2022 has GOT to be the year I get on track and stop yo-yoing! Who's with me

Started 2021 at 15st 1lb! Lost weight, put some on, lost some, put some back on. Weighed myself today and I'm 15st 2 again!!!! Back to square one! In 5"2 and now back up to a size 16. I feel unhealthy and unattractive but really struggle with the impulse to binge eat, especially when I am stressed or tired. Before having children I lost 8 stone, weighed 10 stone and wore a size 10 so I know I can do it. Just need to stay motivated. I am going to restart with my fitness Pal and try and walk 10000 everyday. Really don't want to be writing the same thing this time next year!

Sorry for the biscuit - I haven't a clue where that came from

1lb up over the weekend. Not ideal but not too bad for a weekend away. Back to it today!

1lb is manageable - did you still have a good time?

I've lost 0.4lb which is fine as I didn't even get out my pjs on one of the days. and me and dd had isolation treats so yeah, slow start but feel positive for the week coming.

Good luck for any weigh ins today!

Yes I did and very difficult to my usual mindset. I would usually use it as an excuse to "cheat" and then struggle to get back on track. 1lb is definitely manageable and doesn't feel like I've ruined my progress so far ☺️ a loss is a loss well done☺️ 👍 keep going, you'll get there x

I've managed to stay on track today (other than sneaky a chicken strip from the kids leftovers!) But my god I'm feeling it today. Really craving large quantities of rubbish food! I'm not necessarily hungry but I could just devour anything in sight! Don't know why I'm feeling like this but I can definitely feel my willpower wavering. I'm hoping writing this will prevent me from caving in!

WitchDancer · 11/01/2022 22:21

What is it with leftovers? We wouldn't miss them if they weren't there so why do we pinch them if they are?

The cravings are horrible aren't they! I try to keep my hands busy in the evening so I'm or tempted to snack. I used to paint my nails in the evening so I wouldn't be tempted to grab crisps and junk

DSGR · 11/01/2022 22:24

Keep going! Tomorrow is another day! Picture yourself in new clothes this summer… no packet of crisps tonight is going to feel better than slipping on a nice summer dress

Onlyabean · 11/01/2022 22:59

I lost four and a half stone during lockdown and have gained two back really quickly. I feel miserable and gross.

Dumpydump · 12/01/2022 06:57

Thanks for the support everyone. I did manage to say strong! That was first time since restarting that I just wanted to comfort eat and makes me realise how easy it is to just follow the urges. I think being tired is a real trigger for me so probably something to we aware of x

WitchDancer · 12/01/2022 09:14

You're not alone in that Dumpy. I think it's the body's way of trying to get more food for fuel. Either that or the tiredness affects our strength against will power?

Only - you're still 2 1/2 stone lighter than you were, which is fantastic! You can do this.

Onlyabean · 12/01/2022 16:40

@WitchDancer thank you for your support. It's so hard isn't it? I just feel so hungry and I just love food.

DSGR · 12/01/2022 17:35

The only way I can combat hunger is to have a constant fridge full of picky things to eat. I cut up celery, carrot, cucumber and pepper sticks and have them with a dollop of low fat houmous if I’m hungry. I know it’s boring but does mean I’m never starving..

WitchDancer · 12/01/2022 18:38

That's a great idea DS, thank you. I have evenings where I just want to munch on something so that would be ideal for that

Thurs weigh in: 1.5lb off this week. Definitely slowed down but pleased with a loss 😊

That's brilliant Dumpy, well done!

Forricks · 14/01/2022 10:13

Well done!

I had a ok week so far but blew it with a McDonald's last night...

Dh has had a bee in his bonnet about trying that Hello fresh so we are starting that as of next week and I am planning to do a kick start and have 2 meal replacement shakes and 1 meal a day til it starts. Done a mid week weigh and exactly the same as Monday Hmm

Thank you 😊 one McDonald's wouldn't have blown it and you've not gained so that's a bonus 👍 I often think about doing hello fresh or something similar but my dh is so tight with money he'd never go for it 🙄🤣 anyway sounds like a good plan. Good luck and keep going 🍀💪😊 x

I'd be interested in knowing how you get on with Hello Fresh too. One of my friends has been trying it and says it's really good, so I hope that's the case for you too.

Dumpydump · 15/01/2022 19:40

Got a promotion at work last week and so start full time from Monday 😬 although I'm really pleased (I think!) it means that I can't do my school run walk which I'd really got into a good habit of doing. Can already feel myself dreading the idea of having to go out after a long day but I know that I feel so much better for a bit of exercise! How's everyone else doing on that front? Any tips for keeping motivated during a busy working week!

OP posts:
WitchDancer · 16/01/2022 09:03

Can you go for a walk at lunchtime instead?

WitchDancer · 16/01/2022 09:03

Oh and congratulations on your promotion! Thanks

Dumpydump · 16/01/2022 13:17

Thank you @witchdancer. Unfortunately I don't have a long enough lunch break 😢 otherwise I would x
