit thin on the ground again but those new starts should mean a few more next week.

JackieNo: -1lb (total +1lb)
LittleFish: +1 (total 12.5lb)
WWB: stayed the same (total 22lb)

I think that probably gives us an excuse for Krispy Kreme all round

MightyMoosh · 05/01/2008 18:09

WWB- didnt do anything silly like forget knickers in gynae??!? Oh and kewcumber one thing you all should know is I am abit of a dumbass.

WigWamBam · 05/01/2008 18:09

Can I join?

Again?

Please?

I've got about 4 stone to lose before I hit the green zone, and for the first time in my life, my BmI has tipped 35

So tomorrow I am starting weightwatchers, with my RL friend who also has a lot to lose. I will post my weigh in weight.

I always comforted myself before with not gaining any more weight, but obviously that has come to an end. It is creeping on.
