2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

2lb off for me and just slipped into the next stone bracket, my aim is to never go back over the bracket Grin

Every time I think of caving I remember how miserable I am at my current weight and how much fun I was when I was was less and that's keeping me going atm.

WitchDancer · 17/01/2022 19:10

I weighed in this morning and I've put on 2lb. Not surprisingly considering I haven't tracked what I've been eating, but I'm so so disappointed in myself. It's a new day tomorrow.

WitchDancer · 17/01/2022 19:11

Well done Forricks!

Dumpydump · 18/01/2022 17:45

Well done @forricks 😁 great result! @witchdancer don't beat yourself up, fresh start today 🙂

Yesterday was a bit of a rubbish day for me food-wise. I caved in to my urge to binge and had chocolate and bread and butter. However, I was able today to accept it had happened and get back on track. This is a big step for me and usually I would go into the sabotage mindset of "I've fallen off the wagon might as well have a cheat day, week, year!!!". Back on it today and feeling motivated

Well done that takes some doing!

I don't want to talk too soon but I feel like something has finally clicked and I'm finding it much easier to make better decisions and this is my longest streak without just binning it off.

It's also made me realise how much I secret ate Grin

Dumpydump · 18/01/2022 19:35

@Forricks sounds like you are doing amazingly 🙂 I can be awful for secret eating too. Although now I am back to working full time I will have much fewer opportunities to do it which is a good thing! For the most part I have been okay and not feeling starving or anything but yesterday I definitely succumbed to comfort eating due to feeling drained.

Well done @Forricks! I lost 1.5lb this week which also put me in the next stone down bracket Grin ok I still have 2.5 stone to go, but it's encouraged me!

Dumpydump I am a terrible evening snacker Blush I think I'm just so exhausted from a loooong day of DC/ work/ after school activities/ the hell of bedtime that I can easily succumb to the temptation of Nutella on toast. Really trying to find some healthier options which still feel like treats!

Dumpydump · 19/01/2022 07:00

Brilliant, @Clara! Well done 🙂

Amazing!!! Well done

Forricks · 20/01/2022 09:33

Oh bollocks I've got the crave...I just want to binge and eat all the nice things!

Well done on the mid week weigh @Dumpydump!

Dumpydump · 20/01/2022 16:27

@forricks it's so hard isn't it?! No matter how hard I try and change my mindset around food and want to be fit and healthy I still crave proper comfort food! I don't think I'll ever be one of these people who are repulsed by junk food 🤣 try think of the the bigger picture and how brilliant you will feel when you are slimmer and healthier 😊 sending hugs and determination 💪🤗

I've just eaten way too much lasagne! 😭 My son pleaded that I make one and the truth is my lasagne is sooo good! I couldn't resist having a big portion. Part of me feels like I should have had something different to the rest of the family but in reality what I should be able to do is have a bit of restraint 😢. It's just so cheesy and yummy! 🤤 Anyway, I imagine I'll pay for that one on the scales so better be super good next week!!! Hope everyone else is doing well 😊

@Dumpydump forgive yourself. It’s just one meal. The trick is to not let that spiral into eating junk and giving up. If you really want to be good you could skip breakfast tomorrow and do a bit of intermittent fasting until lunch. Or hold out til 10am and just have a banana. You can get those calories back easily!

Thank you 😊 I'm being a bit light-hearted really but there are just certain temptations which push me over the edge! I can avoid chocolate and crisps etc quite easily but every now and again I just can't resist a big, hot stodgy meal. I know that overall I have been really focussed and my everyday eating is 100x better than it was so trying to remember that it's a marathon not a sprint and refocus and get back on it tomorrow 😊 xx

I'm inspired by you all! I meant to start at the beginning of January but with sickness and COVID, this month has been like an extended Christmas.

I have joined RWL so am going to track calories there and hold myself accountable here.

Dumpydump · 25/01/2022 06:12

Welcome @Cofifeefee 😊 good luck 🍀

I’ve lost 4lb since Jan 2… going very slowly but I will get there. I’m trying to get to 10st, which is a stone away and will make me a healthy BMI. One thing I’ve been telling myself every time I want to eat junk is “the quicker I get to where I want to be, the quicker I can eat normally.” By that I mean that instead of spending my life dieting, once I’m at goal weight I will be able to have crisps or chocolate a bit more often, I’ll be able to have a meal out without feeling guilty or that extra glass of wine. I am always going to be somebody who will have to watch my weight, but I won’t constantly have to “diet” to stay at goal weight.

Dumpydump · 25/01/2022 16:07

@GSDR that sounds like such a sensible and positive attitude. 4lbs is still a great loss, especially when you don't have too much more to lose. I am very aware that my weight loss is currently quite speedy but I remember when I was closer to goal previously it really slowed down and I was happy with 1lb a week. Keep going, you are doing fantastically x

Wow amazing!! Can I ask for a sample menu?

Dumpydump · 27/01/2022 16:14

I really don't do anything fancy! I just log everything on MyFitnessPal and keep within the calorie allowance of 1260 and try and do some walking.

So yesterday I had

Cornflakes and skimmed milk

Sandwich thin with ham, chicken and salad/cucumber
Banana
Apple

Chicken breast with Chinese marinade, cous cous and salad
